"Widespread Panic"
"Gov't Mule/Primus/WSOP"

This time is no different. Heading to LV for a concert and some pokering. Show is Jerry Joseph with special guest/backing band Kareeta. Imma yuge JJ fan (to the point of obsession, perhaps). He wrote many of the epic Widespread Panic songs like Climb To Safety, North, Light is Like Water, Second Skin and their latest single We Walk Each Other Home, co-written with Panic lead singer JB. I'm looking forward to this new collaboration with an unknown to me backing band.

Plan is to drive over Sunday morning, hopefully missing any NASCAR traffic, staying two nights at the 'Shoe. Concert is at the Sand Dollar Lounge on Spring Mountain Sunday evening. Monday thru Tuesday is for the pokers and some degeneracy with my co-pilot for this trip "M" with whom I've been to LV many times, a self described Rush-head. A JJ virgin, if he actually goes to the show with me.

3 sleeps and ~350 miles til Vegas!

OP has links to previous TRs, which have links to even previous TRs.

all about getting that notification though via the old threads i'm subbed to

Breakfast at Blueberry Hill starts us off, then a $200 cocktail at the craps table ($5) at Ellis Island. M is doing better, still playing dice while I maintain even at $1.25 JoB.

Back at the 'Shoe after a -$220 Ellis Island excursion. Chillin in the room now, thinking I'll jump into the 2pm $100 donkament.

Don’t play cash games at the Horseshoe it’s the highest rake in town

9th place for +$55!

Starting stack, then closer to the end.

Final hand: 8k/16k I have 47k in the BB (15k after BB/BBA)) utg makes standard raise (2.5 or 3x) folds to me, I call blind and have a live K vs QJ. He binks one of his cards on the flop and I brick out.

3 hours, one bullet. 63 runners I think.

Back at it after pizza.

Ooh is that Grimaldi’s?

Second tourney ($160 8pm) didn't go as well. Got low, shoved with AQs, held vs AKo and JJ for a triple up plus. Then kept getting 2nd best hand doubling up shorties until my stack dwindled to nothing. Final hand I got it in good against A6 with 1010, but two sixes on the board finished me off.

Jumped into 1-3 for $200, got some good hands/spots, worked the stack up to ~$260, then got AK vs A10 on AKrag, J Q board. Left with crumbs, decided to pack it in for the night (11pmish)

$10 at VP bar gets me a cuppa Baily's n Coffee for the walk to PHo for Earls b'fast sammich. Gonna hit the Shoe's 9am $100 in a few minutes.

Giordano's outside the Shoe. Copilot M is a Windy City native, loves all things Chicago/Illinois (except the Cubs, of course). He thinks Salerno's and Lou Malnati'a are both better deepish pizzas (aka casseroles) but that didn't stop us from going [emoji41]

I can't tell the difference, myself.

At first break, just took a small hit AQ < A10, still sitting at 61k after color up.

Top 7 pay, 45 runners total. 4 tables.

AK losses to 45 (nutty flush draw vs flopped two pair) knocking me out in lvl 7.

Nothing left for me in Vegas this time around. Just waiting on the copilot, might hit brunch at Omelet House on the way out of town.

Thanks for sharing. I hope you had fun.

Thanks for following along. Sittin at the Shoe now mashing some VP. Two golf bros come up to the bar and order 2 Budweisers. The bartender asks but they aren't playing. $24/round.

Having a great time, but I miss my dogs (and my wife) [emoji4] Wish my results were better, especially at cash. Down a few hundred, but got lots of poker in and have been drinking and eating well.

Fantastic. I always miss our dogs when we travel, but luckily my husband also loves Vegas so we always go together 😉

Probably the saddest thing I've read itt. Glad you were only a spectator!

I'm sure they will all be glad to see you get home.

Thanks for the ride!

Thanks for posting about your trip!!

Thanks for letting us come along.

Enjoyed it.. GL in the future

Safely back at home now in Phoenix. Warmest weather of the trip was ~75 degrees driving into town. LV was a bit cooler, and the wind was blowing more, too. Trip home was uneventful, pulling into town around 6pm local. We didn't hit brunch in LV, just stopped for some In n Out to go in Kingman. Pretty damned good for what it was. Also, cheap. My single combo was ~$8. Easily the cheapest meal of the trip.

Down for all forms of gambol - craps, cash poker, tournaments and VP. Lot's of drinks had, some pretty decent meals (Flavortown, Giordano's, Blueberry Hill, Earl's, etc)

I might consider staying at Ellis Island for the WSOP this year, depending on what kind of rates I can get. Horseshoe is expensive.

Sorry you couldn’t bunk one of those tournaments, but appreciated the opportunity to ride along with you. Better luck on your next trip!

I may have angered the poker gods by not posting the traditional roll/shows pic. I took the picture, not sure how or why I skipped it in the moment. I'll try to do better next time.

Didn't count it down, but seems like 'bout tree-fiddy.
