Is it okay to conceal the fact that I will play poker from a border officer?
I am preparing my trip to Vegas and found a 2021 travel guide published by WSOP. https://www.wsop.com/2021/WSOP-Travel-FA... On the last page of the document, it suggests that I should tell the officer that I am in Vegas "to participate in a live eSports tournament". I understand that there is no reason to give away unasked details, but technically this is not a true statement. Wouldn't this give them grounds to deny entry into the US should they become suspicious and scrutinize further? Any updates to the guide mentioned above?
To add, in case that isn't clear to everyone: All of this mostly applies to nationals from ESTA eligible countries. Anyone else can't travel to the US without a proper visa anyway.
If you're not a citizen of one of the WVP countries you already have to provide proof of funds during the visa process.
At least from the EU you can't even board a flight to the US without visa/ESTA. Maybe 15 years ago one guy from our Vegas WSOP crew found out about that the hard way.
Getting a tourists visa to come work for 40hrs + a week is a scam.
They need to declare that they are coming to play poker and are poker professionals where they live.
I do not know it for a fact but I do not believe MuckPLS is a pro. I am sure from his TRs he does not grind the poker tables 40+ hrs per week
You can look up and read his TRs here. Or she can ask him.
If your country of origin qualifies, then" Global Entry" ftw
Best $100 I ever spent and it lasts 5 years..
Longer and cheaper than either hookers or blow.
