Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

Is it still possible to get Diamond in a Day?

I have read about it in the past, just curious.

I’ve heard of people getting discounts and resort fees waived through their host when they lose on a trip, but not up front. And to be honest I’m not sure how much the host thing helps nowadays either for all but the highest rated gamblers.

Anyhow, the middle reservation is not made using your CR account. It’s as if you’re just a person off the street. You can apply discount codes which may be available to everyone (such as the WSOP code in the summer), but other than tha

Thank you for the answer.

Alternative B is about $660 and A is about $350 (without getting the extra night comped). Current option is $80.

I think I'll just stick to my booking and ask when I get there to see what they can do. I did that one time before and got a decent rate with no resort fees when I didn't feel like moving. Just never tried to book it all online that time.

In worst case scenario I move. Never stayed at MGM so might be fun to try something new in worst case scenario.

Appreciate you taking the time to write all that.

It's much more difficult to speak with a host now than it was pre-Eldorado. I think they fired a lot of them because it used to be you could walk into Diamond check-in and there would be one or two hosts at their desks. Now, there are seldom anyone at the Diamond check-in, the hosts are centrally located in some office and you have to get them on the phone.

Hey,

I had 2 bookings now for the end of March. I'm comped 3 nights from 25th of March and 1st of April and from 4th to 10th of April I'm fully comped at the Horseshoe. The 3 days in between I am comped at MGM.

To skip the hassle of moving though I figured I just pay the $80 to stay the 3 days at Horseshoe but when I try to book those days I get hit by resort fees. Is it standard to pay resort fees if you fill out the days between 2 comped bookings? Or will it be waved when I get there?

I'm Diamond

You will not have to pay the resort fees. Diamond plus never pays resort fees whether you’ve used up all your comp nights or not. Just show them your Diamond card at checkin and they will waive the resort fees.

You can only use a maximum of 7 comps in any single contiguous stay. The original poster described two stays where he was using 10 total comps. In order to do that you have to have 48 hours between stays. During those 48 hours, you can continue to stay at a CET property, but you *will* be subject to resort fees for those nights.

Finally got my Diamond status renewed! Took them awhile to update their system but it happened at last.

MGM is matching to Diamond Plus and above.

Wish you got the status for the whole year instead of just 90 days

What would be the approach to get on the phone with a host these days for a non-Diamond member?
Got my first adult Vegas trip coming up and staying at the Paris. We've already spent 10k on rooms, we'll be charging at least that much back to the room in food & shows across CET properties, let alone turnover on tables and slots. Would rather get stuff comped off than have to foot the bill myself :p

1) Welcome to the adult world.

2) It sounds like you are coming with a fairly large group of people. If so, you might have some luck by contacting their group reservation line. if you’ve already made the hotel reservation, it might not help there, but they may be able to help you with group dining and entertainment reservations too. More info can be found here:

https://caesarsrewards.custhelp.com/app/...

3) Your ability to get something from a host will be entirely driven by your level/length of play. Since you don’t have an established relationship or track record, I don’t think you can expect to get a whole lot on this trip. But it doesn’t hurt to try.

I don’t think you can speak to a host before you arrive at the property. When you get there, ask for the host office/desk. You may or not be lucky to get a hold of a real person. If not, the desk agent or at least someone can probably give you a number to call, or maybe even have you leave your number. Since you don’t have an established relationship, make sure you emphasize that you are looking to talk to the host on behalf of a number of other players. That may pique their interest more than if you were just on your own.

As a general rule, I don’t think the hosts will care about your dining/show exploits. They are there to establish gaming relationships. And they typically won’t approach a person until a level has been established. If you do get a hold of somebody, you will likely only be able to inquire about what different levels of play could get you. The host will undoubtedly size you up and try to determine if you are going to be a valuable long-term customer. If you tell them you are going to play at a certain level for a certain amount of time, and then don’t, they will not only give you nothing, but will be disinclined to help you in the future. So, be realistic in your promises.

This advice only really applies in trying to interact with a host prior to establishing your rating. Once you establish one, and if your rating meets whatever minimum threshold they have for being assigned a host, you will probably find it easier to get in touch with one. Or they may even reach out to you. But again, I think you have to be realistic in your expectations. I have no idea what level gambler you or any of your group are. But in my experience, casinos have shifted their marketing focus to a relatively small number of high-end gamblers and away from a much larger number of low-mid tier gamblers. This is typically how things are in Vegas when demand is high, as it currently is.

I asked to talk to a host when I arrived at Harrah's Joliet on Sunday. Yeah, that didn't happen. Their online booking system was broke so I had to call to book and they charged me more to book it over the phone than what was quoted online. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle to try to chase them around and just ate it. ****ing Eldorado.

Hosts don't much care what you spend on rooms and food and shows. Their job is to get you gambling in the casino. If you do manage to talk to a host, be prepared to tell him how much you gamble, average bet size, how long you plan to play, etc. You'll want to put in some play before you talk to the host because talk is cheap, and they've heard it all.

Thanks all for the info about hosting!

My opinion. It isn't always easy to get them to respond on the phone. Hosts are generally not as helpful as they used to be. In your case, they won't do much for you unless you are gambling a lot. Do you gamble a lot? I'd say they will start paying attention at $500 average bet for 10 hours. I usually bet more and for more time and still am not that high on their radar screen. I get everything comped because I gamble heavy, but still there are often snafu's when hosts 'forget' and I wind up with a bill. I often have to text/call to get it rectified. I have a very good relationship with one particular host. He has been around for decades, but he is the exception, and I don't always stay with his company's hotels.

Has anyone been having trouble with the Barclay's Wyndham Business Earner matching to Wyndham Diamond? I've had the card since late 2021 and requested the match a couple of times this year. Still haven't seen it. I emailed Caesar's Rewards asking what's up but the response seems scripted. I guess I need to call but haven't had time yet. But has anyone else had issues? Pretty frustrated since it's the entire reason I have the card.

Anyone having trouble matching Wyndham diamond to Caesars diamond via biz earner card use this link: https://www.caesars.com/myrewards/profil...

Found it on flyertalk and I am now pending

Thanks for this. In the other thread I learned about the Wyndham business card from Dr. Meh. I don’t own a business but found an article that said you don’t have to actually own one to qualify for a business credit card. So I applied and received instant approval.

At first it was looking like I wouldn’t be able to initiate the Caesars tier match until the physical credit card arrived in the mail, but the next day I was notified that I had Wyndham’s diamond status. There was a button to initiate matching to Diamond at Caesars but after trying it four times and getting an error message each time I gave up. Then I saw your post and used your link and it went through right away. It said it will take two weeks to complete the match. I’ll update once I’m confirmed Diamond at Caesars.

Glad it worked out! The system to match was down for a bit but working now. I actually had to call them to match mine. Oh, and you’ll have to do that every year, just so you know.

Also, they told me it could take up to two weeks but the match went through in two days.

Have any of you requested employee cards with the Wyndham Business card? No chance those employees are considered Diamond as well, is there?

My business is just me and my business partner so we don’t have any employees. I would imagine it’s just the people who applied for the card, though.

It states on the Points Guy website that only the primary cardholder which would limit it to one person who applied or one owner of the business. Unless there is some way to get more than one primary which would seem to be contrary to the definition of primary.

Yeah, that’s what I figured. I actually applied for the card before taking on a partner so at least that worked out for me.

Is anyone aware of a way to get a permanent status match from MGM Rewards? All I have been able to find is a Status Challenge, which is really just a temporary match and then you need to get in enough play to keep it. Staying at Bellagio this summer and trying to figure out if I can dodge some resort fees by going Wyndham ---> Caesars Diamond --> MGM Gold.

Won't work unfortunately...Caesars Diamond now only matches to Pearl now.
