Crypto Poker Rooms Are Exploding, Safer or Riskier Than Traditional Sites?

Been noticing more poker platforms accepting BTC, ETH, USDT (some even meme coins πŸ‘€).

Pros:

⚑ Instant deposits & withdrawals (no waiting days for cashouts)

🌍 Easier access if your region restricts online poker

🎲 Provably Fair games using blockchain

Cons:

🎒 Volatility β€” imagine cashing out a big win in ETH and it drops 15% overnight

πŸ›‘ Some sites lack proper licensing/regulation

What do you guys think β€” will crypto poker be the future of online tables, or is it too risky compared to the big regulated sites?

Poker platforms accepting crypto as payment and a crypto Poker site is a totally different thing. Pokerstars accepting Bitcoin payments changes nothing but a Crypto dedicated Poker room that only accepts crypto and has other web3 USPs is a different story and success of CoinPoker proves that it's gaining popularity.

Another thing you mentioned was if ETH crashed but most of the crypto Poker rooms have game play in Stablecoins. This way it's always same as if you were playing with fiat. Actually there is no risk this way of crashing.

No site is safe if they can keep your money.

No-KYC and anonymous deposits are hardly a problem. I played over ten years e.g. at PokerStars without ever sending anything to them but money.

If you have a problem trusting platforms like these, then in my opinion it doesn’t really matter whether they use crypto or fiat.

And regarding volatility… what exactly are you cashing out?

1. If you cash out in crypto β€” you can hold it and speculate on the price going up.

2. If you cash out in fiat β€” you can simply wait for a better exchange rate before withdrawing.

Maybe it’s not ideal, but that’s just part of money management when you play using cryptocurrency.

Or use stable coins and don't worry πŸ€—
