Playing fast vs Playing slow in live games

Theoretically your hourly rate should rise as you get in more hands per hour, if you're a winning player.

I don't think that's what you're asking, though.

the speed of how i play is generally influenced by what i want to try to convey through timing tells, reverse tells etc i never consider what the speed of how i play would impact my hourly by increasing my theoretical hands per hour. you're optimizing for the wrong metric.

No one likes to sit there while someone takes over a trivial decision. Like I saw a guy legit tank 5 minutes when short villain shoved $30 into a $500 pot heads up on the river.

I’m a much better player when I take my time on every street so I prefer to play slow while others play fast.

If I see that it bothers someone(s) to play slow, I"m doing it every hand..

It bothers everyone. They just won't tell you unless it's really bad.

I do not mind slower play post flop, but pre-flop should be close to immediate.

If they play fast. you play slow. If they play slow you play fast but its more complicated than that lol

Funny, I thought you were talking about betting a big hand as opposed to slow-playing that hand. But then I realized you’re talking about pace of play and I have no opinion. I just don’t run into it. The pace is always reasonable in the cash games I play. The tanking I’ve encountered has been in tournaments for a big decision and people understood.

Try to play as fast as possible so you don't annoy other players. Don't tank over trivial decisions.
