So do the bot spammers.

So far, so good.

Fwiw, and I think its been posted before, when I try to open 2+2 from a bookmark it doesnt work 90% of the time
But when I google 2+2 forumserver (so i dont go to the crappy new one) it works 90% of the time. And I do get the verification check each time but its not taking so long anymore

Make your browser's homepage https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28/di... and you'll be in 100% of the time, just a click or two away from a useful page.

My bookmark is my subscriptions page. Works 100% of the time.

I've been getting a CAPTCHA nearly every time I refresh the old site (forumserver.twoplustwo.com) starting right around the time the slow loading problem appeared. Doesn't seem to be a problem with the new site. Happens in both Firefox and Chrome on Linux.

I get this **** all the time. When I finally get to open a thread after 1 minute or more, I ****ing have to go to the same **** again when I go to a new page in the thread I'm already in. I want my money back.

This Max punk better fix this before I get really angry.

Well, ive done the exact same thing and never get in this way :s

BTw, when I am using the old forum layout and I click on a new thread that automatically opens itself in new 2+2 style I always get "Not Found"

Literally the first thread I opened after reading this post, (in the old forum format), was https://twoplustwo.com/Discussion-of-Pok... which, for me, opened automatically in the new forum format. Is that "Not Found" for you?

No, for me this is

Like I get when I go to NVG and try to open the thread "This part of Bryn Kenneys $80M record stood out to me"

Stranger things.

You're not a bot, are you?

Just for giggles, what happens if you go to https://twoplustwo.com/ and start from there? Or https://twoplustwo.com/News-Views-and-Go...?

Fwiw, I notice if I go to https://twoplustwo.com/News-Views-and-Go... I get the Error 404.

Site is super slow for me too. Surely due for an update from vBulletin?

Haha, no im not a bot, I just play like one :p

The strange thing is, when I use the old 2+2 I see that Bryn Kenney thread in the NVG
When I open the new 2+2 in your second link (which is awful) and I go to the NVG section the whole thread doesnt exists

I guess thats the problem

And yea, the last link also gives me the 404 error

The BK thread had been deleted in the new forum for some reason. I've undeleted it, so you should see it now.

Assuming you do, let me know if you find any more Not Founds and we can check if those have been deleted, too. I know there was a previous problem where threads in the new weren't being deleted when threads in the old were, but I think Max fixed that. It's possible that the BK thread was simply deleted accidentally in the new, and that has accidentally highlighted a new problem where deletions in the new don't carry forward into the old - which they should. Perhaps one of the moderators uses the new and they sometimes delete threads which no one has noticed aren't being deleted in the old?

Mike what was he fix again to make it NOT go to a new vbulletin layout when I click certain threads, you posted it in anohter topic by someone but I cant seem to find the fix

I dislike new style 2+2 a lot and really like the old style (as do most others here).
Therefore I always use the following trick to open new style made threads in the old style I prefer:

by Mike Haven m

I have this problem, too. Until it's fixed, the simple workaround I have used so far is to click on the OP's username, then click on the relevant post by that user - which opens the thread in the old forum format.

This is a bit annoying workaround but all old style enthusiasts will likely use this trick quite often anyway.
Therefore I would very much like an option for 2+2 members to always open a thread in the old style. Would that be possible?

It saves the trouble of the annoying workaround but I am not and will never use the new 2+2 style anyway

It's like having 2 forums in one at the moment. I am also seeing posts on the new style get replied to less because as you say most people don't like that style (including me) plus you also have to sign in again.

There's no way to sync the old and new forums so a post made in one posts to the other and vice-versa?

Right now it's like there are separate threads that exist in only one version or the other. It's dividing the traffic so that neither version has much engagement.

I've been using the new forum, because the strategy threads have been more active there, but then I log in one day to the old forum and see I had an IM, and some thread responses that I never saw in the new version.

Also I hate when I get that message, "Older responses are viewable on our legacy platform," or whatever. There's no way to sync those older responses into the new forum?

I've been experiencing a lot of bugs in the new platform recently, so I would much prefer to use the old platform, but be able to participate in the "new" content.

Examples of bugs:

Pages often take forever to load. This is the number one problem IMO. At times the site is borderline unusable. It's like you're accessing the site by dial up modem in 1990. I'm not sure if this is due to limited server space or what.

Threads initially look fine when I navigate to twoplustwo, then a few minutes later the page reformats so that there are black bars on the right and bottom of my phone screen. This goes away if I refresh the page, but it is annoying. I don't experience this on any other sites.

Bug error messages pop up often.

Double posts are common. I see it with others and it happens to me as well. Sometimes I click post once and two posts show up in a thread. Other time I click post, and nothing happens. Then I click it again. End result is either 0,1 or multiple posts showing up in the thread.

When attaching pictures duplicate pictures attach at times. I click the picture icon, select the Jpg file and two versions of the same picture post to the response. I then have to edit the post and delete the code for the second picture.

There are some additional issues as well but that's enough to get my point across.

I don't mean to crap on the new version. I do really like certain things about it, like the notification feature especially.

Also, some of the long time posters may hate me for suggesting this, but maybe some of the subforums need to be combined/eliminated?

There are too many subforums for the amount of traffic the site is getting. I often see a post from a new account get made in a less active forum, and several days go by without a single response. Of course that new poster likely just moves on to a more active site. This is a missed opportunity for engaging new users.

Alternatively, a "new posts" window might be a way to ensure that some regular users at least see posts made in less active forums.

Anyway, I hope something in this post is helpful.

An example of the bug causing multiple duplicate post. See the end of the first page. One person's short post was duplicated 5 times and the very next poster's was duplicated twice:

there is a thread that i posted in that was the legacy style

today someone else posted and now the thread is in the new style and adding the forumserver. prefix breaks it

https://twoplustwo.com/General-Poker-Dis...

as a result, it's tied to this legacy account and i can neither interact with it to clear it from the unread posts nor unsub

if my subbed threads feeds gets clogged with ghosts like this then visiting here will become a chore and i'll stop - but that's probably best for everyone 😀

It's not important to me at all. But i wanted to submit this info:

I had a half dozen posts deleted from my blog out of existence. Mike Haven could not find them, but I am positive I made the posts.

They were not innaporiate whatsoever.

ty for fixing max 😀

ty for fixing max 😀

Is it fixed because I still cant read it?

When I try to open the thread first I get a message saying its only available on legacy forum
When I click on the button to take me to the legacy forum it says invalid path

oh i have no idea, just it's no longer existing on my subbed threads

thread was aids, you're not missing much, classic online poker is rigged stuff

come to think of it, it may just be gone because a mod deleted or moved it

I otbc'ed the guy to fix it for you. You're welcome, lol.

thank you
