How should a staking deal / with make up work

If your backer is looking to get out; you send them everything except your share of the profit.

If they're legitimately looking to make it work; don't be stupid. In the case of 'splitting 140' you do absolutely nothing. You keep building that bank roll.

At what point is being backed by that person more of a nuisance than a benefit? If they're looking for you to start splitting at +$140, send them back the entire amount minus the $70 that's yours. Fund yourself, or find a backer who can wait for appropriate gains.

My perspective is that you wouldn't even bother entertaining this nonsense if you were a solid winning player; which means you're likely break even, or just barely a winning player. In that case; the move is to send the entire amount back (-$70), and to then fund yourself. You're giving your backer way too much say and it's likely impacting your profits. You're too worried about paying him back, not worried enough about making more $$$$$$.

If you are in 660 of makeup, then your next 660 of winnings should go to the backer to pay the makeup, and then split the rest of the profit as you agreed to.

I dont see how account balances are relevant to any of this. You should be tracking your results on Buy ins vs pay outs on individuals tourneys/cash game sessions, not deposits vs withdrawals on the site.

I dont see what the difference is between paying your backer the Make Up, and then getting reloaded for the stake, vs keeping that 660 and putting it toward future buyins on the stake, as long as you are keeping track of your results properly.

yeah everything is kept track of - spreadsheets- , just i heard from some ppl - split every proift ( i play 1-11$ BI's so 140$ profit is somewhat significant )

but also some ppl said " build it up / who cares if it goes up n down in short term - long term u will make more "

im starting with a new backer / coach end of month - way better deal - and they are goig to it diff

send me a significant amount of the bat ( about 330 BI's ) ( i play small field MTTs )

and then its up to me when i want to take profit off for PC

they prefer not as many transfers back n forth - n give me some confidence - knowing I have a " BR " that im building up

and yeah to answer ur question - there is no difference at all

im the one lookiing to get out found a better deal

just started doing this - so new to the game / backing

only couple months ago - so too small of a sample to know winning / BE / loosing

sure had a good month to start but -n not putting much stock into it

i found a better deal - 60 / 40 split ( to start ) 70 / 30 after - with unlimited coaching from a high level guy ( compared to me )
with other perks

so yeah my orgiinal backer / and others prefered PC everytime we make anything even 100$ ( which i didnt like / didnt think it worked like this )

totally agree with what u said - should not be worried about couple BI's here couple BI's there for PC -

thats why mentioned in other reply , new backer doing it diff - sending decent amount to start instead of "just enough for couple sessions at a time "\

I can build it up / do what I see fit - and when i choose to take off profit - thats when i do so

buildiing it up in the mean time

what i was trying to get at in my original post

my ( old ) backer - was saying we shouldn't of PC - because i would need to clear Make up 1st

140 /2 ( 70 for PC

that would of meant MU was cleared n we split the PC obvs

( this is how some ppl said to do it - keeping some on sites - so he doesnt have to send right back )

but old backer was saying NO - u should of just sent some to clear some of the MU

kept some on sites - n NO PC n wait
make more send more to clear MU completey - then everything after is PC

so what im getting at - whichh is more plausable

as MTT players do we eventually " clear MU " , n get into the profit n only PC after a certain point ? ( this is how i thought it worked originally )

or are we always in MU - n split profits as see fit

i assumed we clear MU

and when done whatver is left on sites we PC

BTW - he is new to backing ( my old backer ) - so basically figuring it out as he goes - with others inputs

new guy starting with end of month - knows what he is doing

and doing it a totally different way ( not saying it is the right way but - its the way i originally thought it was )
