New game: Pot-Limit Hold'em 3-2-1
I came up with this game the other day, do you guys think it could be any fun? It is like a mix of Hold'em and Omaha.
Some rules:
Pot-Limit
Deal the flop then 2 turn cards instead and a river.
Have to use both of your cards to make a flush, straight etc just like in Omaha. A regular flush would have to be a 6 card flush or otherwise it would be too powerful.
Feels like the game could bring a lot of gamble and fun with lots more postflop similar to PLO?

6 cards on the board never read well (too wide). The hand rankings would have to be measured first, to see if everything is correct there. You can't make a 6 card flush as an exception.

Yeah I thought about that as well, that maybe high pairs would have a really tough time realizing their equity with so many possible made hands out there but I mean it's a bit similar to PLO.
One rule that I was thinking about was to make it possible to make a 5 card straight IF your straight has a 10 in it. So, holding 76 with the board being 89T would be the lowest possible 5 card straight. And with the rest of the straights it has to be a 6 card straight to make the game more balanced. I think the game would open up for a lot more bluffs and postflop play compared to regular NLHE, just like PLO. 😀
Any irregularity within hand rankings will be seen as "weird" or "wrong". If you want to make any changes there, you have to change the whole structure. And this is a problem. I tried to do that many times and always failed in the end. If you make only small changes to the original game, players will always prefer the original.
Consistency of rules is the key.
