How about just explaining your idea here and the safeguards that will be in place to ensure a square game?
Firstly, there won’t be any bots, so that might be good
Then there is a VR social aspect, where you can be ”there” and play as if in real life
There are a bunch of technical safeguards such as full server authority and such, that I won’t bore you with, ensuring that ”hacks” are impossible
By all means, bore me.
Well, server authority pretty much means that all the relevant data is calculated and determined by the server, so that client has no authority to change or manipulate anything and cheat. It’s basically what every prominent online poker game does to safeguard against hackers
IMO VR poker is a terrible idea and will never be preferable to regular online poker.
With online shopping would you rather visit a virtual reality replica of a shop walking through aisles trying to find the product you need, or would you rather see a simple easy to read list of all the available items.
The reason modern poker sites don't change the UI is because it's easy, all VR does is make everything more complicated with 0 benefits to the consumer.
I personally wouldn't be interested in playing VR poker at this point in time.
If the technology progresses to where your opponent's real facial expressions and mannerisms were actually represented then I would reconsider. Then you could incorporate reading physical tells.
Really though what's the point of playing VR poker with a faceless avatar of the person?
