Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

Is it still possible to get Diamond in a Day?

I have read about it in the past, just curious.

Define better.
Not everyone has the same criteria for what they want from a players club.

As a degenerate gambler that also plays poker, when caesars bought wsop I pretty much went all in w/ CR. I regularly play slots and just about every table game which gets me diamond or higher each year, which in turn gets me zero-cost visits (comped rooms, no resort fees, free parking, free food, etc.). Those are my priorities and I feel like I get value from it, even though it limits the properties I play at

Depends on the actual level you achieve but most important is which benefits fit you best.

For us MGM seems to treat wife better (she is the degen) as a Platinum than Caesar's does where she is 7*. But the 7* (+ Diamond since you get those) travel $ and celebration dinners ($600 total) and travel to 7* event(s) are probably more valuable for us.

Honestly we often have rooms at both in Vegas at the same time or at least some overlap. Last month on one day we actually had 2 CET rooms (me and wife ha

I'm a low-level type (Diamond Plus) that doesn't like to gamble much. I do often play poker, until I'm tired of losing, then I just watch tv until it's time to go home. The only reason I ever got Diamond was because of this thread showing us how to get Diamond with video poker. If I had to pay parking and resort fees I might never go to Vegas again. WSOP is no fun any more without the STT's.

I'm the kind of player that Vegas management doesn't like. I still lose plenty of money at vp chasing card status though.

What's Identity?

Rewards program at Cosmo. But it’s merging into MGM on July 30

Oh. Never been in Cosmo. No poker room.

Heard a (very unreliable) rumor today that Caesar's is looking to sell the WSOP and get out of poker.

Take it with a million grains of salt.

Just thought that was interesting.

Yea I fully admit I'm a **** customer and honestly expected my drinks to be gone when I went to Vegas in late May after hearing so many people had them nuked. i was surprised they still worked then.

But dangling tier levels with incentives for hitting those levels and then not paying out when those levels are hit is pretty grimy and seems like bad business to me in the long run.

There are definitely good customers out there who chase these levels to hit certain benefits but they're going to leery

Welcome to Caesars Rewards. The least worst crappy rewards system on the strip. Your earnings are always suspect and can be lost in an instant.

I think any serious poker player is better going with Bellagio/Aria or even the Wynn. Thise are a million times better. Unfortunately us non-serious players have to fight for whatever scraps we can get.

by pig4bill k

Okay, yes there are other casinos. Are any of their loyalty clubs better than CET?

It depends upon what rewards you value. I can get relatively better room rates (relative being the key word) at the Wynn that from Caesars from just playing poker. Yes, more expensive, but ridiculously better rooms.

To me, the primary value of Caesars Rewards Diamond is two things. One, free valet, two, no resort fees. Those are both borderline. The only reason I regularly get Diamond with them is that I play enough poker with them to get close so it is worth crossing the finish line.

Identity. Too bad they are going away at the end of the month. MGM sucks, IMO.

I told the Identity rewards desk reps that "they are going to regret it!" It might be better for the employees, but the Cosmo customer regs are getting "F"ed up the same way Borgata regs did when MGM took over there.

It's been years since I did any non-poker gaming at an MGM property. My wife prefers Cosmo, though, so I expect that to change this year...RIP Identity.

If she is going to play slots, you might not have to worry. MGM already half wreck what I considered the best casino slot floor on the strip as far variety and older styles ones go. I stop by there last month and already saw the MGM copy & paste the same slot setups with all the older ones mostly gone. I'm betting you won't be able to tell the difference between Cosmo, MGM Grand or Aria etc by Thanksgiving.

would you trust them with a manual?

Many of us have wished for that for years. The bad part would be that a new buyer would raise the rake. I'd like a lower tier hotel with tons of convention space be the buyer. Like Westgate maybe.

Okay, I'll bite. How are they better?

It seems with MGM you need very high card status to get no resort fees.

Wynn? Is there even a schedule for benefits?

That's something I don't care about. Horseshoe rooms are fine for me.

Those are hardly borderline for me. I don't valet but I park. 15 bucks a day, resort fees 45 bucks a day. 60 bucks every day that I'm there is a big benefit in my book.

Yeah, I love Identity, and and am really disappointed it's going away.

I'm Platinum status with Identity (which is their highest advertised tier), and got my status the old-fashioned way of just playing a lot of video poker (without multipliers or anything like that) along with some resort spend.

CR and Identity share two important attributes that differentiate themselves from almost every other big reward program.
- First, they have a lot more valuable automatic tier benefits that don't depend on ADT. For CR, this includes the 5k TC free rooms and D+ free drinks. For Identity, this included 2 automatic room comps plus 2 companion room comps and the discounted buffets.
- Second, they awarded tier credits for machine play based on coin-in rather than expected loss.

Both of these will be going away when Identity switches to MGM. It also sounds like many of the automatic tier benefits of CR are going away, with people losing their free drinks and auto room comps if they don't maintain a certain play level.

The Cosmo room comp also had the big advantage of rooms with balconies, which I love. Of course, Cosmo doesn't have a poker room, but this was fine with me, since they are next door to Bellagio and Aria and right across the strip from Paris for the WSOP.

These aren't automatic anymore.
I'm diamond plus and don't have either one.

I mentioned that in the next paragraph of my post.

Are you able to mix regular comp days with the free night stays you get when you earn tier credits? Looking at the days and I can get Horseshoe comped 7 days in september and I have another 5 nights with a voucher. Could I put them together for a 12 days stay for free?

These rumors have existed for years. With CET struggling like it is financially, it’s no surprise that they are looking to sell a number of assets.

It’s hard to say whether this would be good news or bad news for the WSOP. As much as I bash CET for the way it handles its loyalty program and some other things, the WSOP is run really well. They have tons of built-in space which another owner may not have access to, at least not as cheaply as CET has.

If sold, we could see a significant diminishment in the scope of the WSOP after decades of basically unending growth. It could very well be one of those “be careful what you wish for” situations.

Anyhow, given how big of a boost the WSOP is for Paris/HS, I would be kind of surprised if it is sold without some understanding that the summer series would continue to be held there under some favorable convention space lease terms for the new owners.

I believe you can generally combine the free tier credit nights with offer nights. However, I also believe there’s always a limit of 7 consecutive free nights from any source. So you could add at most another 2 nights onto to the 5 from the offer.

by noxor k

I don't understand the question. Manual?

I wouldn't trust CR with anything. The only question with them is whether they are more dastardly or incompetent?

Any benefit I ever actual get from CR I consider a blessing because I never know if it will happen again.

by pig4bill k

Consistency.

I don't disagree. After all I have been getting Diamond status for at least a decade (or whenever it was made a formal status). So I don't blame you and I agree with you. It is just that it is becoming harder and harder to justify. If they take away free valet or resort fees, there is no reason to try to maintain it.

by NickMPK k

No you can’t

I called and had them do a booking and they sort of combined them but not sure the math worked out exactly.

It would be clutch if you could manipulate the stick without blowing the tranny.

by wsopfinaltable k

No you can’t

you can but they have to book it as separate reservations then the front desk can link it when you check in.
