Ever played poker at Poker Palace?

Ever played poker at Poker Palace?

I know that the place is a complete dump and poker only happens rarely (Saturday tournament or something), but has anyone here ever played poker there? Really curious what it's like.

You can see the poker room about 45 seconds in.

Once about 15-20 years ago. Unemployed and scrounged up the $20 or $25 that Saturday tourney buy in costs to get my poker fix in. Even back then it was a complete **** hole and filled with exactly the type of people you'd expect to find playing $20 buy in poker in the ghetto. I'm surprised a place like that survived Covid.

I was there in 2015 or so. As noted only open Sat night. There were 2 or 3 tables off in an alcove. Played cash after the 2 table tourny finished. Was an okay experience - more like a home game in someone's basement. Park as close to the doors as possible and time your exit so you go out with a couple of other gamblers. Have played in worse places 😉

Went there once, expecting maybe a Las Vegas version of Hawaiian Gardens. Nope nope no poker no phỏ

HG room is nice... I remember when that Lot was a farmers market and the entire area was Dairy farms and Cows for MILES... Knotts Berry Farm had chickens running free thru the parking lot and there was NO FENCE to keep people out when the park was closed.

I grew up in that area of HG/Lakewood and went to Artesia Highschool.
