2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Thoughts on a naked QB, but correlated with week 17 opponent.
So something like Hurts but no one else from Philly, and then with Lamb, Ferguson, Dowdle.
Could that work or is that just being unique for the sake of being unique?
Said I was done for a while, but I lied. I think this is one of my favorite tms so far
Dk Milly
Qb - Hurts, Nix
Rb - Achane, Najee, Javonte, Chase Brown, Dowdle, Tracy
Wr - Chase, D Smith, Keenan, Godwin, Sutton, Lockett, Mims, Slayton, Ainias
Te - Kittle, Musgrave, Okonkwo

I’d rather just grab Goedert in this situation, 20 picks after Ferguson, but it’s not the end of the world to do this

This team is really good. Really not much to critique
Agreed, nice squad.
We're getting a new Puppy tomorrow. I'm guessing $1 mil, 222k entrants, $100k to first. I bet it will fill in less than 2 weeks.

Yeah, I'll make Goedert a priority and reach up half a round to a round when I take Hurts without Devonta or AJB, which I'll do sometimes if Hurts is 5+ spots past ADP and Josh and Lamar are off of the board. It's real nice you take Devonta early to mid third and Hurts falls to you.
With that said, I agree it can work. It just takes a little more needle threading, especially since you'll be up against Hurts teams with AJB and/or Devonta and/or Goedert if you make it to week 17. But Hurts is one of the few QBs I'm fine taking unstacked, especially for w17 correlation purposes. He can get there with 100 yards rushing and 2 rushing TDs, while ideally spreading around what passing work he does have. In this scenario, you wouldn't want any of his top pass catchers exceeding 20 fantasy points, and ideally 15 or less. While at the same time, scoring well with CeeDee/Ferguson/Dowdle but having Dak score less than Hurts.
The rushing QBs are fine to take unstacked sometimes, especially in w17 bring backs. Josh, Hurts, Lamar, AR, Kyler, Jayden, and Fields. I'll go completely unstacked sometimes with Maye or Dimes late if I'm desperate, but both of those guys also have rushing upside. Once or twice I've had to take unstacked Carr just have a second guaranteed starter, then declared my team dead. Slow drafts can get you.
You never want to take guys like Rodgers, Stafford, Cousins, Geno, Goff, etc. unstacked, even if you have bring back correlation.
Did another one, that I’m uncertain about
Qb - Purdy, Herbert, Maye
Rb - CMC, Jacobs, Kendre, Charb, B Allen
Wr - Deebo, Nabers, Rashee, Addison, Sutton, Palmer, R Wilson, Franklin, Bourne
Te - Kincaid, Sinnott, Hurst
QB - Tua, Geno, DJ
RB - Bijan, Swift, Pollard, Ford, Ray Davis, Hull
WR - Waddle, Metcalf, Kirk, Hollywood, Odunze, Dotson, Slayton, Reynolds
TE - Kmet, Jonnu, Theo

I like it. Maye prolly isn’t needed . Maybe take another rb .
Isn’t the 20 max on dk strictly better than the puppies ? I can’t do underdog in my state so for me it doesn’t matter .
I guess it depends on how many bullets you’d want to fire. I’ll probably draft 50-100 teams for just this contest, between fast and slow.
Also, DK rarely lists new contests, so it’s not hard to cap out volume there at the buy ins I play.
Overall, UD is a sharper site but they have way more volume than DK. I prefer the UD interface. I also like the 18 player teams more than 20.
And UD’s finals are usually smaller.
Probably would have gone 6 RBs and 10 WRs, but it can work if a few of the WRs from QJ through Hyatt hit. QB and TE quite strong.
Here is one of my slows that just finished
Love, McCarthy, Fields
Saquon, Pacheco, Warren, Chandler, Chuba
JJ, Devonta, Kirk, Addison, Watson, AD Mitchell, Downs
Musgrave, Sinnott, Otton
Vert nice!
Just the back up QB could be sketch. That being said I'm sure JJ will be in there sooner than later. I find it hard to believe Fields will sit the bench all year.

Yep! This is very nice.
I've been taking too much Dowdle and it's making me nervous. I can see a situation where the Cowboys bring in a veteran RB who gets cut like Herbert or Perine. I think Zeke is gonna dominate touches so Dowdles stand alone value may not be as good as people think it will be.
QB) Allen, Rodgers, Nix
RB) Breece, A Jones, Warren, Charbonnet, M Lloyd.
WR) Nico, Pittman, Reed, Coleman, Mike Williams, AD Mitchell, Mims, Slayton.
TE) Bowers, Conklin
I had to get a third QB because Allen and Rodgers were on week 12 bye
I wanted to take a third TE but I had 4 WRs with week 14 byes which scared me.
I've decided I'm planting my flag on Brock Bowers.
I don't love my Jayden Reed pick but I didn't like the other choices either so this gives me a little bit of him.

I'd always try to stack if I can. Hurts is the guy you can do this with.
Overall, pretty solid. I'd probably have rather added someone like Dimes or Fields than McCarthy without any Vikings, but I guess he's mainly there to give you a weekly floor at QB. And you had Barkely for Dimes correlation. I've taken Brandon Powell once or twice when forced into late McCarthy with no stacking partner. It's gross, but someone has to be the WR3, right?
Hopefully Daniels or Watson are the guys you need if this squad makes it to w17.
Is this The Chihuahua 2?
This is the Chihuahua 2 which is almost filled. I've only done 5 drafts. I should have paid more attention before getting into it.

I plan to have twice as much exposure to Zeke as I do Dowdle, assuming they don’t bring someone else in. And I’ll be overweight Zeke, since he goes in a range with a bunch of 1bs or guys closer to cuffs.

Seems good with upside all around. I’ve also been trying to increase my exposure to Bowers, especially since I’m soft fading Davante (4-5%) and don’t care for Meyers (2-4%).

For sure. If I play a contest, I like to put in proper volume. I didn’t care much for the payout structure of this one, so I didn’t fire any. Plus, I haven’t had much time for fast drafts the past few days.
I probably do 80% slows and 20% fasts.
I’ve done a few slow drafts but I feel like I draft worse in the slow drafts
Queuing along the way helps a lot so you remember the game plan when you return to the draft. I am constantly looking up and down the board planning future picks in the slows.
But I know the ADP pretty well at this point and can click through 15-20 slow draft picks quickly, especially since most of them are usually near the same point in the draft.

I’m the same way but I just feel like I get in more of a rhythm in fast drafts .

Ya no min cash.
I'm just trying to get a feel for UD after doing all DK the past couple years. I'm gonna do a lot of BBM starting in mid July.

I think Bowers is gonna rise up a couple rounds. He is gonna get a ton of usage both as a receiver and probably a runner sometimes. I think people don't want to be duped again by the first round TE. They also know that TE's take a while to get going. I don't think this will be the case with Brock. He's 100% legit and I am all in. I think he is a super star day one.
I think Meyers is gonna be playing a lot in two TE sets. He's a fine last round option.
