A valid strategy for getting ripped imo.

CPI attempts to include this:
If you own we pretend that you rent for the all in cost. Most people don't even realize structures depreciate, so good luck getting a normie to understand economics. Substitute goods keep on getting better so there is a decent amount of tech joy getting boiled into CPI, which again is only one measure of inflation, which can mean a myriad of things. Man, you really need to read the text walls.
Yes, I said, CPI is fine. Rich said, LOL CPI. What matters is basically people's recollection of what they paid for things including "housing". I asked if there is some other measure if he would prefer over CPI. Like a lot of things, I never got a response to that.
Also neither of us was limiting to just consumer prices, so first bolded doesn't apply.
So if I am reading things correctly you guys are all right wingers now (except Melk of course) and I if I want to be edgy I have to veer left, correct?

Obviously not literally everyone, but how is this news to you? Did you never wonder why you generally only ate the banhammer over in politards, but here you were fine (I think...not counting if a politard mod came over here and banned you. If I wrong about that, then never mind).
Always thought they were extremely heavy with the banhammer. I always argued against your bans when they came up. It wasn't really about you, though. I'd have an extremely high threshold to ban anyone, and despite many terrible posts, you were never even close, imo.
Do we all understand universal health care is a misnomer? It isn't universal nor does it cover "everything" like we expect in the US?
I just want whatever definition gets gigachad Emoken on my team.
I do think that most people understand that the "universal" part isn't meant to be taken literally. There are plenty of countries which would appear on a list of countries with "UHC", but everyone gets the same, extremely shitty health care. Presumably Emoken wasn't referring to that kind of UHC for his based utopia.

You can definitely adjust which CPI you use to get a more accurate calc for the folks you're commonly discussing which I would assume to be rural/suburban flyover folks who would have outsized exposure to food/fuel compared to a comparable urban basket. (Housing would also be relatively much cheaper.)
I'm still not going back to read a tedious and pedantic discussion on politards.

You would be surprised when folks learn that bizarre end of life care in the US that accounts from an obscene % of the overall healthcare burden doesn't actually occur in the rest of the world. You just get put in palliative care and when you go you go. You don't get to keep meemaw on the machines for an extra week for
Also, sending people to foreign countries for low probability surgeries doesn't really occur. You either come up with 50-500k or you die.
And prob the most bizarre thing is that most places connect UHC to employment, which makes no sense since if you get sick... not being able to work seems like one of the first things that happens.
Regardless, poor people need some baseline of care along with free emergency services.

That is the type of response he could have given, but that would have required him to walk back his initial rejection of CPI that he began with.

That's obviously the correct play, but it's going to be a problem if trying to comment on said discussion.

True. Same is true at beginning of life with infants who have zero chance of anything resembling a normal life. We're really good at keeping humans technically alive.

Welcome to the club, comrade!
While I usually enjoy both sides of the political aisle considering me the most odiously extreme person they'll grudgingly allow into their tent in certain situations, you can keep me separated into the right leaning centrist pansy bucket on this one.
Fack, we lost Monte! He was our MVP.
I'm not sure that's how any of this works.
Wait, there are rules?

If you lift heavier you tend to vote for Trump. If you want to be edgy and irritating in the same way people say dumb people vote for Trump, you can say weaklings vote for Kamala.

I am a member of one of those countries. I had a severe skin reaction last year. I got to see my GP pretty quickly and he put me on some Steroid.. which caused me to gain 25 lbs. I was put on a waiting list to see a dermatologist. After 6 months, I finally got to see him and he switched me to a different med. It has taken me over a year to lose 20 lbs. and I am still working on the last 5 or 10 lbs. If your health care issue is not life threatening but only causes pain/suffering you tend to wait a long time to get treated. Cost = maybe $200-$300 for creams and meds.
Quality 8/10. Cost 8/10 Speed of service 2/10.
Well, that's obviously true here in H&F. I don't know what Dunyain is up to these day but he was quite strong also.

It's unfortunate that reality is irritating to you. I'm actually not sure about that part if we are talking about America at large. Nobody even lifts. I think a better way of making the point you are trying to make would be if you are strong like bull, then you tend to vote for Trump. I suspect that is probably true.

Sorry that happened. Two out of 3 ain't terrible. Quick, cheap, and good is difficult to attain.

The point i was making College Educated-> Smart->vote for Kamala
Men -> lift heavier than women -> vote Trump
the edgy version..
(Not College Educated ->) dumb -> vote Trump
(Women -> don't lift - >) weakling-> vote Kamala
For the insulting version, skip the part in brackets.
Obviously we all want to support our chosen flavor of country along with having a strong social support network. So some grouping of nationalism mixed with socialism. National socialism if you will. If only there was a catchy abbreviation for this.
Melk: So what's Orange Man's plan to deport millions
Rich: Oh, don't worry, Homan has a plan
Then a bit later:
Rich: I haven't seen a plan for school security from Biden/Harris. Obviously they don't give a ****, if they don't have a plan. Where the **** is their plan?
Biden and Harris have been in office for almost a complete term. If they had a school security plan, we'd know by now. They don't. All they do it post about how we should ban some guns every time there's a school shooting. And, FWIW, when someone is killed by an illegal, there are no posts from those two about it. Biden and Harris recognize only deaths that align with their political aims.
Trump, OTOH, has yet to start his second term. The fact that he has Homan in place and has discussed specifics about border security puts them well ahead of where Joe and Kamala are on school security.
You can't be that obtuse. You're clearly just trying to argue.
As an H&F mod, I can share with you that it doesn't work that way. We green mods aren't allowed to ban posters for content in forums we don't moderate (aside from spammers). We use the report function, same as everyone else.

Oh, nothing edgy about that either. That's true.
I was assuming that you were accounting for gender (e.g. men and women who lift tend to vote Trump, which might also be true). My bad. As you have stated it, it's not wrong.

LOL. So many ways to go with this post. Let's try this one.
So we're just giving Orange Man a pass for not having and implementing a successful "school security plan" during his first term? Why is that?

Maybe my recollection is fuzzy on this, but is the following possible?
1. Politard forum bans jdock
2. They discover he is posting on H&F under a new name
3. They claim that he is circumventing ban and ban new account, even though new account never posted in politics forum.
I seem to remember something along those lines, but I could well be wrong. Jdock could never help himself and always ended up there repeatedly .

I didn't say anything about Trump's first term and I'm not Trump's defender. I know "what about Trump?" is the go-to defense for Biden, but we were talking about him always talking up school shootings, only to offer up a "solution" of eventually banning some guns.

If a person (I don't want to reference any specific poster) was banned site-wide due to posts in one forum, he could then be banned on sight anywhere in 2+2, even if he steered clear of the forum where his posting drew a ban. If he got banned from posting in one forum only, he should be fine in other forums. But, he would not have to create a new account to do that, so it seems it was the former and not the latter.
I intentionally didn't look up jdock's history because I don't want to discuss his specific history here.
Good to see we're focused on the really important issues, like school shootings.
LOL WAT? Well, for a non-defender, you're doing a whole lot of defending.
I know "what about Trump?" is the go-to defense for Biden, but we were talking about him always talking up school shootings, only to offer up a "solution" of eventually banning some guns.
Yes, for any issue that one might discuss, "what about Trump?" on said issue is a legitimate question.
In any case, here's the real issue. You don't actually care about "having a plan". The problem is not that Harris "did not have a plan for X". The problem is that you don't like her policies, objectives, values, etc. It doesn't matter if she has a plan for anything or not. You wouldn't like it. The main reason she or most Dems don't have a "school security plan" is largely because they don't believe that it is realistic. Yes, they think gun control is a better approach. Yes, you disagree with that. Their problem is not a lack of a plan, per se. And because they don't have "school security plan", it doesn't mean they don't care about school shootings (which is the nonsensical conclusion that you were trying to draw).
The reason why we know you don't actually care about plans is because Trump pretty much never has any. I'm sure you remember his "health care plan" that he always promised was coming out in "two weeks" and never did. He has no plan to reduce inflation and some of the things that he wants to do will increase it (tariffs, deporting undocumented workers who do not demand great wages or working conditions). And it's not just you. People who vote Trump don't vote for him because of his plans. The entire demand for specific plans is disingenuous. They don't actually care.
Are we really using party mandated newspeak like "undocumented"?
Also, there is a lot of work you're gonna need to show that removing criminal immigrants will increase inflation (by whatever ******ed definition you wanna use).
Well, it's true. They are undocumented. Sorry to disappoint you. Feel free to use what ever descriptors you like instead. I'm not disputing them.
Also, there is a lot of work you're gonna need to show that removing criminal immigrants will increase inflation (by whatever ******ed definition you wanna use).
True, but I don't need to do it, because I'm not the one demanding plans. He is. But if you don't believe that is true, that's OK. Just ignore it and focus on the tariffs. Very little work needed there. You could even ignore that too. Doesn't change the fact that Trump's doesn't have anything that a reasonable person would call a plan on the matter.
Also, I wanna use CPI. Which I believe neither you nor I think is ****ed at all.

Lets pause here.
You think that they are "undocumented". I'll let you unpack that. Feel free to engage in whatever sort of weasel words you want, since we are discussing both documented and undocumented immigrants who have violated federal law to enter or overstay in the US illegally. DACA applicants, prospective dreamers and any number of actual illegals in America who have been subject to temporary reprieve fit this definition effortlessly. But lets hear some more **** from Brave New World.
But you don't have the faintest ****ing clue what you're discussing. So go off bro.

I don't think it. It's not disputable. The ones I was referring to in my comment are indeed undocumented. Yeah, there are probably some documented ones too that Orange Man would also like to deport.
If you want to call them the other stuff too, you can do that. I haven't disputed any of it.
But you don't have the faintest ****ing clue what you're discussing. So go off bro.
LOL, the guy who isn't actually reading the posts involved, says I'm the one who doesn't know what I'm discussing. Cool story bro.
Here's the cliffs: the specific immigration policies of Trump, Biden, Harris or anyone have almost zero to do with the initial point being discussed. The specifics of those policies or the words you want to describe the people being deported are completely irrelevant to my point. Yes, Rich seemed to want to talk about that stuff a lot. He was also very confused at the beginning.
