GGPoker Security Negligence Left Me Banned for No Good Reason—Anyone Else Affected?
Hello everyone. I've been playing poker recreationally since 2017, and I never thought I'd find myself in this kind of situation. But here I am—locked out of my GGPoker account due to what I can only describe as the negligence of their security team.
For context, I’m currently dealing with depression and, due to the war in my home country, I’ve lost my house and my ability to live there. I’m honestly unsure what my future holds. Poker at the smallest stakes was a way for me to relax—hardly a GTO wizard, just a casual player looking to blow off some steam.
Recently, I bought a new laptop, and that’s when the trouble began: GGPoker banned me. Naturally, I sent them a message, but I doubt it’ll matter. Based on the error code in their screenshot, it seems they flagged me for using some kind of unauthorized program. Let me be clear: I never use a VPN or anything like that. During my sessions, I’m basically only running a web browser. The only thing I can think of is maybe I had Discord running in the background—it might have launched automatically on my new laptop. But that shouldn’t matter anyway, since I wasn’t streaming or sharing my screen. Whether or not GGPoker’s security can detect that, I have no idea.
What really frustrates me is that this is the same site that’s been implicated in serious cheating scandals in the past—yet they’re banning a low-stakes recreational player with just $26 in their account. (I used to have around $900, but like a true “cheater,” I managed to lose it all before this ban.) In my experience, their security team jumped to ban me without taking any time to investigate.
Yes, there’s still a chance they might respond, but after reading countless stories from other casual players who went through similar ordeals, I doubt they’ll bother searching for the real culprits. That’s why I’m here, asking if anyone else has faced the same ban or security issues. If so, I’m considering the possibility of pursuing a collective complaint or lawsuit with the relevant regulatory authorities. I know it’s a long shot, but I’d rather try than just sit back and do nothing.
If you’ve experienced anything similar—or have advice on how to handle GGPoker’s security team—please share your story. Maybe, together, we can make some noise and push for a fair investigation and more transparent practices.

Learn from My Mistake: How I Got Frozen on GGPoker
Recently, I had the unfortunate experience of having my GGPoker account frozen. The reason? Cheat Engine was detected on my device. I want to share my story to help others avoid making the same mistake.
To clarify, I wasn’t using Cheat Engine to cheat in poker or manipulate the platform in any way. I had downloaded it to use with a game called Three Kingdoms. Specifically, I had used a table file which seemed harmless at the time. What I didn’t realize was that simply having Cheat Engine and certain files associated with it on your computer can be flagged as a potential threat by GGPoker.
In hindsight, this oversight was entirely my fault. GGPoker, like most online platforms, has a strict zero-tolerance policy for any software that could even remotely be used for cheating. I understand the necessity of such policies to maintain fair play, but I didn’t consider the implications of having this tool installed for a completely unrelated purpose.
If you’re playing on GGPoker (or any other poker platform), I strongly recommend avoiding software like Cheat Engine, even if you’re using it for non-poker games. The risk simply isn’t worth it.
I can only hope that the issue stemmed from the Cheat Engine table I downloaded and not something more insidious. Regardless, let my experience serve as a cautionary tale: don’t take any chances when it comes to maintaining the integrity of your poker account. Learn from my mistake, and keep your device clean of anything that could raise red flags.
