[The_Dean221] MTT Coaching [Verified]

Hey guys,

A little background, my name is Grayson Nichols, I play as "The_Dean221" on FTP and "graybone" on Pokerstars. I've been a prominent winner at MTTs for 7 years, with over $4 million in cashes, and $750k+ profit. I'm currently a coach and training site pro over at Pocketfives Training, where I film videos and have ranked as high as #17 in the world prior to Black Friday. I was backed and mentored by Alex "AJKhoosier1" Kamberis for two years, before becoming backed by Chris Moorman for the following two years leading up to BF. I've been an MTT regular since 2005, and have never had a losing year. Since Black Friday, I've redirected my focus towards coaching/training, and am currently taking on a couple new students.

I've had success teaching players at any and all levels, from micros to HSMTTs. I came up playing mid stakes for years, and know exactly what it takes to crush MSMTTs and even more importantly, what it takes to make the jump to high stakes. My lessons revolve around hand history analysis/dissection, providing me all of the information needed to spot and plug any leaks you might have in your game. Whether you're a low stakes player looking to make the jump to mid, or a MSMTT regular hoping to learn what separates themselves from HSMTTers, I can be of service. Now providing a free 15-minute consultation with pricing options. Reach out to me via e-mail at gnichols22@gmail.com or DM me with any questions.

If you're interested in what coaching/mentoring with me consists of, please send me a PM and I'll give you a thorough description. Unlike many coaches, I never take on too many students, and maintain a personal and in-depth relationship with each and every one of my students. I am accessible to them at any and all hours of the day, and am constantly chatting/talking about the game with them through e-mail/Skype outside of normal lesson/coaching hours.

If you have any questions for me, don't hesitate to send me a PM. Also, if you'd be interested in asking any of my students questions about my coaching style, I know they'd gladly do so. As I mentioned earlier, I won't take on too many students due to the amount of attention I like to give each one, so get in touch with me ASAP before the spots fill up. Thanks for your time.

You can PM me, post in thread, or e-mail me at "gnichols22@gmail.com".

is that Grayson standing behind you?

Nope, they're both my students! Between the two of them they won $160,000+ in that series. Not bad for a week's work! Awesome job fellas.

I'll be taking on one new student before the end of January. Keep the e-mails and DMs coming (gnichols22@gmail.com). I offer complimentary consultations to prospective students to see if we'd be a good fit.

Great start to the new year, can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of it.

Hi Grayson,

Just to add on to the sea of positive endorsements here I want to say Grayson has been terrific. I found him on 2+2 and my expectations were high given this thread but he has exceeded them.

To over simplify a bit, I would divide poker players into 3 main categories:

1) "Fish": play their own 2 cards, think poker is all about luck, do not understand strategy or theory, etc.
2) "Regs": understand strategy and theory but can fall into over-generalizations like "if he c-bet here, he must have an overpair" or "I have to three bet because I have aces"
3) "Pros": Not necessarily playing for a living, but statsig +EV and versed in GTO play

Rather than help me train with solvers, which IMO is not that helpful to beat low-mid buyin FL live players, what Grayson has done is really give me invaluable info on how to beat the category 2 players, the regs. He has encyclopedic knowledge of their biases and how to exploit them. I don't want to underplay his help on the other two categories as well, but beating regs has seen the most improvement, and as we all know poker players have improved in recent years, so being able to beat fish and play GTO against pros is no longer enough.

I haven't played much live due to other commitments, but online, I have gone from no final tables in over a year to three with Grayson in the last few months, and I only play a few tournaments a week. I recently final tabled one of the big dailies (~800 field) and was eliminated in 8th, but was then sent a compensatory settlement due to alleged botting behavior that was discovered by the online poker site, so I could have potentially done even better.* Grayson has improved my skills massively and is also just a super nice guy who is constructive and has never made me feel bad about any mistakes I was making previously.

*This is neither praise nor criticism of any particular online poker site.

Appreciate the kind words, bud!

Busy month leading up to WSOP, I'm working on a lot of written content for my students playing in the Main Event this year. I'll be taking on one new student in June before I head out to Vegas for the WSOP Main myself in early July. Keep the DMs or e-mails coming. Can reach me at gnichols22@gmail.com with any coaching questions or to set up a complimentary consultation. Look forward to chatting with you all.

Gl this summer,

Grayson

Hey all,

No luck in the Main Event for my students or myself this year (busted early Day 3) but I wrote down every single hand from the tourney for my students which has been a great review tool. I'll be taking on 2 new students before September 1st so keep the DMs and e-mails coming. Complimentary consultations available for serious inquiries.

Look forward to hearing from you all,

Grayson

Hello Coaches,
I am looking for a coach for online MTT $20-100 Level tournaments.
I am a winning live cash and tournament player but have always struggled with online tournaments.
I have played for over 15yrs and have a good understanding of all aspects of poker but just need to make the transition to online.
Obviously, I need some coaching to become a winning player online!
Based in Europe

What rates should I be paying for coaching?

Hey all,

Keep the e-mails coming. I'll be adding 2 new students during October and November. It's been quite a good couple of months with students making some big runs and FTs, excited to keep the momentum going to finish out the year.

E-mail me at gnichols22@gmail.com with any questions. I offer complimentary consultations to prospective students.

Look forward to speaking with you all,

Grayson

Hi everyone,

If you’re serious about stepping up your NLH MTT game, I can’t recommend Grayson (aka The_Dean221) enough.

When I first started working with Grayson, I had a rough understanding of Solver and GTO theory, but I didn’t feel confident actually using it in live games ($250-$1000 ABI). After nearly a year of sessions, I've noticed a huge difference:

Grayson’s coaching has given me the skills to make my own profitable decisions, pre-flop and post-flop. One of the key things Grayson teaches is how to adjust effectively to non-GTO and unstudied opponents—an invaluable skill that goes beyond just knowing theory and GTO Ranges.

With so many players today relying on Solver solutions and “standard” GTO ranges, Grayson’s teachings are more valuable than ever. You won’t get this level of insight from any course out there.

If you want to play better poker, Grayson’s your guy.
