The race lead seems so big that one could think White could only lose if being hit. But the race lead is misleading: White has enormous stacks on the 1 and 2 point which reduce the race lead and 6/2 4/2 increases this even more. With a big double blue has a chance in the race. So White should hurry to bear off.

Yes, 3 checkers on the 4 point are risky. But with any 6 or 5 Blue has to leave anyway and the bad rolls aren't bad anymore.

If he rolls a 5, or a 6, or 44 he is forced to run. Thats 21 numbers. Also, after 22, 33, 42, 41, 43 he will have to break his board if he wants to stay. Wouldn't you be happy you born off a checker in these scenarios?
