Bodybuilding Classic Physique Division Offseason log

Bodybuilding Classic Physique Division Offseason log

You know you who it is already. Can't recall my old password or even what email I used so here we are. I promised I'd start logging if legend n1h did. So that's why I'm logging.

Short term goal:
Successfully formulate a relatively optimized and easy to adhere to offseason diet model. In terms of food selection, I am more or less following Chris Tuttle's recommendations. Our very own BGP has been getting some free diet stuff from Chris since he has a full client load but will send a handful of emails to people for free if you ask nicely and want help. If you don't know who that is, go on youtube/instagram and see the man's work.

Remain injury free, which is easy with my new exercise selection which loco would describe as "leg press and lat pulldown 4 lyfe"

Adjust to a more strictly bodybuilding programming style as opposed to a "powerbuilding" style.

Here is the medium term goal:
2024 summer on stage in classic physique division at a level that would be competitive for winning a pro card. Winning the card itself is immaterial for the medium term, it'll happen when it happens and I will be patient.

Possible obstacles to this goal are gym closers due to continued zero covid policy, possibly moving countries and being unable to focus on prep in the interim, or international political disaster. All of which are legitimate risks.

Ostensibly we will start competition prep late winter 2024 and do a very long slow 20-24 week prep where I never need to bring carbs lower than 200g/day.

Long term goal:

Compete in one professional level show in the classic physique divison in the next 10 years. Don't really give a **** about placings.

Natty: No. Test, deca, mk677, humalog, cjc with 1295 with DAC, berberine (although the last one is both a PED and a general health supplement). Low doses. high dose AAS are massively overrated for hypertrophy, the real magic is the insulin and gh (or gh secretagogues in my case). less than 1g of injectables with PEDs that work on the IGF pathway is much better than 3g of injectables, for example. I'd advise anyone who wants to go down the PED route to incorpoate gh or gh secretagogue peptides along with insulin while they are still taking 1cc of test per week before you ever add any other AAS or increase test dose. You can keep your AAS doses much lower if you actually address this very critical muscle building pathway rather than solely relying on AAS, which are harsh... man...

No prep drugs or harsh AAS until the aforementioned 2024 late winter date.

Diet: High carbohydrates with carbohydrate cycling (2 high days the day before my 2 leg days, 1 low day on the day off, 4 medium days per week offseason), moderate protein around 1.125g/lb of bw, low to moderate fats. I tried a high fat Palbumo approach in both offseason and precontest this academic year. It was a ****ing disaster; this is a terrible way to diet for bodybuilding. Although if somebody is not trying to look lean/dry/hard on stage and maintain athletic performance in the gym, it'd be a great diet to follow because antecdotally it can lead to very high compliance for some individuals because it just destroys so much of your physiological cravings and lowers appetite considerably. Somebody like the apple-pied obese woman who's username I don't even remember might do well on this because she could probably eat 80/20 ground beef bunless bacon cheeseburgers twice a day for an emotional high, not feel hungry the rest of the day, and have only consumed like 1800~ calories daily.

More detailed post with training program and food log to follow. I'm a busy man.

what anime is a good one to start watching for people who've never given them a chance but doubt they'd be impressed (have seen a bunch of the classic films and never really thought much of it - stuff like akira and moving castles etc and totoro and monoko stuff just meh imo)

Berserk 1997. Still the GOAT imo. So ahead of its time. 2016 don't bother. 2012 film trilogy movies are okay actually but abbreviate the story a lot. It has some 15 year old boy fighting stuff which is not great but the main story is just fantastic.

It is dark. It is emo. It is absolutely twisted and disturbing. It completely turns normal storytelling tropes and mythical archetypes on their heads in a way that only a game like Bloodborne does. It actually basically inspired all the Fromsoft Soulsborne games with references to Berserk scattered across the games.

lol that's incredible you'd rec it because that's the one thing i've ever seen and i loved it

saw that in 2006 but then moved out from living with the roomate who showed me that and in with the gf who became long term and that was it

i figured it was probably not representative of the norm given how it quickly went from homoerotic violent to straight up "omg wtf am i watching"

Man... I know this is the Emoken thread, but I got so many feels on this. So I'mma pop off with a small one. So I've watched probably thousands of hours of stuff across a not very diverse part of anime (dude stuff).

So some questions I'd ask? What do you like about animated stuff? Batman TAS is amazing. The Last Airbender is amazing. (I'm working through Legend of Korra atm). None of this is "anime", but there are western animated cartoons. Why do you like them? Can you articulate that idea to an

Your contributions are appreciated. I love anime, which is perhaps obvious to anyone who's followed my logs.

I remember watching Gundam Wing in the late 90s or early 2000s on cable tv and enjoying it a lot more than DBZ which was also popular at the time. I kinda want to watch it again to see if it holds up as a grown-up.

DBZ is really overrated and not that good despite its huge fanbase. Dragon Ball was surprisingly good though.

rickroll I'd also recommend Korean anime Solo Leveling. It's not actually "good" in the same artistic way, but it's "fun".

by NotThremp k

I'm aware. I was simply talking about the filler bullshit.

One of the weirder aspects is when we look at HW WLers, strongmen and PLers. PLers are the only subset of strength athletes that benefit from obesity. If we even widen this to "strength sports" like highland games (shouts G4S) and their associated real sports (throwers, etc), we see that none of these people are obese. Some are definitely fat but they're more elite HW WLer fat or strongman fat than Jabba the Hutt (women are weird tho, won

Pretty much. I still have a lot of respect for the athletes that take powerlifting seriously as a part of a broader health and fitness lifestyle, but the guys who get intentionally obese for it are ******s. I mean, at least if you're a 185cm+ WLer you can justify your obesity because WLing is your career and how you make your money, but pling? The money they make is all from social media rather than competition results anyway, and being lean is obviously the smart play for that. Larry wheels became a multimillionare largely because he was lean and muscular lifting those weights instead of the typical fatass lifting those same weights or even more.

My son went through an anime stage he has since outgrown, and I admit I enjoyed watching a lot of it with him (Naruto, Demon Slayer and Black Clover mainly). My wife tried watching Demon Slayer with us once, but I guess she just had bad timing and picked an episode that took place entirely in a brothel, and she was out.

try Claymore

original Ninja Scroll is fantastic, the series follow up is okayish but I really enjoyed the music

Fate series (Zero is my personal favorite)

Stein's gate for a different take on time manipulation (although that one might trigger all the autisms)

Violet Evergarden for the feels

ohhh I forgot about this. I got about 2/3rds into it in 2022 and loved it but it was during my disastrous keto prep and I got derailed and forgot to finish it. Thanks LOL.

There's basically 0 wokeism in anime or most Asian studio made video games. ****ing Witcher 4 violates all previous lore to have a female protagonist, latest dragon age veilguard is literally a self insert trans simulator complete with a scene in which one character berates the audience for misgendering somebody.

That said, there were still some games that had woke/gay/trans elements from the past that still managed to be actually good; just most woke games are also unplayable slop that are more concerned with pushing their satanic ideology than they are with making a fun to play game.

Brainstorming something like this:

Back+chest+delts 1
low incline 3 sets
machine fly of choice: 3 sets
unilateral pulldowns 3 sets
underhand rows 3 sets
Pullovers: 3 sets
delt raises 2 exercises 2-3 sets each

Arms+lower 1
EZ curl: 3 sets
Tricep pushdowns: 3 sets
dual cable curls: 3 sets
db skullcrushers: 3 sets
Leg extension: 3 sets
seated ham curl: 2 sets
Leg press or FFESS: 3 sets (alternate for each lower 1 workout)
lying ham curl: 2 sets

Back+chest+delts 2:
Machine press of choice: 3 sets
flat db press: 3 sets
chins or pulldowns: 3 sets (???)
Machine rows of choice: 3 sets
Pullovers: 3 sets
Delt raises: 2 exercises 2-3 sets each

Arms+lower 2
EZ curl: 3 sets
Tricep pushdowns: 3 sets
dual cable curls: 3 sets
db skullcrushers: 3 sets
Leg extension: 3 sets
seated ham curl: 2 sets
Paused toes elevated SLDL: 2 sets
lying ham curl: 2 sets

3x/wk alternate "upper" and "arms+lower".

I want to change because the leg days make me get up to pee too much at night while I'm on clenbuterol and it ends up wrecking me the rest of the week getting one bad night of sleep on Wendesdays. And I'm already holding back quite a lot on leg press. I could handle this offseason if I didn't have the diuresis of caffeine+clen, but even on mirabegron its unmanageable. My bicep tendon is also irritated slightly once again; I suspect this was less programming related and more that I got lazy with my internal rotation mobility work.

I like have dedicated time for arms fresh and without fatigue. That'd be nice. I'm debating whether or not to include chins again... I might find my progress on them is much better doing 3 working sets every 9 days to allow the tissue to regenerate enough between sessions. I don't know if I'll keep in the v-handle pulldowns or try to find 2 different unilateral pulldown variations.

Either way, I'm going to deload upper tonight after work, go for a 125x15 pr on SLDLs on Wednesday and do kinda whatever afterword, then take friday totally off and don't train again until Monday night. It's xmas break and I'll be back in BKK with a friend from work and a bodybuilder friend who lives in BKK.

Claymore is great. (Hot blondes!) Fate is derived from a porno visual novel. Tho I do find the plot device of "you must nut in me to replenish my mana" rather clever. Couldn't get into Stein's Gate and have not even tried to watch VE.

If you looked at the people in the West who make games vs the people in the East, you'd understand why this is instantly. The amount of troons and literal blue hairs at Gamescom or GDC is appalling. But this is where we are.

I did have a fairly enjoyable advisory call where one guy was drunk and just kept shouting "WHERE IS THE FUN?!?" repeatedly.

The only anime series I watched was Hikaru No Go, about the board game Go. I was a keen player at the time. I can recommend it; it is a good read or watch. (

Games should be made by high IQ nerd men who didn't get any pussy in high school and maybe still don't get any now. Maybe the occasional woman on the spectrum and chad male to work on games like halo and madden. But they should probably be less than 5% of the people working on a game, even if its a game with a largely female audience. Otherwise I wanna see all aspie sub5 guys in the game studio staff photo. When they're made by trans and neurotypical women they just turn into total disasters. It'd be like a bunch of straight powerlifter guys with training as plumbers designing women's high fashion. Or airline pilots working on designing the latest barbie doll.

So basically you got three groups: 1) Game designers - The people that design the story, the mechanics, the setting etc. The best of these are mostly smart dudes, but there is nothing that inherently stops a waman from being very good at whatever it is. 2) Programming - What most people associate with "making games" but these people are useless peon slaves who have a overwhelming sense of self-importance. 3) Art - Usually led by 1-2 people in an art direction/concept art-esque role with a metric **** ton of women here. (This includes hentai games. Those big throbbing orc ***** aren't drawn by dudes.)

Frequently there will be a big disconnect in a lot of larger Western companies between these various groups where the game designers (and the attached biz folks that keep the company actually functioning) are viewed as out of touch suits and the "real game developers" are the peons who should have a greater voice in creative control. This leads to Sweet Baby sneaking in to put in troon representation or you get a whacko in art direction and they turn Lara Croft into a troon with smol bobs, etc.

Ultimately anyone can make games, but so much of it is divided by gender both within the studio and with the audience you're designing for. A f2p pet petter has a very specific audience much like any of your mobile drag racing titles. Or farming simulator that isn't quite as bad but still over 80% male. But this feeds into common tropes where dudes are more analytical (likely due to their background of how they get into the field) where the women are more feelsy, and you gotta make products based on data and not feels.

This is a semi-related segue, but both me and my sister grew up reading fantasy books in the 90s-early 2000s, before the genre became so politicized. And looking back it is interesting how I naturally gravitated towards (mostly) male authors with themes very similar to anime, and my sister gravitated towards female authors with a very different style. There was nothing overt about said selection. It was just every time I started reading her books, I quickly lost interest.

Guy,

That is obviously clear for virtually any anime of that length. I'm watching Bleach and I'm mired in some asinine bullshit in Season 13. I'm 250 eps in and have another 150 and somehow everyone teleported away from a WORLD ENDING EVENT to **** around with another WORLD ENDING EVENT.

I mean, that's Bleach. I stopped watching a long time ago when I had caught up and realized each fight would take months to watch.

Really good. Even better (imo) is March Comes in Like a Lion (MC plays Shogi - Japanese chess). It's amazing but manga has come to almost a grinding halt. I should mention it is not like Hikaru No Go in terms of plot or anything. But as someone who plays chess (sporadically it would seem), both focus on somewhat similar games.

I don't really watch anime - I mainly read manga and webtoons (mainly manhwa) recently. I'm a "professional" Tower of God gacha player which probably just proves I'm bad at life. But I've read a decent amount of webtoons at this point.

There isn't much to say really. It just kinda reveals that the average woman really dislikes the average man. Having lived on both sides of attractiveness, I think people greatly underestimate just how much women hold contempt for and dehumanize men who they consider to be unattactive. "Your looks ARE you personality". It is just wildly and expontentially more than the other way around. Men just do not exhibit the same level of ambient hostility communicated passively thorugh body language and

Just saw this post. A+. A lot to unpack. As far as the highlighted, historically having a large number of unhappy low status males was a bigger problem because males have a much higher propensity towards violence (which could be channeled against the state), for obvious biological reasons. Whether modern technology (including but not limited to drugs, video games and porn) have mitigated the negative effects of a large number of 'unhappy' low status males is an interesting question IMO.

I have heard the argument that having a large population of unhappy low status males is pretty much a prerequisite for true revolutions. And current birthrate demographics, along with technology, make revolutions much less unlikely through most of the world, regardless of how dissatisfied people are with current power paradigms.

Did you mean to say much less unlikely, or much less likely?

yeah I mostly mean #1 and I'm mostly talking about console/pc games with heavy single player components and usually AAA. The big ticket stuff like GTA/Halo/COD/Dragon Age/Mass Effect/Elder Scrolls/Final Fantasy etc type stuff. That's where neurotypical women straight up just don't belong. They probably do fine in 3 and no neurotypical woman is ever going to want a job in 2 by definition.

mobile and casual/nintendo switch/pet petting simulator/mobile cash grab is whatever I have no experience with that.

Low incline: 15kgx15x3, 20kgx12, 25kgx10x3
INcline machine: playing around; feels good but it's v high incline and decent amount of delt
unilateral pulldowns: 50kgx10x3
HS low row: 1.5ppsx10x3 woooowww this feels great, glad I experimented with this. I like it even more than the hammer rows
CAble delt raises: 3 sets
db side delt raises: 3 sets (this exercise is pretty good, idk why it gets so much h8. I did it b/c benches were all occupied)

This was yesterday. I'm supposed to SLDL tomorrow and my hamstrings are STILL sore from last week; I might delay the workout to Thursday, hit a PR at like 125kgx20 with no backoff set, then gtfo of the gym until next Tuesday

IRL human class race combos: NT or non-NT, male or female, attractive or unattractive, high IQ or low IQ. Basically determines the difficulty of the game. Easiest mode is NT female attractive middle IQ. Can only fail upward. Infinity HP and MP. Just don't get pregnant before your 20s and don't get addicted to drugs/alcohol/gambling and you win automatically. Hardest is prob male, non nt, unattractive, low IQ.

Guys I got involved in accidental Chinese social media cyber-beef. PL guy I met at a meet I can't even remember. It was probably the meet where I was coaching my ex-gf (while we were broken up LOL). For context, he did a "long cut" to support his father trying to quit smoking, like he'll lose weight and continue losing weight if his father quits smoking. In Chinese he's asking for bodyfat estimates so I posted what I think his bf actually is. But I'm sure he was looking to have people blow smoke up his ass and tell him he's 12% and super shredded.

f'kn lol. I wasn't even trying to troll, those were my legit bodyfat estimates.

Pics of 小蔓蔓 thirsting on me in the comments section.

Back to HC

Daily cutting diet is as follows

M1
200g chicken breast, 250-300g white potato or sweet potato (80% of the time white potato), 12g fat from guac, 1 medium green apple

M2
same

M3
100g oats or 125g cream of rice, 2 scoops whey, blueberries, 250-300ml skim milk

M4
Same as M1, no apple but have 500g green mango with chili salt instead.

clen went back down to 40 after a few days at 80. Caffeine down to cup of coffee in the morning; too much diuresis. yohimbine always 20mg

pump+good lighting post workout yesterday. Morning fasted weight 97kg. I've never been this lean with this little hunger and this little fatigue at this high of a bodyweight before. I attribute it to several things: 1. 3x/wk training, 2. very high fibrous carbs and lower protein (240g, very low for me), 3. time under the iron, 4. high dose growth hormone consistently for more than 2 months now (10iu/day)

I've been leaner than this before, but never with such little fatigue. I have pushed stimulants, steps, and deficit so little compared to other times when I was this lean. I could probably be show ready in 8 weeks if I really kicked things up. But I'm hoping to have this level of conditioning around 12-13 weeks out when I start prepping next year for HK local show. I won't try to do nationals, just do a local show. If I manage to hold around this bodyfat coming out of this minicut and start prep this lean it's gonna be totally sick and I'll be able to refeed like every 3 days and probably barely lose scale weight on the way to being tr00 stage lean.

oh almost forgot. Saturday sunday I eat breakfast of lean beef+potatos+bell peppers in tons of chinese oils and 2-4 whole fried eggs at a Chinese muslim restaurant after walking 6k steps to the grocery store to buy my chicken breasts. Then occasionally on a whim I substitute meal 4 for chinese muslim beef noodles with potato, peppers, and 3-5 whole eggs for a post workout meal.

I'll follow this exact diet except do cream of rice rather than oats when I'm in a surplus and just slightly up the overall carbohydrates and have slightly more frequent off plan meals.

Potatos>rice just in general, but I still like the cream of rice pre workout since it hits fast.

Dun,

That is totally normal and acceptable for people to like different things. People are just weird.

Guy,

There is a lot of weird stuff within the gaming industry. I used a lot of mobile examples since that is the most balanced platform. PC is still mostly dudes. And I don't think that it is mostly related to women not belonging but moreso being unable to relate to their users. There is also a weird undercurrent of needing to have the proper background of being a "game developer". Despite being a credited narrative consultant I'm more of a data/strat/biz type so I immediately get shit from both the blue hairs and the scrubby programmer types. I have a buddy who went from head of BD at a company that did a 9 fig exit to starting his own studio who lamented this continual issue when interacting with employees, since he will never be considered a "real" game developer. But he's married to a p hot Chinese woman, so he seems happy.

I don't think your BF% estimates are really accurate, but he's obviously still kinda fat. One of the weirder aspects of being more compassionate and understanding about people from diverse backgrounds is understanding they're probably retarded. So I just assume most people are p dumb and maybe make fun of them on the internet for lolz, but at the end of the day (esp with POC) they're just all townies who don't know no better.

yeah I am not an industry insider and from what I understand you've been in gaming industry for a while. I think it's still really interesting how the culture has shifted (for the worse) among the west and how strong Asian video games have been. Your commentary on this is appreciated.

The past few years even before I started following this stuff I was finding my tastes gravitating more toward Soulslikes and JRPGs and I even played a mobile Chinese competitive game that just got it's English port to the rest of the world "Honor of Kings". It has about a 60% female userbase despite being a competitive MOBA and it was a great conversation maker with hot monolingual Chinese women who were baffled that a foreign male would even be familiar with the game, let alone intermediately proficient at it.

Right now I'm playing the Dragon Quest 3 hd2d remake and Hongkai Starrail. I played Genshin Impact for a bit over a year before dropping it. That game is a good example of wasted potential... It had really fun gameplay and storytelling as just a single player ARPG with very unique party mechanics, but ultimately they found it way more profitable to focus on the GACHA waifu simulator aspect of the game. It felt like the actual main story became an afterthought sometime in the game's life cycle and they realized it was better to keep people in the monotonous loop of grinding for primo gems to get new characters to grind for new artifacts to do the spiral abyss to get more primo gems to get new characters. They release new characters at a frenetic pace to get the whales spending and mostly ignore actually adding content to the single player RPG aspect of their game. The voice acting/writing is also very hit or miss with some brilliance and some turbo-cringe. Like damn I just wanna play an interactive anime, I don't want to grind away endlessly trying to get every single new character and minmax them with equipment.

So far I prefer Hong Kai, not just because I like the turn based linear story driven JRPG format more than open world ARPG, but also there seems to be less emphasis on collecting characters. But I have a good feeling I'll get tired of it once it becomes grindy minmaxxing "Endgame".

I really want to play Wuthering Waves, but my pc isn't good enough for it. It runs okay on mobile but I'm gonna wait for the PS5 release early next year. That game really doesn't make you interact with the gacha mechanics and focuses on player skill a lot more.

Then of course Wu Kong black myth did really well and I gotta play that game eventually too.
