hands review

Hello guys. I am from Europe. Been playing poker since high school. Took it a bit more seriously in 2020. Read Grinder's manual probably over 15 times and have been winning since then, stakes are NL10$.

Either way, I can't help myself but feel that I am on bad side of coinflips, 4:1 odds and overall run lately.

I wouldn't say I have problems with tilt. I read mental game of poker and mental game of poker 2, so I track my hands, review them, warm up before playing and follow a strict schedule on how and when to play (4 days a week, Fri-Sun for 4 hours, then rest mon-tue, play wednesday 4 hours, rest thursday, repeat)

Every 3 months I remove myself away from poker for 10 straight days so I can recover mentally and psychologically.

Either way, since it's been forever that I had a coach, I would like to keep my senses sharpened and my play optimal, so I will share some hands that recently happened.

All games are on NL10, blinds are 0.05$ and 0.1$, straddle is 2BB and Ante is 0.05$

HAND NUMBER 1)

HERO is on the SB with AcJs, about 150BB eff

MP limps, HJ limps, CO limps, BU limps, HERO iso to 1.65$. MP calls, others fold.

Villain stats: 51/13

FLOP: 3c 7d 9d

HERO: cbet 3/4 pot. My idea is to get him out of hands like 44, 55, 66, missed Ax, Kx, Qx. MP CALLS
Pot size: 11.33$

TURN: 3c 7d 9d Kd

HERO: check. He called, so he doesn't have total trash, even though hands like QJ are still possible.
MP checks back.

RIVER: 3c 7d 9d Kd Ah

HERO: check. I checked so he would maybe bet weaker ace or missed straight.
MP: bets 8.5$ into 11.33$

HERO: fold

this felt SO strong. Usually when players bet this much, most of the times they do have it. I tanked, tanked and tanked thinking what could he have? If he had flush, he would probably bet a small amount on the turn.

there is an option to pay to see the cards. He had 4c5c so he was chasing a gutter on the turn and flop. Thoughts?

HAND NUMBER 2)

HERO UTG, JdTd 400BB eff
HERO min opens (this was a mistake, I would usually make it 3.5-4XBB)
MP calls, HJ raises to 1.7$. BB calls, HERO calls, MP calls.
Pot: 7:45$

FLOP: 9d Qc 6d
BB is our guy in here. He has 53/2 stats, decides to lead for 7.5$
HERO calls, heads-up. POT: 22.45$

TURN: 9d Qc 6d 6h
BB checks
HERO checks. Not sure what to put him on. He could have a ton of hands, quads or boat, of course there is 78, missed flush draw and missed JT (both of which we block)

RIVER: A spades he checks once more
BB: checks
HERO: bets 17$. Missed flush, Qx, missed 78. A seemed like a great card to bluff this board.
BB: calls with KdQd

How did I play these hands and what can I do to improve in the future? Gonna post a few more hands later! Thanks in advance!

h1 probably x flop

h2 I don't really want to call 15bb pre oop with JTs, but if you're 400bb deep and both are whales I guess could be ok

flop call fine

turn x behind is good (I'm assuming Mp folded?)

river I would not bluff as you have all the cards you want him to fold with, he potted flop into 3 people in a 3bp is some kind of whale etc.

First off don’t post what cards villain had. They are irrelevant to the analysis since they obviously were not known when you made your decisions. All that does is make an objective analysis more difficult.

Anyway, hand 1 is fine PF. Check flop; it favors callers range much more than yours. AP turn check is fine. OTR though you said you checked because you thought villain might bet missed straights or a weaker ace. Villain did indeed bet, so why did you fold if that was your thinking? Playing top pair decent kicker as a bluff catcher it’s probably fine, but you actually have to catch the bluff if that’s your plan. If you are going to fold to villains aggression you’re better off making a small block bet and folding to a raise instead.

Hand 2, opening JTs UTG is fine (assuming it’s not a 8 or 9-handed table) but just fold to the three bet.
