First live poker in over a decade - 1/2NL
What an interesting experience...
Haven't been in the game for over a decade. (Small stakes tourney reg and $10/20 NL my highest cash game. Hendon Mob 10 years dormant since I left the game.
I figured I had a bit of time and decided to return to the felt.
Gotta be a fluke, but OMFG! WTF are these 1/2 games?
In 3 short sessions, under 2hr each, I've accumulated over $100/hr. Like a solid hourly rate at even $5/10. The players are so God damn transparent. Literally wait, make a hand, bet aggro, and let AK bet into you when they don't connect. (That one is crazy)
Are 1/2NL games really like this?
I got the sense from the rail all these years that it was far more GTO all the way down the ladder.
Kinda wonder if 1/2 could be more favorable to a higher poker acumen player, because the skill and experience gaps are as wide as the grand canyon.
So many losing degens it seems.
I mean. IFL it, but it almost feels like I'm the house.
I left every table while I was the deep stack.
$900 profit in 5 hours played. That was a ****ing great day of $2/5 or a solid day at $5/10.
Anyone else go from more GTO/studied poker levels, back to the low stakes "degens who were literally just playing slots" level? Is it really THIS juicy?
Makes me miss playing in Vegas where every night was the same game of fishing for the fish.

Live low stakes games are in fact soft as dirt, the only really tough opponent is the rake. But small sample sizes are small sample sizes. $180/hr is 100% not sustainable at 1/2, nor is $900 profit a “****ing great day of 2/5 or a solid day at 5/10”
Yep, live low stakes NLHE games are full of bad fish. Very few (if any) GTO players. That said, five hours is nothing and doesn't mean much. You should easily be able to beat the game, though, as long as rake/drop don't kill you.
WOW...You played one session in 10 years, ran like god and now you're a pro again?!? GTFOH!!
