N1H- The Return(Minus Butthole Pleasures)
Hey,
Got my computer back set up and wanting to log for a while now.
Anyways, not logging has made me v lazy and unorganized. My diet is also trash and I look like I don't even lift no more.
I'm also selling most of my sneakers to start a poker bankroll. I haven't played in over 3 years, but looks like nothing has changed, lol. They also open up a poker room nearby and I'm sure the players still suck.
My childhood buddy keeps inviting me to his lame home games. I keep making excuse not to go. By the looks of it, its some bs $20 game, that lasts 6+ hours lolol.
Anal girl is with some 10'' arm loser. They honestly look like brother and sister, it's disgusting lol.
Currently squat and DL only. I tore something in my shoulder and haven't bench since April 10.
My PRs:
Bench: 265
Squat: 390
DL: 490
I tore my shoulder the week of maxing out. Would have attempted something like:
Bench: 275
Squat: 405
DL: 505
Currently doing whatever. Need shoulder to heal but been very slow.
See you soon. Brewing that coffee soon.
So what do you think is the more likely timeline and method he made a bunch of money before making tons more money in crypto (I assume you believe that he put a lot of $ into crypto)?
So I don't really want to engage in whataboutism. But lets accept a few facts:
1) The Lakers story is completely insane and has literally no evidence to support it.
2) His original comment (maybe from a blog or who knows) about being a NBA 1H Total shark is complete horseshit. There is a thread in SB where he gets completely eviscerated for not even checking stats for this lie.
3) The only evidence I've seen of advantage betting is betting huge limits into weak lines from marked accounts.
4) He was involved in illegal bookmaking. Both via Wagerstreet and with whatever he did to take bets from high stakes poker pros. (Via his statements over podcasts for booking Durrrr)
5) He seems to be a winning live poker player.
6) He definitely worked for the Mavs.
7) He's very smart, very rich, and a pretty good looking dude.
When you take these facts, it seems pretty self-evident that he decided to try to clean up his image from illegal bookmaker to super astute sports bettor since lay people have no idea.
Ironically I know someone who was probably less wealthy (speculating, but I'd guess Hbob was low 8 figs in this time period) than my buddy was when crypto took off in gambling (2014-2016), who was in a similar position in the bookmaking world and managed to billionize (with the ensuing problems). So it is certainly doesn't strain credulity to think a very smart person with 10m involved in bookmaking during the infancy of crypto would manage to turn that into 200-300m (or whatever) over the following decade.
Granted he could have laundered money, run guns or drugs or children, or any number of things I don't know about since I don't know him personally and have no access to any proprietary information (beyond a handful of private messages). I'm merely talking about his personal claims about sports betting and their veracity as an expert on the subject.
On a tangential note, a lot of what KyleB has said about wanting to move into baseball GMing helps illuminate what HBob was likely thinking during this period to whitewash his image. I think he went to night school to finish his degree, which seems completely idiotic, but apparently having a 4 year degree of any sort is a necessity regardless of pedigree to get into the GM pathway.

FWIW, on Bill Simmon's podcast he also claimed to win a lot during the 2011-2012 lockout year where the season didn't start until Christmas, and he realized the books totals were too high as they weren't properly accounting for rust from the lockout*.
*As a segue, most of my sports betting memories are horrible beats, but I do have a fond memory of the Christmas 2011 Lakers-Bulls Christmas game of the line opening -3 on one team and then closing -3 on the other team (I dont remember which or why), and I took +3 on both teams and hit the middle.
Lol who the **** are you bro? Anything I do I succeed bc of my work ethic. Ask any decent person who knows me. And no, like 95% of the slobs in here don’t count. They can probably barely deadlift 2 plates for a single. Pathetic.
No one is trying to go pro here betting on sports, ya dingus.
You aren't even close to the upper echelons of strength or muscularity in here, whether natty or not. Plenty of people have come before you deadlifting over 500lbs at lower bodyweights, natty. I did 24 pullups as a young 195lb natty while snatching 242lbs and cleaning 295lbs. Extreme OGs did some crazy #s in bench like Saw or RealBusto. Even Dunyain in his younger days had some bench strength far beyond yours, all natty. Stay humble; you got off to a good start and showed promise, but you ended up losing years of progress by following really stupid training that wasn't meant to be followed for months/years on end. Even the author of the program you were spamming didn't design it to be run for very long. If you had even a fraction of the humility or intellectual curiosity of the average poster in your log you wouldn't have wasted so much time. Having work ethic isn't enough in the iron game; it needs to be applied intelligently and you've dropped the ball on that. A lot of the people commenting in here have better work ethics and better lifting numbers...
And several people here are already pros in sports betting (not me, I haven't gambled since 09)
(this is just gonna get grunched)
For those of you at home who wonder what a real yuppie does, I'm considering getting an F350 with spacers and full size dualies, but the big debate is whether I should get a propane boost or not.
My next door neighbor is filing a zoning plan for essentially a shop to build racing motorcycle engines. Now I do not indulge myself in those death traps. But when someone is building racing engines...they're a ****ing dork. I can talk about all the autistic data **** and they will lick it up, because car people are idiots and aren't actually "car people". They just wanna row some gears in something that is way shittier than a miata. But that is super okay.
I just need to find an dualie 350/450 with a reasonably lux interior. Throw a lift, throw a propane inject, and be done with it. N1 is azn, I'm half. We need to "lean in" to our culture which is apparently big trucks and hand guns.

Thanks, I appreciate your opinion on the matter. Without knowing anything, I assumed his narrative makes sense - although the Lakers future thing has always seemed kind of insane to me...but I also don't know why he'd lie about that instead of saying something like "I took my skycap money, finally turned myself into a winning gambler, went on a heater and was able to invest in analytics, blah blah blah."
The Mavs thing was fun to follow - I believe he did it as a "for fun" type thing although it doesn't sound (from his stories) all that fun. An interesting experience, but not fun.
He does seem to be good at running a D3 (now D2) Spanish soccer team - which is cool, although completely irrelevant to his origin story. He also likes dogs alot, which seems even cooler. Again, irrelevant.
Anyway, I had to mute him on Twitter due to too much election garbage he was retweeting (well, some of it wasn't garbage tbf). I've been a big fan of his but it's good to mellow out my fandom with other opinions (like yours, since you have much less reason to lie than he does).
I actually have a very general question on sportsbetting. Let's say you wanted to simply make 100-200/week doing it as a side hustle. It there a somewhat straightforward way to study and get good enough to achieve this? It's not all that much money so I assume it takes getting banned out of the equation too. Or is the amount of effort involved not worth 100-200/week?
Dude a -110 bet has to win 53% of the time.
So no.
I only play to hit the big parlays and gonna retire.

yes, if you put in the hours to understand it, you can easily earn that much a week no problem
the problem to winning at sportsbetting is ego and scale
you first need to not do what n1h is doing with "bears will win so i don't care what the line is" which is an error on two accounts that he a) thinks his personal hunch is more informed than a multi million dollar market and b) thinks line shopping is for cucks
like i told him earlier, if you just see what is an arb against circa and only bet the non circa side you'll do pretty well for yourself - this means you'll almost never have things like "bears to win" but you'll have stuff in the more ignored markets like "bears o1.5 fg" and "bears qb o215.5 yards"
Sports betting is not my cup of tea. But you can make 100k+ no problem. Listen to all the podcasts related to sports on Gambling with an Edge. Follow spanky, captain Jack, Rufus Peabody on twitter, hear podcasts with them. Join unabated to get their tools. Profit.
I know a guy that makes 7 figures. He uses some acquaintances as beards and takes 50% action. I doubt he is originating picks. My guess is he is betting steam at slow moving books or getting picks from guys like right angle sports (who has 20 years of verified winning).
He could be originating though and doing correlated parlays at donk books. I know back in 2008 while I was grinding online poker in mexico, they would let me parlay Alabama -7 to Alabama O7.5 in the 1stQ. WTF. But I was afraid of the cartels and only bet 300 to 500.
lol at thinking following people on twitter, especially those three will grant any alpha
rufus is a big deal and sharp but keeps everything close to the vest and is just trying to sell subscriptions
spanky is a big deal but a mover and again offers no insights and is just trying to sell subscriptions
captain jack is a total fraud who just does marketing for rufus trying to help rufus sell subscriptions
as far as touts go, they are legit, but they are still touts offering zero alpha and only posting to try to get you to pay them 1k a month for software you don't need

So loco's take on what and where to start studying seems decent?
no
i would read through the old wells and sports betting threads here and at sbr
everything else you can google search and find some dumbass who decided to blog about the edge instead of qietly beating it himself
this is why now a lot of places have -140 teasers and a push equals a loss - there's legit a few 2p2ers who became millionaires from teasers before the books changed the rules because the wong teaser method became too widely known
in general getting good info will be incredibly hard and a very long and drawn out process and the best way to start is to read the old stuff from back when people were more open about sharing and then from there start networking - but nobody will want to network with someone starting from scratch - despite having the "street cred" of doing dfs for a living, it took about a 1.5 years of seriously doing sports betting before people began to view me as a peer, and even then i'm only looped in on things where i can provide value
but anyone can do top down - anyone can find lebron o22.5 points +110 when rest of the market has it at -110/-110
Well I disagree with rickroll. Captain Jack is legit. I mean he gets invited to BJ Ball, while some chumps do get in, the captain has been around for 20+ years. He was on bj21 since I can remember. He doesn't have a bad rep. The reason I recommended the twitter accounts is because they do podcasts and give massive hints, obviously their day to day messages are not secret revealing or anything. But they will yap on a podcast.
Ok, maybe you don't need the software they sell but I know people making money with it. We had quite a few marginal card players that just went to Betbash and then started making money right away. We also have many leave cards for slots advantage play. The gambling with an Edge podcasts are good for that.
Googling and searching much harder to find good info. There are so many fake sports bettors that the info is hard to parse.
How many of our boys left cards for sports/slots? Maybe 10. Good riddance too, less competition is good. Doesn't interest me that's fosho, I rather retire and coach cross country and teach algebra.
This game EZ
LEARNING TO HEDGE
Spolstra cost me $300 and beyond tilted. U facking moron. Watch last 2 seconds of the game. If that ain’t a bad beat, I don’t know what is.
Hedging is for gardeners
Commanders hail mary and now this one.
U CANT MAKE THIS SHEET UP
Hahahahaha
I am MATH/FEEL hybrid bettor.
What about your Bears bro? Can they cover this week?
That's a bold call bro, no action from me. Bears have lost 10 in a row to the Pack, embarrassing but rooting for them since I benched JLove for Jdaniels.

Yup, I rmemeber the last time they won. Was just a rookie barista and watched the game while I was making drinks on a chill Sunday hiding my phone behind the syrups.
It only makes sense they win after this chaos 3 weeks. Over GB too. It’s the perfect set up.
Lost +900 Brooklyn ML and over 220.5 spread parlay bc Bronson hit game winner last night.
Today is a new day.
