Why do people play online poker?
I have only recently got into online poker and I haven't played high stakes yet. Honestly I find it hard to see the appeal sometimes because it feels almost entirely luck based. Trying to bluff seems impossible as most players seem to snap call from the start. One of the hardest parts for me is not being able to see anyone’s face while playing. In live poker, picking up on physical tells or reading someone’s reactions can give you a big edge, but online, it feels like flying blind.
If someone can explain to me the actual benefits playing online I would like to hear it.

I play because people like you still play
So that I don't have to play at a live table and deal with my opponent's body odor. At home I am the only smelly person.
I'm looking to expand my poker horizons and would love to get some recommendations for good places to play online.
I’ve been playing a bit on Club.gg recently, and I’ve also spent some time on Ignition Poker recently, and I have to say, I’m impressed with the software and design. The site just feels really polished, and the user interface is clean and easy to use. One thing I really appreciate is the anonymity of players just makes the game feel a bit more balanced. It also has a nice variety of games and tournaments, and the software seems to run smoothly across devices.
If yall have any recommendations let me know!
What you have access to depends on your location. Where are you located?

You don't have to wear pants.
No decent casino within 100km of me and I would rather jump into a pit full of cobras than play with my friends. Used to play home games with them but they like playing with 5 potrippers.
Only reason to play live is basically that you arent good enough for online.
Compared to live poker, it is a good way to practice against tougher competition at a much lower price point.
Or that you actually like leaving the basement, being around other people, and being able to leave with your winnings and not have to worry about losing months of income because of shady sites or government intervention.
You are officially the first person on 2+2 to ever say Ignition has good software. It is an abomination. It is one of the best American facing sites out there, but there are definitely a ton of cons.
My biggest joy of playing online poker is having the ability to throw my cat across the room everytime he jumps on my desk onto my keyboard. I literally have a tag on PT4 that says "GODDAMNKITTEN". I wouldn't have this much fun playing live.
However to truthfully answer, Convenience is the most common reason. For some, including myself, find Live Poker boring. Its super slow. You may never get out of a downswing in a lifetime playing live. I'd rather 12 table online than sit in a casino for 8-10 hours a day.
