Anybody want to teach me how to beat blackjack im all ears and will buy you dinner somewhere. Just message me when youre in town or something, would love to add that to the arsenal even if i dont ever actually do it, i just want to be able to do it

In ship it holla ballas andrew robl talks about moving to vegas and learning to count cards as a thing to do and got backed off everywhere i guess after winning 50k, always tried to take what i can from him, he seems very sharp to me in gambling

Once you learn how all the hard work will be for nothing because the casino will back you off. It starts with learning memorizing basic strategy which is a chart telling each move. Then you keep a running count some cards are +1 and other cards are -1 one and then at certain high count number you change strategy. The casino will see your fluctuating bet sizes based on the count and back you off. You might as well just load up on free condiments and get your resort fees waived for less effort.

by IQofTwoPlusTwo k

No, he was specifically literally talking about resort fees. Or in other words, he didn't know what in the hell he was talking about.

Yup, he just likes to waffle on about everything like as if he is some expert. In this instance he was incorrectly talking about resort fees as if they were some kind of state levied taxes on visitors.

by IQofTwoPlusTwo k

No, he was specifically literally talking about resort fees. Or in other words, he didn't know what in the hell he was talking about.

I meant he was mixing up resort fees and the hotel tax. Although after finally watching the video, he got his knowledge of resort fees from what Montana does. Lol.

Should ask Diesel in the comments how much of that "resort fee" went to building Allegiant Stadium and where that $380 million was gonna come from to help build the A's stadium. But it's pointless cause Diesel will spin it to where he's right somehow or will ad hominem attack me and declare himself the winner like he always does.

I mean a simple Google would tell him what is resort fees and what is hotel tax in Nevada. But hey he stayed on the Strip for months while reading what all these fees were on his bill. He's an expert.

As my friend said, you can't use tier status to waive a tax.

Meanwhile he's literally talking out his ass here. If what he says was true then BJ would have a massive edge for the player over the house in his father's day, but of course it's just pure fiction from Rice.

a monkey can be trained to count cards. the hard part is 1)getting away with it 2) dealing with the swings.

the variance is huge all for a 1-2 percent edge.

As far as casinos AP plays it's probably one of the lowest edge advantages you can get with the highest amount of scrutiny.
I know there is better stuff out there but naturally people are tight lipped about it so it's hard to find.

Part of the reason I got back into it at all was just to spite the casinos. And partly it was something productive to do especially on Vegas trips.
When I first got into it I was 21 or 22 without much money. This was around when poker boomed and counting fell by the wayside bc poker was much more profitable with lower variance and you didn't have to deal with backoffs. But it was always something that gnawed at me in the back of my mind.

As poker games got worse in Vegas when I went there there would be more dead times for poker. So when the games sucked at dead times I'd go play blackjack for a few hours. I was also honestly curious if I could do it.

It was never more than a profitable hobby. I probably played about 700-800 hours over a 3 year period (total, not just in Vegas) and have only mildly dabbled in it since covid. Almost all of the post covid play was at a couple of Vegas casinos who gave me really nasty backoffs including one that trespassed me. Most backoffs are polite and I get they have a job to do. The one that trespassed me told me they weren't going to cash me out if I didn't show ID. I refused and they said they were gonna call the cops. I thanked them and told me they were saving me the trouble off calling them myself. After a 15 or 20 minute standoff they finally paid me (it was only like 1200 dollars) and had some goon walk me out to the parking lot. Once I got my money I asked the casino manager who was being a hard ass when the cops were coming or if they crashed their car from laughing so hard when they got the call (which was obviously never made.) The next day I got threatened with a trespass at a completely unrelated property. I had never even been backed off there despite playing their 20 times and winning probably 17 or 18 of them which is pretty absurd. There is no way it was a coincidence. I went back to these places when masks were required everywhere in Nevada out of pure spite.

Vegas games have deteriorated a lot over the years but now they're really awful overall. The one plus is a lot of volume. Vegas surveillance is overly paranoid and they'll kick out 10 or 20 losing counters for each winning one. I loved double deck games. Your hourly is way higher and with lower swings. Plus it's way more fun than 6 or 8 deck.
In Vegas I played probably 99 percent double deck. I could always play 6/8 deck anywhere else.
Vegas double deck is also watched a lot closer than 6 deck games so for that reason some counters won't even play the DD in Vegas.

If it was my bread and butter and I lived there I would have approached it differently. But as someone who was gonna play maybe 50-100 hours a year in Vegas I wasn't too concerned with backoffs.

I would also notice on Vegas trips I'd generally get kicked out faster at the end of trips than the beginning. Made sense as surveillance circulates pictures of people counting to sister properties and other casinos. My last night or two on a trip I'd just throw it in their face where early on trips I'd be less greedy since I'd want to go back to the same places that trip.

When I'd go back 3-6 months later I'd go back to not getting backed off that much at first.

I've thought about taking a trip at some point in my life across the country and just hammering casinos all over. Sometimes it sounds appealing sometimes it sounds like a huge hassle knowing you're gonna get harassed, barred, deal with shady mid western cops and in some places burn yourself out in an area really quick.

If you have other stuff in your arsenal I'm sure from a purely monetary stand point it's more profitable with less variance. It would really have to be something you pursue for more than just monetary reasons. Maybe as a challenge, maybe as a casino **** you. You really have to be in the mood to deal with the nonsense that comes with it. Frankly it was kinda fun for a while a few years ago, but save for the spite play with masks I mentioned I really haven't been in the mood for it the last couple of years.

Robl probably went out to vegas for the first time in the late 2000s. Blackjack games were so much better than than they are now. Surveillance was also a lot worse.

lmao it definitely never paid 2:1 except for some random promotion that might have lasted a few hours. It's possible his dad played a few times a long time ago and just is wrong about what it paid back game.

They did deal games that had a small edge off the top for the players though back when nobody knew basic strategy. When Atlantic City first opened games also had an edge for the player playing basic strategy, mostly because of early surrender. The edge was small and they never paid 2:1 on BJs.

Do you think Zack has ever gotten a bj? I would bet 2-1 he has not

Yup Ive heard of promotions where a suited BJ paid 2:1 and even that swings the odds in the favour of the player considering a modest house edge like 0.4% in a 6 deck game

2:1 on all BJs would have to be so incredibly rare. I have heard of it being offered as a very short promotion once or twice at some small backwoods casino but the promo gets pulled quick smart due to the games getting killed by APs converging on it like vultures.

yep a lot of good promos get pulled very fast.

I read about a triple down promotion at Mohegan Sun that took place about ten years ago. You could triple down on your first 2 cards, 500 max bet, 3 spots max.
Basically everyone thought it might last an hour or two at best but it actually lasted the entire time it was supposed to last for (somewhere b/w 12 and 24 hours).
People even got tons of comps for their play. Wish I knew about it when it happened.

Two to one odds for San Fransisco pocket bread challenge trips.

I want to learn for straight love of the game. Just a thing to know how to do.

I know roughly what it is like 2-7 are -1 and 7-10 are +1 and at a certain threshold it becomes in players favor. Or something like that idk exactly what it is. Also don’t know basic blackjack strat other than assume card under dealers card is a 10 which may or may not be right

you can easily teach yourself. It's mainly a matter of practicing in order to be able to do it all seamlessly and integrate the counting into your game without it slowing you down or being obvious. First step would be to learn Basic Strategy until you know it like the back of your hand.

Yeah but don't underestimate what can be done with just a 1-2% edge. While the edge is low with just card counting, there is the potential to get in huge volume. That's not the case for most of the other advantage plays which have larger edges.

I know APs who specialize in slots and they all fill in time with card counting between plays. The beauty of card counting is that beatable BJ games are pretty much always there and available on tap if you are in the right cities.

I would be so convinced Diesel's vlogs are a troll if I never played with him before.

Today's vlog is three underrated table lineups. If you guessed all three lineups were either tight or had lots of small pots, you would be correct. Then Diesel justifies why each lineup is so good. Definitely no correlation to Diesel's win rate plummeting the past few years. Lol.

First one, he suggests finding two real tight players sitting next to each other and grabbing a seat to their right cause you'll "get the button" three hands a round. A player of Diesel's quality and his 10% vpip will take advantage of this situation well.

Second, only one maniac vs many maniacs cause many maniacs makes the game too volatile. He also says they will bust each other and Diesel won't get an opportunity to stack them. Also says you can't bluff when there's 3-4 maniacs in the game. Groundbreaking read there.

Third is loose passive players that call any bets. Those players will keep the pots small so even if they get monsters, they won't be able to bust each other cause of the small pot size. This allows Diesel to crush them cause he's not afraid to put chips in the pot when he gets a 10% vpip hand and he'll stack them.

And now we know why his win rate is atrocious. Not only is he a super nit, he chooses the worst games possible.

It's funny how he assumes players only have one bullet and when they go broke, they never rebuy. Or if they do quit, that the player that replaces them could be even better for the game.

That podcast Rigged Game that someone here mentioned is easily the best vlog running right now and has so much great strat in it. MW gives a ton of info on the soft skills of card counting and slots. It is amazing what he can get away with and how staff help him out while he is counting. He is also a lot like diesel, (cheap, hates his job in IT, 90% of his diet is casino chicken tenders) but if Diesel smartened up and got married.

by Koshka k

And now we know why his win rate is atrocious. Not only is he a super nit, he chooses the worst games possible.

Today's 12:45 minute vlog from Rice, besides how to select a low volatility table ideal for a nit, contains at least 6:00 minutes of ranting about the poor quality of a gas station milkshake interwoven with complaints about the high cost of gas station sandwiches.

In today's video Rice talks about the difference between Sheetz and Wawa. This is literally a family dividing issue in parts of Pennsylvania and really needed 12 minutes of discussion. Imagine paying more for a sandwich with cheese. In his view then every fast food restaurant in the US is robbing patrons by charging more for a cheeseburger than a hamburger.

He really should do PR for Wawa at this point. I mean he called Wawa a restaurant at one point in the video. That's a bold faced lie. Restaurants have seating for customers. I've never been in a Wawa that does.

Also why is this diehard Mets fan wearing what looks to be a Red Sox hat??

It was definitely a free hat or at least found somewhere. Same as the free A's hat he got at the A's game. Free hat is more important than what team you're a fan of.

At what level were you betting when backed off, borg? I count at the same Midwestern casino 2 or 3 times a week spreading 25-250 while being rated and no one ever says a thing. Maybe they're in awe of my audacity.

Wawa has plenty of seating, it's in your car out in the parking lot.

On a scale of 1-10 Wawa parking lots are a solid 8 on the danger scale

50-400 on dd when I got trespassed.
similar spreads at other places on DD.

different places have different tolerance levels even among related properties. Like I've lasted way long at Red Rock than some other stations properties bc at Red Rock more people are betting higher amounts of money.

I've only played in the Midwest a few times and I'm not even sure pit bosses know how many cards are in a deck out there. Totally different than vegas.

Irony of troopers sprkli channel is the fact that what they are trying to do is interesting. Who wouldn't like to watch 2 people trying to make a business work from nothing against all odds? But his channel will never grow with such stupid video names and terrible thumbnails. Its painful to see someone so long in the youtube game know absolutely nothing about youtube

For funsies I looked at Trooper's videos from oldest to new. I learned:

- he's been doing this for ten years
- he's had the same stupid vague 3-4 word titles since the beginning
- same stupid thumbs with his face comprising 25% off the frame
- he's been mooching off of his lady for six years
- of all of sprkili sweet thunbnails, NONE feature candy. Well, maybe one, but it looks like crap.

As lady trooper is looking more matronly as of late, he really missed out on showcasing ms trooper's assets in thumbnails.

Rice with his talking about equity all of a sudden, really made me dislike him more.
