OK Vlogger Thread, we are going with some new parameters to try to make this the POSITIVE vlogger thread that it is supposed to be, not the AIDS vlogger thread where a few loonies ruin it for the rest. Note that 'positive' does not equal 'only positive', it means anything negative being said CAN'T be namecalling or wild, unsubstantiated speculation regarding any and all vloggers. Personal lives and anything aside from poker is OFF THE TABLE.

A new update March 2019:
NO ****ING POLITICS!
Lmao, Diesel is breathing heavy like a 95 year old that have been smoking their whole life going up that hill in his latest video.
Yeah, get those cigarfilled lungs working.
Pokerplayer exploring San Fran=walking around in the rain like a homeless bum with no plans, no money and nowhere to stay. Great stuff.
He really is an unbelievable guy....imagine walking around like a bum with nothing to do and nowhere to go because you are so poor you can't even afford accommodation while thinking you can lord it over everyone else with superior understanding of how everything in 'the system' works......seriously could be time for an intervention is his friends and family watch his videos

Yeah, and like it have been discussed/mentioned in this thread before Diesel really is quite the scary example of how quickly things can go sideways mentally and in life if you detach yourself completely from society on all parameters.
If you look at just the past 2 years of developement alone, he is rapidly going from bad to worse regarding mental health and function levels in life.
Yeah, if you retire early, you can convert regular IRA funds to a Roth IRA, you just have to pay income tax on the conversion. But if you only convert enough to remain in the 0% tax bracket, it's essentially avoiding income tax on that conversion. Then just live off your assets in your taxable accounts.
This. A home that is purchased and increases in value can be a good source of tax free money to live off when you sell it, because of the $250k-$500k capital gains exclusion on the sale of your primary home. But only suckers take advantage of those incentives - they have to go "home" to the same place every night!
I remember one video of a travel blogger who would buy a refundable business class ticket departing in the evening then go to the lounge in the early morning and then cancel the ticket before the flight.
This guy made the wacky news for doing that for a year: https://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/ma...
With Myrna being a full time grinder for years, I would value his opinion on game quality over non-pro, non-Vegas people. Our experiences are like the blind guys describing the elephant, while he is the zookeeper with archives on elephant anatomy going back years.
Personally, I've found the low limit games soft all the time on my three trips over the last two years, mostly playing at Aria and Horseshoe.
Lol

What happpened at the audition?
"It was yesterday. Yeah, I did all that. The Orleans TD said she didn't want people putting auditioning dealers to the test. I bet an amount in PLO, and let the TD raise "pot" if she wanted to test the dealer. As the auditioning dealer, I didn't split the hi/lo pots as the hand went on. I don't think it was a huge deal. It sounded like things were very good. The supervisor should email us very soon about it" - Diesel in a reply to his Shorts video
Sounds like it went well. I can't imagine him not getting the job unless hygiene and his beard was an issue. Hopefully he reigned in his smugness and he should be good to go.
Another example of the alternative universe Rice lives in. From one of his YouTube comments:

I don't think they can relate to me. These people you're describing sound rich. Families, a house, paying for everything, paying for everyone, and in addition to all the bills, extra cash to put into an IRA. It sounds like there's cash all over the place
So if you own a home, have some kids, aren't a dead beat on your bills and save a little money for retirement, in other words, a normal middle class existence, in Rice's world that is almost unfathomable incredibly rich.
I'm loving that people have caught on to what a treasure trove Rice's comments section is. I just hope he gets the dealing job at Orleans, it's going to provide so many lols over the summer.
Can just imagine him getting into debates with players and supervisors when he feels like he is right and everyone else is wrong... which is bound to happen every day.

as someone who plays a lot of hi lo at the Orleans ,he thinking he doesn't need to split the pots will give some of the patrons an aneurysm .

Remember it's being told from his perspective, and he's kind of smug-blind.
holy **** he got approved. l have been wanting to be a dealer for a couple years now , its gonna be a great summer trolling him occasionally. I don't think he will stay at orleans. comes out to like 2k a month to stay ,I guess he can chop with someone .
also I wonder how residency laws work at hotels. mgm wont do more than 14 days consecutively . orleans maybe has them going to gold coast in between ?

Not a surprise he got a job offer. From his Shorts video, he's got decent dealing mechanics. He knows how the game is suppose to run. Will be a little different in the box but nothing he can't learn quickly.
Honestly, I hope he makes a ton of money and decides to deal full time or at least part time. He's gonna at least 3x his poker hourly and if he goes on call which is the likely starting point of a dealing job anywhere, he'll have the flexibility to pick and choose when he'll want to deal if he wants. I think with some experience, he could be a great dealer.
The key will be if he can keep his mouth shut in the box and just put his head down and deal.
Myrna, if you really wanna troll him, sit in the middle and move the button after every hand. 😉
Congrats to Rice on the gig.

Agree with this. He actually scrubbed up quite well apart from the out of control beard! If he can keep his composure and handle difficult costumers well (big if) then he could be pretty decent. It will be interesting to see how he reacts to the situation of consistently getting a much higher hourly and with zero variance.
I read somewhere 30 days is the max before the hotel kicks you out. Some less
It's shaping up to be the summer of El D - THE DEALER

For sure. I've never dealt but it seems repetitive and monotonous so perfect for someone like Diesel. He hates variance and will be making way more than poker hourly. He's said if he could make like $50/hr at poker, he would play 16 hours a day everyday and retire in 1.5 years.
Well now he'll have an opportunity to make $30+ an hour at no variance so it'll be interesting to see how he can justify not trying to get a full time/part time/on call dealer job after the series. If he just deals the cards and runs the game and doesn't try to be "social Diesel" and is relatively fast and accurate, no one will bother him, not the players or his supervisors. And the better and faster he gets, he'll make more money as well.
He plays less than 10% of hands and needs fun social tables to not get bored. Well he won't be bored dealing cause now he's technically playing every hand as he has to pay attention to the action and keep the game moving.
Dealing poker is honestly the nut job for Diesel. Hope he realizes it.
This Diesel dealing experiment got me thinking. Now that Trooper has finally given up on playing poker full time to focus on making candy, he's another one that would benefit greatly with dealing during the series.
He already has experience and from anyone that has played with him in the box, he's an above average dealer and is sociable. A recent commenter on his candy vlog lamented the fact there's no more Vegas poker vlog and the accompanying views of the Strip which the non locals loved.
Although most people like Trooper don't really like working for the man per se, dealing is almost like a gig job. With all the flexibility you have work schedule wise as a dealer and the income you can earn, it's really the nut job for failed poker "pros".
Trooper should also deal the series and scale back the farmer's markets as it will be 100 degrees plus outside. After the series, he'll have a decent amount and can reinvest that into his candy business and get ready for fall when it's cooler outside.
