Coinpoker keeping players money from excluded/banned accounts?
Hello everyone,
I’m writing this in a moment of deep despair and desperation, seeking support and help from the poker community. My name is Andrew, and I am a former poker player at CoinPoker. I’ve been fighting a long and painful battle with problem gambling, and it has cost me everything—my career, my family, my mental health and almost my life on two separate occasions.
In my attempts to take control of my gambling, I registered with GAMSTOP in the UK and made two separate requests to self-exclude from CoinPoker. I thought I was taking the right steps to protect myself, but last week, during a vulnerable time, I found myself creating a new account on CoinPoker using my own personal details: my full name, date of birth, and the same cryptocurrency wallet linked to my previous self excluded account. This should not have been possible, given my attempts at self-exclusion from Coinpoker.
What followed was nothing short of devastating. Over a few short hours, I was able to deposit £8,540.83 across eight transactions without any intervention from the platform. Here are the amounts:
£976.47
£976.47
£976.47
£1,953.77
£731.56
£975.44
£975.26
£975.39
These deposits occurred despite CoinPoker being fully aware of my self-exclusion status. Their system allowed this to happen, which directly contradicts the very principles of responsible gambling that are supposed to protect players like me. I had reached out to CoinPoker before, on 30th May 2024, after I had set up another account with the same personal details, I lost a considerable amount of money then too and I was asking why my self-exclusion wasn’t enforced then, yet my inquiries went ignored, leaving me feeling sick and suicidal at the time.
Now, I am facing severe financial difficulties again due to CoinPoker’s negligence. The emotional and financial toll of this situation has been overwhelming, and I feel as if I am being pushed into a darker place every day. I know gambling is irresponsible, and selfish and I hurt everyone around me, but I just can't stop without help, it truly is a terrible addiction. The only way I can describe what I do is when I am feeling really down, had a bad day/week, I turn to gambling as it numbs out everything around me, and everything dark thought I have. The only thing you think about when you gamble is gambling, and that I guess is the reason I do it, I hope that makes sense.
To anyone who has faced similar struggles or understands what I am going through, I am reaching out for your support. I believe it’s crucial to raise our voices about the failures in protecting vulnerable players, especially in a poker community that values fairness and integrity.
I have written to Tony G and Charlie Carrell, both CoinPoker ambassadors, regarding my situation, but as yet neither have responded.
I am a fan of Doug Polk, so if anyone has his contact details, I would be happy to go on his channel and tell my story there also to raise awareness.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post.
Best regards,
Andrew

They are an unregulated poker app lol. They are not at fault for you being an idiot its their job to rob you. Any arrangements they have with the uk government is probably not even enforced. They are literally advertised as a crypto site so i am not sure why you think the uk was going to help you with your problem. If you want this problem solved please petition your governments to correctly regulate these sites
yea sure i can help,
take responsibility, learn from it, move on, dont make the same mistake again
and please do not act victimized or guilt CP. They didnt steal money from you, you deposited... 8 times!!! We are surely living in the age of blaming others for own actions and I despise it.

While I agree in principle, the guy self excluded and they’re not taking any steps to make that happen. They share some responsibility here, the same way a bartender does for over serving someone.
Funny story. Wonder if he manages to win is he still feeling bad and seeking for Doug Polks info so he can tell a story about a unregulated coinsite like mentioned before.

Lmao I guess people like you are why I can't deposit more than 2k a month on gg or £500 a month on pokerstars ..
Buddy take some accountability.
You decided to play online poker with real money.
So I'm stuck on crypto sites playing against the very people they trying to help.

haha so much this
here in the netherlands its always the same. Some guy with a whiny story goes on television that he gambled away money he stole from friends (what a great guy huh, we should really take advice from him🙂).
then the consencus is that he is not at all at fault here, of course not. It must be the evil gambling cooperations.
Now some parties want to "make all gambling illegal" to protect the children.. so i cannot play on pokerstars and have to click on a popup every goddamn minute because im gambling. Doesnt matter than ive been a poker pro for over 15 years . End of rant
Hi All
Has anyone had money confiscated or stolen from Coinpoker due to banned or self excluded accounts?
I have heard from a few people who say that because they are unregulated they can pretty much act however they want?
How can poker ambassadors like Charlie Carrel and Tony G who have a reputation in the poker industry to uphold, get involved with a site such as this?
The site does not have any protection for vulnerable gamblers and addicts. This may not seem a big deal for many, but for people with a real addiction to gambling this would potentially ruin their lives.
All the well known branded poker websites take responsible gambling seriously, so why does Coinpoker not care about this?
charlie carrel isn't a poker ambassador, and has very little integrity/reputation
sorry for your loss
Recovering addict here with a different vice...
WE ARE RESPONSIBLE for our sobriety. Blaming a business for not having guardrails for YOUR addiction is ridiculous. I see alcohol commercials and ads everyday. Drugs are everywhere if you look for them. Get professional help and stop blaming others.
Unregulated=act however you want=true
I have the feeling they run fake money highstakes Cash games there with every pokerinfluencer they can hire.
Dude stop making yourself the victim here. You opened another account and punted out money that is significant to you. To unregulated coinsite. There is only you to blame mate. And like mentioned. This is like blaming the drug dealer for your problems.

Exactly this, I am possibly not going to be allowed to play for more than €10 or win over €3k or accept freebies if a bill goes through this month. Funny thing though, they didn't apply it to sports betting because it involves horses and they won't dare tread on their toes.
Hate how irresponsible people ruin everything for others. Sure they should be helped but that help should not extend to destroying the activity for people who are in control. I have an uncle who had a problem and probably still does and he came to my brother to try to get his details to circumvent the responsible gaming tools when he banned himself. My brother told him to do one but it just shows what lengths people go to.
Governments and in particular philanthropists in my country are to blame with this "its not your fault" crap that we see. Atm gaming, drink, smoking and takeaway food are under relentless attack in my country because one idiot is as fat as a house another sees Jesus every night when he is drunk and some GAA **** steals money and gambles like a hooligan.

how can you? Once again you've taken zero responsibility and seeing yourself as the victim... you're not! But then again its 2024, so many people will feel your pain as they are victims themselves (but ofc they arent as well)
Here is another way you can exclude yourself, speak to your internet provider of all your devices PC, Phone etc and ask them to block access to all gambling sites.
Guys i think you are being to hard on the dude.
Gambling addiction is serious ****ing business. Sure he made a mistake but he doesn't have full control of his actions in this specific regard.
He took steps to help him stay away from gambling but the tools in place failed him.
If a gambling site has a self exclusion tool in place they should have procedures in place too to prevent excluded players from signing up again.
To the people saying you wouldn't com plain if you won. He wouldn't get his winnings if he won.
There is no way coin poker would pay it out they would refund his deposits though. So in this case they should do the same.

Hi,
I've just spoken to the support team and been informed they are already in constant communication with OP over email about this.
We have a responsible gambling policy similar to other poker sites, detailed on our website (find it in the footer on every page). We take it seriously and all emails are replied to within 72 hours.
I have been working in this industry for several years, and I feel the need to share my thoughts. Gambling is an outrageous social problem, and unfortunately, even "regulated" sites carry a lot of responsibility (for example, I can self-exclude from one site, but nothing stops me from opening another account elsewhere and losing everything I have).
As everyone has advised, take responsibility for yourself (I did the same as a player—I distributed all my savings among my family members and my wife to avoid blackouts and losing large sums, as happened to you) and move forward.
Lastly, a personal opinion that might not be entirely relevant to your post: I really like Coinpoker, but like many sites (especially those licensed in Curacao), it falls short when it comes to responsible gambling—there are no tools available to use on the site.
There will be no way to get your money back

We do have self exclusion available, contact support over email support@coinpoker.com. Many players use this. You can decide the time length and which games, it's completely flexible and up to the player. Withdrawing your funds is also possible at any time.
