villain laid enough odds to draw but it cost our stack

Theres been time where i find myself on the turn with 60bb behind and villain puts me all in and i am getting the right odds to call.

Witb a very large bankroll it would be a easy call, but what if i have a small bankroll and trying to prevent going bankrupt? Should i not take the bet because it is too expensive? Do i think less in odds and more in monetary value?

what is the right way to think about odds and price when we are facing high risk of ruin?

If your statements are true the mistake is you are playing too big a game for your bankroll. Think about your bankroll in your game selection.

ive been in these over priced setups where it cost way too much to draw and it just seems stupid because it should be an easy fold when i have to pay with the remainder of my stack for barely enough direct odds.

it just doesnt seem worth it when there will be plenty of better priced spots with implied odds to make drawing worth while.

Maybe im really just underrolled.

it just feels instintive to fold but gambling reasons come in saying odds are right so i take it but it doesnt feel right.

How big of a bank roll does it take to make these spots feel right? a hundred buyins at the min?

If you are getting the right price to make the call, especially if you are still getting it after you take ICM risk premium into account, just make the call.

Loss aversion is a cognitive bias that poker players must learn to overcome if you wish to succeed at poker.

You are ignoring that OP stated he has a really small bankroll. Taking 10% shots that payoff at 10.5 to 1 is great if you can take enough of them; if you only can do 2 because 2 losses and you are broke you should not take them nor should you be playing that game.

I am intentionally ignoring it, because that point was already made. To make it again would be belaboring the obvious. Like you are.

Why does it matter that it would cost you your stack?

The trouble being if you ignore it you give bad advice. If they insist upon playing too big a game they need to alter their strategy to avoid that sort of situation not play that situation as if they had a big enough bank roll.

When you can't afford to buy another stack.
