Author Biography - Ed Miller
Ed Miller, originally from New Orleans, holds a degree in physics as well as electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His degree eventually lead him into a career as a teacher, followed by a position with Microsoft as a software developer.
By 2003, Ed was no longer working for Microsoft and began playing poker full time. His personal blog gives credit to the Two Plus Two Poker Forums and books for improving his knowledge on the game, and eventually making him a winning limit hold 'em player. It was during this year that he also made the move from Seattle to Las Vegas.
While in Vegas, Ed met Dr Alan Shoonmaker, who had already authored a book for Two Plus Two, who in turn introduced Ed to Mason Malmuth. It was during this initial meeting that Ed was given the opportunity to put a book together for Two Plus Two. The initial work was so strong that both David Sklansky and Mason joined the project and in 2004 Small Stakes Hold 'em; Winning Big with Expert Play by Ed Miller, David Sklansky, and Mason Malmuth was released. Geared towards limit hold 'em games where many players would not only play too many hands but go to far with their hands, the book was an instant success.
In 2005, Getting Started in Hold 'em by Ed Miller, a beginner's book which focuses on limit and no limit hold 'em, was released.. Since then, Ed has contributed to two other books: No Limit Hold 'em: Theory and Practice by David Sklansky and Ed Miller, released in 2006, and Professional No-Limit Hold 'em: Volume I by Matt Flynn, Sunny Mehta, and Ed Miller, released in 2007.
