I’ll bite either way and argue Rice clearly isn’t making enough… “Vegaspokernomad” got a temp dealing job and then quit Vegas because he wasn’t making enough playing poker. It was obvious at least two years ago that he wasn’t going to make it as a poker player. He was barely squeaking by and didn’t understand increasing rake and his opponents’ skill level would cut his hourly as inflation chipped away at the purchasing power of that already small earnings. Instead of getting better and moving up in stakes he just pulled from the “play more hours” and “cut expenses” wells until those ran dry.

Maybe the issue is you are a piss poor writer and communicator?

The current theory on ELD is not that he is playing poker to earn money. He has the part time dealer job to earn money. Rather, ELD is playing poker to earn tier in order to get resort fees waived and buffet meats and also to provide parking garage content to post on youtube which combined earnings of dealing and youtube must be less than $37,000 per year in order to get the NY health insurance. Thus, ELD cannot raise his stakes or get better since he will loose health insurance and then has to factor in the costs of buying his own health insurance which for a cigar smoker with heavy wheezing is going to be alot of money per month.

According to a NY website it is about $1000 in permium per month per individual health insurance plan:

Thus, ELD can either earn $37,000 per year or jump up to $49,000 per year in order to get no incremental value since then he would need to pay his own health insurance. There is a dead zone of earnings from $37,001 to $48,999 which ELD would be in before he realized any financial benefit for incremental hours worked as a temporary dealer.

ELD has optimized his finances by living on rice and pocket bread and slurry and staying in resort waived rooms. Now that ELD has solved the Diamond plus drink crisis by sourcing the 1/2 gallon milk at Target for $2 he is nutritionally covered for calcium intake.

Dude. You and ELD are the same person, except ELD didn't lend 80K to a prostitute that never paid it back (supposedly). Instead, ELD invested in dividend stocks.

So much misinformation in your post. The $80K went to a dealer not a prostitute.

I don't nomad around taking jobs. I worked for one company for a little less than two years. Until they had to close the location I was at. I was offered a chance to go back to the first location. I didn't. I worked one job for about a year after that in a different city. Then they hired some new dealers. I was let go. I moved to a new job over the summer and have been there since.

I have had regular residences most of the past four years. I am occasionally in an Airbnb when I change cities until I find a place.

Every job since Covid has been in Texas.

Ironically I am moving out of where I am next week to become a bit of a nomad/poker player. And I will be staying in AirBNBs.

Gonna hit a few spots in Texas to play and see friends until I get on a train and head home to see my family.

As for Rice, I have defended his lifestyle over the past couple days. Like myself how Rice chooses to live and how much money that requires is up to him. If he makes $500 a week and he can survive, good for him.

I'm only gonna do it for a month or so.

Maybe longer if it goes really well and I enjoy it again.

I own every mistake I have ever made in my life. And I have made my share.

But life is the choices we make. And I literally don't give a **** what you think of my mistakes. I'm 62. I gave up worrying about what people think of me 10 years ago.

We all know that 80k figure is the same as bikeking claiming to have lost all his money to a bank account hack.

Bobw is a guy that criticizes Diesel incessesantly but also was begging Diesel for money because he was broke.

Bobw is essentially a 60 year old fat version of Diesel/Bikeking/Pman if everything went wrong and they had no parental support.

He definitely has no right to criticize anything these vloggers have done because he's by far the worst out of all of them.

Have to agree. The numbers don't make any sense... he's getting $300 stakes to grind 1/2 but somehow we are to believe he is owed 80k by this mystery female dealer friend. I'll lay 5:1 he never even had 10k let alone 80k

Also to bobw525: She didn't stand you up to gamble table games on Feb 14th. She stood you up cos she was hanging with a younger guy or maybe just a wealthier sucker.

It wasn't in one limp sum. It was over five years. Including when I took my buyout from my company. Basically every time I won at poker she took at least half to gamble table games.

Again I never said this was the best decision of my life. I own my mistake. One of the reasons I moved to Vegas was because I realized I was never collecting and I wanted to eliminate the negative energy she brought into my life.

No one is challenging his right to live like a hobo.

Except you wrote in your own thread that you left your job and got a buyout in april of 2014 and announced in march of 2015 that you were busto and u were owed 80k.

Even if it was over 5 years that means you gave her average 16k a year, and half that means you made 32k a year profit from poker. I doubt you ever made 32k a year in poker in your life, i don't even believe you've even played 1,500 hours in a year. To say you've done that for 5 years is such a stretch.

I 100% believe you did give her money, but you probably added an extra 0 to make your self look better.

We can all see your posts through out the years and can put 2 and 2 together. The chance of you ever having 80k to give out is pretty much 0.

This is such a derail and should probably have mod intervention.

There is no best or worst hourly rate over a sample size; the average rate is the average rate. What is your lifetime hourly rate at 1-2 and/or 1-3?

Does it matter if 100% of his income originates from playing poker? Anyone that doesn't receive a paycheck as a W-2 employee should diversify their income streams. Between playing, dealing, YT, and staying with family during the holiday season, he lives the way he wants with the income he earns. You're all so hung on the term "pro" and you set the bar for his income, when it should be him setting it himself. Why would he care what you think he should be making annually? You're not living his life, he is.
