First time getting coaching
Hi all, I found a coach that specializes in 6 card omaha, my main game. He charges a % of profits instead of an hourly.
What would be a reasonable percentage?
Are there any other things I should pay attention to when arranging our contract?
We have a video call next Wednesday where we are going to arrange all the details of our collaboration. Any advice would be appreciated.

It would depend on a lot of factors. But, the ones that would lead to his payment are the following:
1. What % is he requesting?
2. What is your current win rate?
3. What is the length of the CFP (coaching for profit) # hands or time frame?
4. What is the length/duration of the coaching?
5. What are the stakes you'll be primarily playing?
6. Is it live or online?

I don't know, I'll hear that during the phone call I suppose
2. What is your current win rate?
22bb/100 pre rake. at 200PLO I don;t know the exact rake I'm paying but it could be up to 14bb/100 because I play quite loose.

his website states he is looking for long term collaborations of 1 or 2 years https://fivecardguy.com/
5. What are the stakes you'll be primarily playing?
500PLO and hoping to move up. Maybe starting at 200PLO because I'm coming out of a downswing
6. Is it live or online?
Online only
Without knowing how much coaching you're going to get, it mostly just sounds like not a great deal if he is going to have you give a cut for 1-2 years. I don't know who that guy is either... It would go a long way if you can find some known members of the 2+2 community that would vouch for his ability. The website looks kind of click-baity to me, but that is about everything these days so it is hard to judge.
thanks for your opinion. I had to fill in a couple of forms with my poker goals and stuff like that and send him a video of me playing.
