2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Last one for the night. Wasn't planning on going RB/RB, but Breece fell to 2.2 so I felt obligated to take him even though I'm not very high on any Jets.
QB - Mahomes, Caleb
RB - Gibbs, Breece, Warren, Charb, Mitchell, Guerendo
WR - Pittman, Godwin, Rice, Odunze, Jeudy, Pearsall, Roman Wilson, Mims, Toney
TE - Bowers, Jonnu, Parham

Breece in the second is great. I think he is clearly in the elite 8 tier to start the draft. I'm not in love with Gibbs in the first but at this point it's a fairly flat tier.
Your WRs are deep but no superstars. Obviously this is what happens when you go RB/RB. I don't like Pittman where he's going. This could be Toney's year.
I love Bowers. I feel like there are some better choices than Parham at the end of the draft.
Obviously you are super strong at QB.
The Puppy 2 is already half way filled so I'm only gonna end up with maybe 20 teams.
QB) Hurts, Carr
RB) Swift, Spears, Ekeler, K Miller, B Allen, T Bigsby
WR) AJ Brown, Nico, Tank, Ridley, Worthy, Mooney, R Wilson, Mims
TE) Engram, Bowers.
I don't love my RBs. I got sniped a bunch in this one. I might have a blind spot but I think Ekeler is going way too late in drafts. He was hurt most of last year and played behind an awful line. This is my first draft with Swift. I'm not a big fan but who knows.
I like the possible Ping/pong effect of Nico and Tank. I opted not to go with the Stroud stack since I had Hurts. If I got sniped on Hurts I would have pivoted to Stroud..
Bowers fell about 7 spots in ADP so he was an easy pick for me. I like the pairing of the steady guy with the potential league winner. I came one pick from Andrews who would have been the perfect bring back for Nico/Dell.
He's my favorite late round TE in drafts where I want to go with 3.
I think he's in a similar spot as Kincaid. Playing with a talented QB on a team with a ton of questions at WR, and I really can't see him competing for targets with Hurst or Dissly.

I can see him land in the end zone a few times this year but I just don't see the upside. This is gonna be a low volume passing team.
Switched to Underdog from DK and 1. The drafts seem way sharper. 2. It definitely forces you to go 0 or here rb , which is my preferred style
Feel like this is one of my best drafts there
Qb - Stroud, Herbert, Maye
Rb - zamir, pollard, c brown, charb, R Davis, Pierce
Wr - Chase, Nico, Diggs, Ladd, Jsn, Johnston, Pop Douglas
Te - Andrews , Fant
Probably about the third or fourth year where I'm "I want to do a trillion best ball drafts" but can't be arsed to work it out

The UD WR avalanche is real. UD basic strategy at this point has become at least 4 WRs through 7 or you're dead. The UD market is certainly sharper than DK, but it can still be exploited once you have a feel for the dynamics.
That's a fun draft. Draft capital well allocated. My only nitpick is maybe 8th WR instead of Maye, but it's minor.
I just drafted an extreme zero RB where I didn't take my first RB until the 10th. It could work. I debated 3rd QB or 7th RB and decided 3rb QB was more valuable in my room.
Jayden, Dimes, Nix
Gus, Ekeler, Dowdle, Allgeier, Ray Davis, Khalil
Chase, Metcalf, Nabers, Terry, BTj, Ladd, Sutton
Andrews, Juwan

You have to really have the motivation. It takes a lot of time and effort to put in solid volume and plus keep up with player news and takes from other best ballers to feel like you're sharp enough relative to the market.
Slow drafts help, but it's a commitment.
Big news. I'm a big enough degen that I just converted to a red badge on UD.
Haha, I think it just means we know ball.😆

I like this a lot
If your picking 9-12 in best ball what guys are you targeting ? I hate these picks unless if the top 8 falls .
Extremely frustrating draft, where I got sniped on my QBs repeatedly. Feel like this sucks , but who knows
Qb - Geno, Bryce, JJ McCarthy
Rb - Warren, Singletary, C Brown, Lloyd, Herbert
Wr - JJ, Nabers, DK, Hollywood, Addison, Watson, Thielen, Pop Douglas
Te - Andrews, Bowers
Drafted bowers after I got sniped on Love and felt like naked Purdy was gross (I could’ve gone Pearsall/Mitchell later but meh).
Then drafted Thielen and Pop in spots where I just was worried that I needed to create more outs for qb stacks later, since I didn’t wanna be completely locked out of stacking
Mostly just follow ADP, so Puka/AJB/Wilson, usually skip Gibbs in the first, but will grab him on the turn if he falls
If Breece is there I’m mostly fine with him too
Breece fell to me so I was happy with that. I hate everyone else and I usually just click on AJB.
This is a fun draft. Lamar Jackson went 6th overall and tons of people reaching for picks.

I think you made it work. RBs are weak, but I see paths for all of it.

Agreed, I just follow ADP until 1.12. AJB recently flipped Puka on UD, which I think makes sense, but I had been taking Puka over AJB due to ADP. The best I've gotten Breece or Bijan is 1.11, maybe once at 1.12. It was fun the few times AJB and Puka fell to 1.12, so I could double tap them.
I want be around 6% of Gibbs, and I've seen him fall as far as 17, so I will scoop some of that. I rarely take him right at 12. And when I do, I usually take Aiyuk or pull up Deebo for w17. I mostly create different combos at 1.12. Marvin/London, Marvin/Olave, Olave/Adams for w17, Marvin/Aiyuk, etc. Pulling up JT over Gibbs and tacking on an mid round 2 WR is also fun and unique. I usually get creative from the 1.01 and 1.12 with the double picks.
There really aren't any bad picks in the first round this season. Last year, both Ekeler and Kelce felt pretty bad and ended up not paying off.

So far I've got
AJ x4
Gibbs x3
Harrison x 2
Nico (one of my first drafts)
Also I've mainly been doing the $3's on DK, but have entered 3 of the $20 so far and I've picked 9th, 11th, and 12th
Here’s the finished product .
Qb : Dak , Kyler
Rb : Breece , Kamara , Spears, Pierce , Estime, Aj Dillon , Laube
Wr: Marv , Dj Moore, Diggs, Shakir, Mike Williams , Thielen, Johnston , Wandale , Michael Wilson
Te: McBride , Freiermuth
Obviously my rbs leave a bit to be desired , but if I hit on a couple of the late round guys think this team is

Really don’t like naked Dak. Also feel like if that Dak pick was a wr, this team would be great
Otherwise a solid team
Trying to back stack when taking the QB first is always tough.
I think that's one thing that throws me off in SF. Most of the time, you take the QB first and then chase stacking partners plus w17 correlation, a lot of times not within ADP. But the ADP doesn't seem to be that sharp anyways. I'll see RBs and WRs going in different a order than they go in 1QB.
I have no idea if I'm doing it right or not.
