2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Dynasty question.
I have Lamar and Allen in SF 1.5TEP start 10
Guy in my league really wants Lamar (obv)
My team is pretty stacked but I’m open to trading
What would an appropriate price be?
I’m thinking something like
Herbert, McBride, 2 1sts
For
Lamar , Andrews
But I have no idea how to value
Do you hold at 2 te here or grab an arroyo/taylor in the last rd?
Goff, JJ, Geno
Kyren, A Jones, Charbs, Ollie, B Smith, Blue, Tre ETN
ARSB, D Smith, Addison, Jeudy, Pittman, Diggs, Coker, Bech
Bowers, Kmet
Either 2 or 3 is fine for me. I'd lean towards 2 if I'm taking my TE1 so soon.
My first RB/RB/RB build. Could've been worse
Mahomes, Ward, Sanders
CMC, Jeanty, Breece, Stevenson, Mattison
Worthy, Olave, Ridley, Kirk, Hollywood, Coleman, Wandale, Bond, Watson
Kelce, Otton, Chig
I like it
I think I just drafted a good team, but maybe the least exciting team of all time haha
Goff, Maye, Carr
Saquon, Kyren, Neal, Sampson, Dowdle, Blue
Jsn, Tet, Olave, Meyers, Pittman, Ayomanor, AD Mitchell, MWill, Boutte
Laporta, Engram
15-20 is fine at the end
I'd probably take Burrow but only because he's yet to still be on the board anytime I've drafted Chase and/or Higgins.
Yeah, I haven't had a ton of luck with it either. A lot of times I set it up, Burrow goes unstacked or to the Chase Brown drafter in the 4th. But I do have a few of those double stacks.
Hurts Devonta imo. Anytime you get nearly a rd of value on 2 players in a stack that early in the draft you have to do it imo. Plus a v unique combo of players
Agreed. I think I'm clicking Hurts/DeVonta every time in that spot for the value and uniqueness. I was in the 3 spot and ended up getting DeVonta at 51. The 2 spot had Saquon and should have taken DeVonta and then assumed Hurts was coming back around, with the 1 spot targeting Burrow. He did take Hurts at 50.

I'd be surprised if he paid that. That's a lot, even for Lamar, especially with the TEP. I guess it depends on how he feels about Andrews. When making trades like that, I try to break it down by player.
Let's say Lamar is worth Herbert and at least 1.5 firsts, and possibly both firsts, since I'm guessing they're yours and will project late.
So even if we say Lamar = Herbert and both firsts, that just leaves McBride and Andrews.
Last year in my 12 tm league, I traded for Josh midseason. It's a SF 1.75 TEP league, start 10. I traded Stroud, my 25 and 26 firsts, and my 25 second for Josh, Kelce, and Mixon. I think I ended up winning the deal here, but I also knew there was a chance that Kelce and Mixon could be almost worthless by the time we got to the 2025 season. Still, I was happy to just get Josh. I won the ship, so my 25 first/seconds are 1.12 and 2.12

Sometimes I hold 2 TEs and sometimes I'll add a third. I think you made the right decision adding ETN, instead.

I think you did well.

Definitely not flashy but solid all around haha.
One of my goals at WR is for my first 2-3 picks to be a teams WR1. It seems like that's easier to do even if you don't start drafting WR until the 3rd or 4th round.
It makes it harder for me to gauge which opening strategy is going to be optimal, so I end up just trying to mix it up more often.
On a general basis, that seems pretty good, especially for the lower projected offenses. Like with Ridley, what's the #2 on Tenn really going to be worth? He should have a nice target share.
But it could dangerously cause you to be underweight guys like Tee, DeVonta, Jamo, Rome, etc. And while they may not start the season as the #1, they can still produce well enough as the #2 + have contingency if the #1 gets injured.
Got a horrible qb room and got sniped on literally every Carolina wr 10 picks before ADP, but still pretty happy with this squad
Fields, Bryce, Ward
CMC, Henderson, Warren, Sampson, Smith, Blue
CD, Wilson, D Smith, Zay, Ridley, Wandale, Bech, Slayton
Warren, Njoku, Sanders
I think the Panthers are live to draft Warren, so that could also work out. Though, that would completely kill Sanders.
Brutal to get sniped on receivers from that offense lol.
Fields/Wilson is nice. Could hit Ward/Ridley or Ward/Wan’Dale and Slayton.
In the last draft I just did, but I feel like most drafts have been going this way.
Out of 37 RBs drafted in the first 10 rounds
38% were taken at least 5 spots ahead of ADP
16% were taken at least 10 spots ahead of ADP
Out of 56 WRs drafted in the first 10 rounds
14% were taken at least 5 spots ahead of ADP
4% were taken at least 10 spots ahead of ADP
Speaking of reaching. Just saw a guy draft Tank Dell 34 spots ahead of ADP.
You know, the guy that isn't going to be playing at all this coming season.
Caleb, Penix, Carr
Saquon, JT, Judkins, Javonte, Blue
Wilson, Tet, Rome, Ridley, Shaheed, Ayomanor, Nuk, Mwill, Savion
Loveland, Engram, Pitts
I swore I was never drafting Pitts again, but I was about to be locked out of qb after a huge run, so went Penix at 143 and Pitts 146
Picking 185 with a current build of 3-5-5-2 including a Stafford-Puka stack.
A. Take the value with Gesicki
B. Complete the stack with Higbee
I think it’s pretty close and 20 spots that late doesn’t matter a ton. I probably take Higbee but I don’t feel strongly about it bc Gesicki is better in a vacuum
I was in a draft with Justin Herzig earlier and made a few observations.
1. He always stayed pretty close to ADP.
2. He only reached more than 5 spots a total of two times. Once he reached 9 spots to get his QB stack, and the other time he reached 11 spots for his QB3 and that was in the 200s.
3. His final build was 3-5-9-3
4. His build through the first 10 rounds was 0-4-6-0
a. I tend to go 1-3-5-1, but I like the idea of getting 4 RBs in the first half.
One adjustment I've made so far this season is being willing to punt both QB and TE. I don't do it often, but I do want to mix it up some.
I'd be interested to see his roster. I bet he could have even justified a 3-5-8-4 or 4-5-8-3.

Here's the entire board so you can see what other options he had. He picked at 11
