More problematic behavior

I complain a lot on here about players, but I have a lot of grievances. Yesterday, this player who does a lot of things that bother me did something else. I raised preflop and the player shouted something along the lines of:

"Oh this guy raised? You know he's got a good hand. You better fold!." He wasn't even in the hand. He was communicating my playing style to other players. This isn't the first time he's done this. The dealer never says anything. He was drunk, is always drunk. and does many things that bother me. A couple of weeks ago, my larger chips were semi-hidden behind my smaller chips inadvertently. He reaches over, grabs my stack of chips and pulls them out in front. Again, nothing said. When he did this I basically screamed because someone was grabbing my chips and I didn't know what was going on.

How do I address this issue? I am not good at confronting people or raising issues with the floor.

BEFORE it happens again, find a friendly floor and let them handle it. [emoji106]

Call the floor as mentioned above but at some point in future situations you will have to address the player directly and the last scenario something along the lines of "please keep your hands away from my chips" should do it. If it doesn't work call the floor.

Some level of confrontation is inevitable and you have to be more assertive or shitbags like this will take advantage.

touching another players chips is crossing not 1 but 2 red lines ... i'm a pacifist at heart, but if someone does this to me he gets exactly one fair warning (a very direct one), and the second time he'll loose his hand. seriously.

not saying you should do this, but you gotta stand up for yourself, or other people will run over you too

The talking should be easy enough to overlook, especially if fuelled by alcohol.

Touching another player's stack, on the other hand, should never be acceptable. As you noted, it often results in yelling or screaming and may even devolve into a physical altercation. After you've scolded him for that, the dealer should also. And possibly make the floor aware should the person be an habitual offender.

If it's one particular player and you're not getting assistance or a remedy from staff, you have to decide if you want to play at the same table (or room) as them.

If you are having these problems and the dealer or the floor isn't stepping in....you have more problems than you realize.

If you aren't good at discussing with the floor, you are on your own. Seriously, that is the correct route to take.

What does "basically screamed" mean?

What does "basically screamed" mean?

I screamed "What are you doing?!" His response was to ignore me and say to the dealer "He does this all the time," treating me like a badly behaving child. No one said anything. I got the sense that I was the villain, not him.

Ok so you have signalled him to stop and he reacted negatively so you will be forced to ask for assistance from the floor if you are to resolve this and if you won't confront this you are left with one option, to leave and not go back which will feel like a punishment for you.

The floor will have to deal with him properly or lose business, can't have players interfering with others chips.

One other possibility is to involve another player maybe to have a word with the guy and see if that calms things. If there is a way to stop his behaviour and keep him at the table you want that route and so will everyone at the table, he has ATM written all over him in that state.
