OK Vlogger Thread, we are going with some new parameters to try to make this the POSITIVE vlogger thread that it is supposed to be, not the AIDS vlogger thread where a few loonies ruin it for the rest. Note that 'positive' does not equal 'only positive', it means anything negative being said CAN'T be namecalling or wild, unsubstantiated speculation regarding any and all vloggers. feels like we are recycling the same lines about Diesel constantly.

I think we are all in agreement. is the constant repetition necessary

That reminds me. We need a current inventory of the fruit he owns..

Here is what nobody has written about, and will make people have to eat a disgusting rice cooker humble pie.

ELD made roughly $400 USD from Youtube in 1 month with 2,000 Youtube subscribers.

So $200 USD per 1,000 Subscribers

He is currently growing at 30-40 Subscribers Per Day.

1 year out should have him at about 15,000-20,000 subscribers.

With his current trajectory he will be banking $3,000-4,000 per month in Youtube income April 2025.

It was never about the poker...haters.

It's about three things...
(holds up fingers holding back ring finger)

  • 1. Poker Lifestyle
  • 2. Nomadism
  • 3. Ecology

Realize he will be the top no.2 poker vlogger and stop being miserable.

1 year out, Rice should have himself about 15,000-20,000 subscribers.

I find it shocking Rice has 3000 subscribers now.

Maybe he can go over what the different chip denominations are and what a chip rack looks like and how to place your chips into the rack.

by Langdon k

you stopped watching DePaulo and Boski and instead watch Rice everyday

because a man with an ugly beard standing in a parking garage telling you about comps and promos is more interesting than a vlog with good editing, photography and production about actual poker? c'mon man

Diesel has a lot of boring and annoying vlogs but then he will just go off with a wacky challenge, cook something horrific or have the stupidest hot take in the world that will have you dying of laughter. Diesel is much more interesting than some cookie cutter vlog where all the hands are TPGK, overpairs, flopped sets, and boring commentary.

In the words of the legendary Poet, Gambler Big L: Surprise promo grinders like a blind date, El D grinds great. He’ll raise the rake rate by not straddling for ole times sake.

Subscribers and Youtube ad revenue are not directly correlated.

YouTube revenue is a 55% (creator)/45% (youtube) split of the ad revenue generated from the views & clicks of the ads. I've been running Youtube ads for small companies up to large movie production studios and worldwide brands for 7+ years.

If we, the advertiser pays $0.02 per ad view, and $1.50 per click on the ad's call to action button. The creator/channel gets 55% of that $0.76, and Youtube/Google keeps $0.68.

With rising click costs over the years, creators are making more than they ever have before. Rice does have a good strategy in spamming daily low content videos to increase his chances at more ad revenue so he does have that working for him. But the calculation of his earnings is not solely based on subscribers.

Yes, you can simplify the number to earnings per subscriber or RPM (Revenue Per Mille/1,000 views), but that number is always going to fluctuate, but the line of subscriber growth & revenue generated are not always a parallel climb.

Ofc of course diesel never buys the button but is mad that new players in EP wait for the button to pass. Diesel can’t comprehend that he is exactly the same as those miserable nits. Never ceases to amaze me that Diesel has the most Scrooge mentality but the income of Bob Cratchit.

I always buy the button but if someone wants to wait one hand whatever. However it's infuriating that people in EP are allowed to wait for the blinds and button to pass to nit their way in for free. Free hands should be a courtesy not something you can angle to maximize. It does let me know not to pay a random off when they wait 4-5 hands to come in for free so I guess it's good for that.

You should always buy the button. You're not dealt in if bad beat jackpot hits, and if you wouldn't pay 1 big for last position in 1/2-1/3, then I don't know what to say.

When you're living a boring life in bumsville Ohio or wherever and have a poker IQ of minus five you need someone to look up to.

Exactly. Also, view/click prices for advertisers can be all over the map, depending on the maximum cost per click/view an advertiser is willing to pay. So your range of ad revenue earnings can be extremely wide. Like $0.03 - $5.00+, with the realistic mean being somewhere around $0.60-0.85.

I've had clients who didn't want to pay more than $0.04/view & $1.50/click because it wouldn't back out for their budget, all the way to movie studios and big brands that give YouTube an unlimited ad budget to show their ads as much as possible.

Yes, you should always buy the button for jackpot benefits and image, this is Tommy Angelo 101. I still remember when you had to post to come in as a new player everywhere in 2/5 and below.

Diesel is so clueless he doesn’t realize why people get offended because the question is are you a cheapskate or did you come here to play when the dealer asks if you want to buy the button.

I have no idea what depaulo is up to, his videos went to **** after he binked his score

Have you tried watching boski on twitch? Like watching paint dry live

I've been consuming media for 40 years, slick presentation is meaningless.

As koskha said, it's the train wreck value.

Funny thing is if you watch old in living colors, the hairline Keenan ivory wayans had would not be allowed on modern TV (speaking of bad hair)

I mean I think if you're playing poker as a money maker you should buy it bc it's +ev. If you're not winning more than what the button costs to buy it long term you aren't winning or your win rate is laughably small.

Image wise it's absurd to sit there for multiple hands to come behind the button. A guy getting settled in and waiting a hand as he gets his chips out of the rack etc isn't a big deal imagine although I'm still buying it.

Id be surprised if Diesel hasn't waited 5 hands multiple times to come in for free behind the button.he has zero self awareness and he thinks showing a 20 dollar bluff early on and folding for 3 hours sets him up to get paid off later.

Tommy Angelo absolutely gets what poker is about. He's actually a pretty big nit was but still enjoyable to play with in the few times I played with him. His book/interviews are also really good.

With all what we know about our hero I'd bet that Rice always waits for the button to pass. And it would be just like him to get annoyed when people do the exact same thing as himself. He wants to be the only nit at the table sucking up all the promo money that everyone else contributes. Anyone else doing likewise would be a source of constant annoyance to him as it lowers his earn.

From the tables of session results that he occasionally shows when he does various challenges it is often evident that he will occasionally sit at a table for a very brief time and then leave without playing or winning a single hand and yet still not lose any money. These must be times when he waits for the button to pass to play and then leaves the table just as it's his time to post the BB.

Someone actually suggested in the comments that he should do this for a full week as a "challenge" but Rice has probably been doing it for years already. It's his #1 poker hack to earn free comps/promos. Like he said at the end of his video; you laugh because it's funny, but you want to cry because it's true.

I'm heading to Vegas this week, maybe I'll get to observe him in his natural state: at the Horseshoe ...err, Bally's poker room.

Don't worry, kiddies.

With the inflation of already outrageous prices for food you can buy with comps, the natural progression of higher rakes, and the smallest games going from $1/2->$1/3->$2/3->$2/5, our boy will shortly be selling taffy next to T.

well yeah I would never want to watch streaming online poker, that's awful. but his live vlogs are great

What is all this buy the button talk? Everybody knows you want to come in UTG and Straddle!

by SammyBlackstar k

I will take under 20K for infinite dollars please and thank you.

Straddle? Thats the same as Rice hearing active shooter in the room. Run for your life. $5 to to see a flop that sb only $3. Thats insanity! “I have rotten bananas and sardines to buy”.

I don’t think image matters that much at 1-2 and 1-3. If the average low stakes reg raises after the flop in Vegas, he probably has a monster. It’s not just El Diesel. It’s easier to notice his nitty play, but I doubt his opponents play much differently against him.

Boski’s best vlog was the odorgate one at the WSOP where he told a stinky player to go shower.

by Nbuc84 k

Boski’s best vlog was the odorgate one at the WSOP where he told a stinky player to go shower.

And his best interview is when he called Trooper a "horrible person"

Actually that could be the best ever poker interview of any poker player.

idk if it's still the case, but a few years back the most profitable youtube wasn't even in the top 1k in weekly views

it was a little kid opening, playing with, & reviewing new toys

as such, most people watching his videos were all very specifically looking to buy toys, and not just that, but we knew roughly which toy category as well

so his stuff was all swamped by children's toy ads which had tremendous conversion rates so the channel raked it in

same concept of why there's a dozen different magazines all about yachting/high end travel/other expensive hobbies despite very limited audiences because they can charge an insane amount to advertisers because you can target high net worth people with a known set of spending preferences

I could see rice's average audience not being sophisticated enough to run an ad blocker

also hard lol on a linear growth of his channel, his max audience is severely capped and this thread's obsession with him alone probably accounts for 20% of his total traffic and that's unlikely to scale
