florida poker room question
can any blind structure hold game be played in rooms in Florida if all players agree?
like $1/$2, $1/$3, $2/$5,$5/$10. $25/$50 etc.
what about an odd game like $1/$2 NL with a 1K cap. I know going to $1/$3 would be the answer but at the room I play at players want play $1/$3 but they are willing to play $1/$2 with a 1K cap

No. The entity that decides is the casino and whereas players can ask the casino to create a specific game the casino has no obligation to do so. Just as a player you have no obligation to play a game you do not wish to play.
Not claiming to be a FL expert .. but in general it comes down to the Gaming Regulations that the room is operating under (public/tribal/other).
Typically a Room will have a 'published' (or approved) list of games that it spreads and their flexibility comes down to the Gaming oversight.
In some cases as long as it's a variant of NL, it's OK to spread. Where things can get sticky is if a game is listed on Bravo/other as one thing and then when a Player sits down it turns out that other conditions apply .. like a straddle or MTS or RIT. A Player could go to Gaming and complain.
But, again typically, as long as the game is 'posted' within the description that Gaming approved then 'any' conditions may be added to a game.
I see no issues with adding a cap to a game, which essentially is limiting action, whereas both CO and AZ 'recently' made No Limit legal after being stuck in the Cap/Spread Limit Era for a very long time!
In a room that doesn't have 1/3 NL 'approved' then you may be able to add a cap to the 1/2 game, but you also need staff that understands how to run that game as well. so while it sounds pretty basic there could be a few steps that need to take place to set it up. Some Rooms don't like to go to their Gaming Regulators to make changes since it may open up their whole operation to 'questions' .. and some Gaming Boards may only meet 'so often' that an item like this needs to get on an agenda and may carry over to a 2nd meeting if the Board has questions that aren't sufficiently answered.
(And please DO NOT assume that anyone on a Gaming Board really knows anything about Gaming as these could be buddy-buddy appointments) GL
I am not sure poster was talking about a bet cap game (basically spread limit). Given the buy in limits for FL 1/2 and 1/3, don’t know of any larger than $500, a $1000 bet cap would not really mean much. I guess it would protect some recs who double or quad up and become scared money.
I really think poster was suggesting a larger buyin cap so games would play bigger. Thus 1/3 players willing to play the smaller 1/2 game since the higher buyin lets the game play like a big 1/3 or even a small 2/5.
BTW I have seen what larger buy ins (match stack) did to 2/5 here. I bet it isn’t a bunch of recs asking for this. I also bet that the regs who are asking are not looking out for the game long term.
Yes, but even with Buy-ins Gaming Regulations could get in the way in tightly run Rooms.
I'm in the camp shown above .. raising stakes, whether via Blinds or Buy-ins (or both) is typically not going to be good for the game long term.
Letting Players buy in for 2-3 previous BI just 'allows' them to lose them quicker. GL
