Backgammon Question

Hi -Thanks - Just wanted to a confirmation on some of the rules , if I may.Say you had wall but one checker on your bearing off board, and assay you rolled a 6 and a 1, could you bear straight off with the your piece that’s not on the bearing off board , moving 7 spaces? Also when you have a piece on the bar, and say you throw a 3 and a 2 ,and these spaces are vacant or just have one of your opponent’s pieces- can you move five spaces,or a two space or three space, and then once on the board , move”another” piece somewhere else?Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help.

If I understood well your questions: yes and yes.

So long as you can legally move each die seperately, you can move the total as well. In your first question, yes you can use 6/1 to move from the 7 point off. The only exception would be if your opponent had two (or more) checkers on your 6 and 1 points. In that case you cannot move the checker on your 7 point - the 1 would put it on the 6 point, which is not legal, and the 6 would put it on the 1 point, also illegal.
