Private Clubs: Big Industry, Big Action?

Private Clubs: Big Industry, Big Action?

I recently stumbled upon a private online poker club with some seriously juicy games – tons of action and big pots. It got me thinking about the whole private club scene. It seems like a much bigger industry than most people realize, but I haven't explored it much. Anyone have thoughts on the appeal of private clubs? Is the action generally better than on mainstream sites? What's driving the growth of these clubs, and what are the pros and cons for players?

check that rake! if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

I think the rake system is different in each club. The one I stumbbled upon had 5% rake (10bb cap) and weekly 50% rakeback. So players get half of the rake they generate. I am not sure of the club I have been playing in the past 2 weeks is a good representation of what is actually going on. However the action is uncomparable to an average GG or Stars game. The average VIPIP was somewhere around 40-50%. The only thing I was worried is if they can just block your withdrawals, since you are essentially giving money to a random stranger. But so far its been all good and fair. I figured there is no real reason for them to scam, since they make more money on the long run with rake. Scamming a player would stop them from playing and potentially damage their reputation... idk but so far it seems that some clubs have much softer and profitable games.. so wanted to know other people's opinion..

The scam tends to be rigging the games or creating a feeding pool for their RTA using partners.

If you are talking about online poker clubs, yes, they can be very profitable to run.

Pros are bad players, tons of action, games 24/7. It varies with the club.

Tons of cons for players, though, unless you really trust the club/host/agent/etc. From collusion and bots to non-payment.

I play in two clubs on Pokerrr2, but I know the hosts well. Still not sure that collusion isn't happening. Supposedly there are no bots, but who knows for sure? My rakes are $5.5 max; one club is $4.75.

Nl holdem, PL omaha field is best on private clubs for sure. I played on the ClubGG platform, and I'm really satisfied. So far, I've cashed out over 5K+. Mostly Americans play here, and the players are restricted from countries like brazil and other regular players countries.
