Does Las Vegas have the softest games?
Does the amount of pros offset the tourists who play? After thinking about it I would guess the games play different than other casinos where people who play the majority think of cards as a hobby while like said in Vegas you have more pros and tourists. I know Florida the games I've heard are pretty good I'm thinking that's because there's more retired people who think of it as a hobby and make a hour or 2 hour drive to play and maybe stay over for the night. What ya think? I'm from NY and play mostly in AC and when I played in Vegas it seemed like the games played a lot differently. Pretty interesting

If a casual player visiting Las Vegas , where he will find Moderate to high traffic poker room on or off Las Vegas Blvd ?
On strip - Bellagio, Aria, Wynn, Venetian, Resorts World
Near strip - The Orleans (small stakes mixed games players look here) Golden Nugget (not sure how much traffic there but I have heard that the games are good)
Around Vegas - South Point and Red Rock cater more to locals and arent near the strip.
Vegas actually has likely the toughest live games in the country. If you can beat them here you can beat them anywhere
When I was in Vegas last October, I didn't find the games to be particularly soft.
I played 2/5 at the Aria and 2/5 at the Bellagio in the early morning and mid afternoon on Sat/Sun. Ok games, not great.
I sat at the Bellagio 1/3 while waiting for 2/5, and the 1/3 was indeed a super soft game.
I played just 1.5 hrs in Bellagio's 5/10 at 11pm Saturday night, I remember it to be ok, not awesome.
A lot depends upon the casino, the time of day, the stakes, and whether there is a major convention in town. You want a weekend, a major convention, roughly 9 PM to 2 AM, and middle to low middle stakes.
I think this is the correct answer. It depends.
In my experience, the lower limit games are insanely soft. Far too many players who are the best player in their Omaha bar league in town playing. Especially considering that generally the regs who inhabit these games are easy to play against. They play tight and just live off of the tourists. There is nothing tricky about their play. The games are insanely soft, but not for much money.
However, the medium to higher stakes are much tougher. There are plenty of semi-decent players who are probably not long term winners, but are are good enough to sort of break even with regular jobs. Also pros who are willing to grind it out and live off of winning 3bb at $2/$5 or 1.5bb at $5/$10. They are not living in luxury but are living.
Mid to higher stakes in Vegas is all about bumhunting. The ability to find juicy games with even just a couple of stiffs is far more important than poker skill.
I always hear during the wsop you’ll find great action games especially for higher stakes. It’s good around the holidays too so that’s about 3 months out of the year
