Revealing hands before the showdown?
Hi ! Can a player who is still live in the game ( no limit hold em) show their cards before the showdown . Me personally I think no .
It’s a question that come up in our private game .

If your private game has a rule that says the hand will be dead then their hand will be dead. If you don't have such a rule, then they can do it and their hand is live. Most places do not have such a rule, and I personally don't know why you would impose such a rule. If someone wants to give out that information to their opponent, they should be allowed to.

It varies from casino to casino.
The one near universal rule is that in a tournament it is against the rules to show your cards before showdown. Most times the first infraction is just a warning, but it can be a harsher penalty if there are extenuating circumstances.
In cash games, it really depends upon the casino. Most allow it heads up, but some don't. Some casinos (like the Horseshoe in Vegas) it depends upon the floorperson.
As a general rule though, if there are more than two players in the hand in a cash game it is against the rules to show hands with action pending.
Again, all of this is casino dependant so it would depend upon the rules of your home game.
