study tips?

hey,
ive been watching a ton of videos and im learning quite a lot but im struggling to read all the books i just got because its so dry and theres SO much to get through. i understand what im reading but i just cant apply it to my game that much. anyone else have that problem or have any good tips to study and get better through the books? i play about 30 hours a week too but just dont seem to be improving. any advice would be great!
