Five-card Pot Limit Omaha (PLO5) Strategy Guidebook
Hi all,
I have written, edited, and revised a detailed guide on crushing five-card PLO. It is in its fourth edition. It runs at 24 single-spaced pages right now. I also sell it through my coaching thread on this site, here: https://twoplustwo.com/Coaches-and-Schoo... but may be going with mass publishing at some point (I have gotten several requests to do so).
I play live as high as 10/10/50/100 PLO5. I have a winrate around $100/hr. at live 1/2 $5 bring-in PLO5 over a several thousand hour sample and higher in the big games. I have been semi-pro or pro for around seven years.
The guide costs $60. This price is frankly a steal given the lack of fundamentally sound written PLO5 content available. The guide integrates GTO, exploits, and a ton of equity sims all in one.
To send payment, Paypal $60 as a friend to ichispiro@gmail.com and please provide me with your email address to send copy of the book to. If you are unable to send as a friend (certain international users), I ask that you cover the PayPal transaction fee of $3 (so send $63).
Here is the table of contents:
Introduction
Preflop Principles
A Postflop System of Playing PLO5
Other Postflop Principles
Bluffs
Other Practice Pointers
Conclusion

Thanks,

Anything similar for 4 card?
I read the guidebook. It is well worth the price for anyone from a losing to slightly winning player. If you are already a crusher, the benefits are marginal. For most of the field, however, there is a lot of bang for the buck in the 21 pages.
Dumbo’s strategy guide is a good resource for those playing PLO5.
And his enthusiasm for creating community on 2+2 is welcomed.
This is certainly a very good read and time very well spent.
Anyone here would have certainly won and lost big pots. So investing a lil on this guide is peanuts and would take your game a long way.
Ofcourse I like to play lot more hands, so it’s kinda hard for me to follow the advice
But it does make so much sense
This guide was well written and has a solid coherent structure where it will account for most of the spots that you will run into at small/mid stakes. This is a solid guide that can be a bedrock of foundation for new/intermediate players.
Dumbo also adds to this guide occasionally so it’s well worth the money.

@DumbosTrunk Do people who buy the guide get access to future add-ons?
My current paying students get the updates as part of their coaching at no extra cost. People who already bought a previous edition of the guidebook who are not current students of mine just pay the difference in price from the earlier and latest edition (between $20-$25). I've nearly doubled the length of the guide from the original so there is a lot more content, equities, practice tips, and examples.
I don't plan on additional major changes anytime soon - the last update took a lot of time and energy - but down the line if I do embark on another major update I will consider distributing the new version to buyers of this latest edition at no extra cost, since you mention it.
Is this book for live full ring? Obv very different than online six max!
A lot of the advice applies to multi-way pots (which you see a lot more in live games), but there’s a lot in there that would apply to online games too like equities, bluffing spots, preflop advice, etc. It would still be useful to an online player.
Sounds like you play quite a bit at national harbor, is the book written from that perspective?

The games at MGMNH certainly inform my approach to the game, but I wouldn’t say the book’s advice would only apply to a specific location. You’ll see the same player types and preflop and postflop scenarios anywhere you play. There’s a lot of GTO and exploitative strategy in there that would help in any game.
Book is concise and well written by someone who has clearly spent a lot of time thinking about and playing PLO5, well worth $50.
Very well thought out book written by Dumbo. Would love to go to MGMNH to maybe catch him one day and pick his mind. Check his other threads out.. I regularly follow his journey thread.
I am interested in purchasing the guide.
How should I proceed?
Another review, posted by Goldenduck in my coaching thread, pasting here with minor edits (OP is here: https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showp...
"Always been a lurker and never really made an account to comment anything.
However, recently I've decided to become more serious and invested into PLO5 since in my area that's what they offer.
Played Fold'em for maybe 2-3 years prior and it felt like the game became stagnant after a certain point.
Saw that one of the top players in my poker room was offering coaching and a written guide specifically for PLO 5 card which sparked my interest.
I bought the guide and I'll be honest it's boosted my win rate up by a very considerable amount and I'll give consideration to me running good as well, but the guide itself definitely gave me ideas and a foundation to build off of. That's what guides are meant for anyways imo, you read them and build your own play style.
Definitely will be getting some coaching lessons soon when we can coordinate with our schedules.
In the meantime the guide is 100% +EV for such a cheap price as well lol, grab it.
It's the price of one hand anyways.
Progress for this month alone: 93 hours, around $15k profit."
I received the volume last night and read it thoroughly. It is concise yet rich with information that is thoughtful and well researched and written. For the price of 2 BB, this is an amazing value. It’s evident the author knows what he is talking about and he is offering u a lot of solid advice and common sense for a very reasonable price. Don’t even think twice about purchasing this. You will not regret it.
For everyone’s reference, there are additional positive reviews of the book and my coaching services in my coaching thread:

This is better.

Seems kind of weird there are a lot of positive reviews from posters with only a handful of posts on 2+2. Almost as if they signed up just to review the book. Not very convincing. Also, some of them claim to have a relationship with him as student/coach. Not that proves the Guidebook isn't good. But it's suspicious.

I ask many people who have purchased the guide to write a review if they want. They don’t all have two plus two accounts, so yes in many cases they are creating an account just to write the review. More seasoned posters have also written positive reviews as well, like Bobby Peru.
