Live or Online?
Hello all, I'm getting back to playing poker again after a number of years off, though I've kept up with studying and have a decent general knowledge of solvers and GTO.
I live in a state with legal, regulated online poker and also live 15 minutes from a live cardroom. What are your thoughts in what area it's best to spend putting in my time and effort?
Appreciate the feedback!

Spin up a bankroll online and use some of the profits to have fun at the cardroom. You can play more hands online so it should be faster, it will make the live play more fun if its "house money."
But in the end, its a you preference. Living that close to a poker room must be awesome. If you like the live/social side, stick with it. If its purely profit, do online. Mix it up if you like both
wtfs going on whys there no good poker apps?
I live in Las Vegas, 8-minutes from The Strip, so of course I can play at a variety of live rooms, within a short distance, as well as online.
Personally, I prefer a live environment. Sitting alone in a room, by myself... just for the money isn't enough to feed my poker addiction.
Despite the fact multi-tabling can increase your hourly rate over that of a live game, I want to enjoy the social aspects of playing across from other players. It's one of my favorite parts about the game.
Being a low stakes player ($1/3 - $2/$5), I find too, playing mostly online on WSOP, those games can be much tougher, especially as you rise to as low as the .25/.50 games. However the smaller games the .05/.10 games, etc., can be profitable without the need of leaving the comfort of your own home. Because there's usually so little money involved. in these smaller games, bad players will more often shove, giving away their stacks to their patient opponents. Itβs crazy how soft those games can be and and how much you can make as a side gig in the comfort of your own home. But then online poker opens doors to collusion and bots, etc., so there's that risk as well.
So, it's really up to you. Your personal preference. Do you enjoy meeting, visiting, and talking with other players around the table? Or do you prefer the solitude and convenience of staying home? Your mileage may vary, and you can always play both.
