I also get the feeling poker is only hobby money anymore even if you are decent studied player. Good games simply are running less and less.
I found amazing game last year, made nice profit. But this year the same game has like 0.25x value it used to have, and its always like this.
Only exception to the rule seem to be the live games in USA. Ridic good games still.
This is changing quickly because “euro-grinder” **** regs from around the globe have descended upon the good American games like a swarm of dour Grindy locusts. The very best games at stakes that matter (above 5-10) are all moving private or hosted.

Eurogrinders don't play games that solvers don't exist for. And they don't go to places with tornadoes and MAGA and actual locusts.

The fear over technological advancements, like the current AI fear porn, “destroying jobs†has never been warranted though-out human history and here the reason why:
In the short term businesses will eliminate and automate jobs to save money and increase profits but this will be immediately counteracted by businesses that will spend the same amount of money and keep the workers to increase quality and service in different areas.
Quality and service will always outpace low prices in the marketplace and we can all see that around us everyday. By any known metric the quality of everything we use today is far higher than it was decades or even a few years ago, it’s production requires far more workers and the prices just go up.
Technological advances through all of human history have always produced more jobs and better products at a higher price. These are all good things! The fear mongering is laughable. We all live in the greatest times the world has ever known. Anyone from the past would kill to be where you are right now, and it only gets better. Ignore the fear porn, deal in facts and logic.

My guess is Nick provided the primary funding for starting HCL using the profits from his real estate investment seminars (allegedly basically a scam). I question whether Ryan had the capital to put it together on his own.
Probably. If you asked me what sort of texts he was sending to female players I would have guessed 10x worse than that. If he sent anything like that to a hustler employee he’s likely gone.

the casino puts up a large portion of the money in most instances. the people running the show are are a independent contractor that can be separated from and the show will get a new production company from the casino. the casino generally wants this stuff at arms length so they cant put their license at risk though cheating or money laundering scandals that might be caught on film. i have no specific info on the HCL deal.

no clue but, sometimes they end up dealing a cushy ILLEGAL private game making over $100 an hour and it keeps things quiet.
Maybe I misunderstood but I thought Ryan basically came up with the money to buy all the video/sound/equipment and finance show production. It's like DGAF's arrangement with Lucky Lady - the casino supplies a room and dealers but show production is DGAF Live's problem. That production upgrade is what I'd thought Nick might have financed. But what do I know - not much 😀

shows dont make money off the you tube income or lame on stream adds like people think, they make money by putting asses in seats at the casino. one million you tube views pays like $5000. its pennies. the casino gives HCL a cut of the rake while the show is on, some deal like that, and im sure its pretty lucrative but not amazing money. people who run these shows have a to of access to whales and can steer them to online sports books, private games and app games they run, thats where the BIG money is.
take a show like live at the commerce, where everyone is operating above board, no one is making ****. everyone is losing money on that. i could use that vehicle to make a mountain like i did with LATB "side projects" but you have to have an OPEN mind. lol.

the airport is basically in the ghetto, theres nothing "romantic" around there. the nearest beach is dockwieler which is only 3 miles away and the best restaurant is Jame (very good middle priced italian). thats your best bet for quick, cheap and romantic.
