Black Friday didn't stop the grey market. If CoinPoker falls tomorrow people will literally deposit somewhere else within weeks. Everyone that deposits already knows the risks involved and yet they still do it. Playing from the comfort of your home on a global site with significant traffic and large prize pools are too enticing. It is a never ending cycle

I'm not sure about that

A lot even read the "blurb" and feel reassured

My name is Teddy, for about 25 years i worked in the finance sector of the UK. That went well so i was fortunate enough to retire and now spend my days pottering about playing poker and chatting on 2+2 forum which is the reasoning behind this post. To credentialise myself, ive worked representing both for and against companies involved in the biggest financial scandals ever seen. That was literally my day job for many a year.

I’ve been on CoinPoker for a while now, prob about a year i think. I’ve found it fine, deposited and withdrawn in crypto without drama, and watched the site evolve through market ups and downs. Sometimes withdrawls were a bit slower than dsired but on the whole not an issue. I I also find i general the "feel" of playing on there v v good. Ive also found the customer service top notch both via email and via the rep on here.

Over last few months ive noticed that ive been defending coinpoker on this forum more and more. Primarily some chap known as "transparency" appeared on the forum. I argued with him quite a bit about his allegations against CP. Still do in fact , but thats fine, we are grown adults capable of disagreeing.
Then he gave me a paper he had put together and i agreed to review it. I sat down and read it Some readers will dismiss it as a hit piece written by someone hunting for scandals and i think thats kinda due to his previous ranty nature on 2+2 and on X, both of which ive argued with him about. Turns out though, its actually a pretty impressive, well thought out, paper.

The report is a mirror, sometimes unflattering, that the poker community is holding up to CoinPoker. And yeah well im old enough and been through enough to know ignoring the mirror is rarely a winning strategy. We've seen it all before havent we, when we all ignored or turned blind eye to full tilt throwing their cash about like lunatics, or when Russ set himself up as a superuser and stole millions from us all, we all left it too late to ask questions those times.

The dossier doesn’t make wild allegations as i expected when he said he was going to email me; it actually lets the facts speak. So fair play to him, i underestimated what it would be, my bad dude!

Several parts stand out as worth addressing:

Security and disclosure after the 2024 hack: In November 2024, CoinPoker’s hot wallet was drained of roughly $2 million across Ethereum, BSC, and Polygon. The attacker moved fast and used Tornado Cash. Fireblocks, the security partner, publicly stated the breach stemmed from CoinPoker’s own configuration and third party deposit processes, not their system. The report correctly notes that players were not informed at the time. In an industry where “not your keys, not your coins” is gospel, radio silence during a seven figure incident is quite frankly mental. that was just a bad mistake however we look at it. But whatever, CP did fix it i guess so coulda been a lot worse.

Opaque ownership and corporate structure: The report traces connections through public records, investigative journalism, and ex-employee accounts to ClickOut Media Ltd (Malta) and Finixio Ltd (UK), . CoinPoker has never confirmed or denied this in clear terms. For a crypto poker site that markets itself on freedom and decentralisation, keeping the actual decision makers hidden feels contradictory and risky. Players have every right to know who ultimately controls the platform holding their funds. I get that the ambassadors for the site (Mario and Pads in particular) are stand up guys, i dont dispute that for a moment, but ffs, the current status at this time is that CP owner (unknown as they wont say who the boss is) could v literally rug pull at anytime and we are all fu**** with no recourse to it. Now i know everyone will say "oh they wont do that, they arent that type" but unless we know who the flipping heck they are thats all worthless! We, the players, are quite litterally giving millions and millions of pounds to an unknown individual and the entire safety net backing that is v literally "trust us bro". That ladies and gentleman is utterly and totally, undeniably, ridiculous.

Software origins and past operator history: The March 2026 “revolutionary” new client appears to be based on technology from ********** (shuttered after India’s 2025 gaming ban), a connection first reported by industry outlets and never publicly acknowledged by CoinPoker. The dossier i was sent also surfaces prior regulatory warnings and marketing controversies linked to the apparent parent entities in adjacent verticals. While some of this is pre-CoinPoker history, it contributes to the overall risk perception and links back to above concerns about "who the hell is holding my money?" Itr ridiculous enough that an unknown entity holds the power in the first place but to then discover the only names vaguely hinted to be in that position are companies that have v literally rug pulled previously, well thats just silly now really isnt it.

Regulatory grey areas and suppression patterns: The site’s Anjouan licence is functional but offers limited player recourse compared with stricter jurisdictions. T&Cs prohibit UK and US players on paper, yet the site happily accepts them a common offshore workaround that leaves everyone in a legally ambiguous spot. Indeed its a spot where my past 30 years of work in the finance sector of the UK comes in useful and why i feel i have a right to voice an opinion on this matter.
I kinda get why CP dont want to ever answer anyone when asked on the forum "are UK players allowed". Of course they cant answer than without dropping themselves right in it from regulatory point of view, thats fine, its cool they allow all to play in reality. Problem is of course is they also have to have in their own T&Cs that UK and USA players are specifically banned. Which takes us right back to the outrageously overhwhelming issue of an unknown person literally being the puppet master to all of this. Not only can the unknown owner rug pull us if he (or she) wished but he will be legally covered when he does so as the T&Cs tell us that.

The paper i was sent about CP goes on much longer but those are the main point i felt were worth talking about. I promised the sender that i would not publish his paper and i shall therefore commit to that. I may well have disagreed with him a lot over the past few months but hes always open and honest with his thoughts and i, and indeed we all should, respect that and as i state above, he does make some valid points here. A open discussion/ explanation to these points is indeed required by coinpoker as otherwise, we would all be fools to even vaguely risk a 'full tilt version 2' occuring.

These issues aren’t invented. They’re documented, public, and in my view deserve direct, transparent engagement rather than deflection
Despite the above, my personal track record with CoinPoker remains strong. Customer service has consistently been the fastest and most helpful I’ve encountered across any poker platform crypto or fiat. When I’ve had questions or minor issues, responses have been prompt, human, and solution oriented. The bot purge in January 2026 (98 accounts banned, $156k refunded) showed the team can act decisively when problems are highlighted. And the new platform, while it launched with the usual teething issues, represents a genuine investment in improving the player experience.
Financial distress signals in2026 are worrying in any business, but especially one holding player funds.The real risk isn’t that CoinPoker is uniquely evil it’s that opacity and silence turn manageable concerns into existential ones. Doesnt matter how manner times you say "trust us bro"....Eventually people start wondering what you’re hiding

.A practical path forward
CoinPoker has built something that thousands of us still enjoy and trust with our action. The games are fun and i do believe their heart is in the right place, im rooting for them. . But the trust deficit on ownership disclosure, incident communication, withdrawal consistency, and long term stability is real. These are fixable issues if the team chooses transparency over silence.

My modest proposal:

CoinPoker, ambassadors, Mario, Pads etc... it’s time to deal with the community directly dudes, and i promise you guys im rooting for you i really am. Why wouldnt i, i want you to be a success and i think youve done absolutely brilliant so far with CP

so please...lets make this a win/win for all parties..Answer the fair questions raised by..

Explaining the ownership structure.
Detail the post-hack improvements and future security measures.
Clarify the current financial health.
Address the T&Cs versus actual player base reality. Show us the updated Proof of Reserves. ( i get this one is tricky btw)
And commit to better, proactive communication when things go wrong.

As someone who has defended the site when it deserved defending and who recognises that some of these concerns are valid, I’m in a good position to moderate fairly. The goal isn’t to make anyone look bad or foolish, its to show the world that actually Coinpoker are great.
