Pickleball/Basketball in Vegas
So i have to lose 25lbs by June 1st (big enough bet to motivate me)
Love playing basketball, (used to play it every other day in my 20's) and just started playing pickleball last year and loved it.
Got injured for a bit but now im back..
48 , a little fat , but ok athletic .. my pickleball skill is around 2/10 and 7/10 for basketball for my age group.
have some friends (also in poker/gambling) but they take a lot of trips out of town , and timing has been off.
so looking for a network of vegas locals (around our age 30-50ish to go have some pickup games..
Im in the SW (rainbow/sunset) but can travel and usually free (with a notice)mon-thurs , im usually grinding fri-sunday.
so lmk who is interested , while we still have a month left of playable weather

i play basketball at tark next to palace station with a group of younger people mostly, they have an Instagram page
https://www.instagram.com/ombbasketballl...
They also organize runs for late at night, like 11pm-1am mostly at tark, but also on some saturdays at 330 at the one guys old apartment complex on desert inn where they have an indoor gym, its a little small compared to a normal court, but everyone is very friendly, some women play, even some high school kids i think from time to time, everybody is welcome to play. Dont be intimidated to check it out because some players are really good, some college players sometimes, but also players who arent as good, everyone is very welcoming, i think i stick out like a sore thumb when i play, they are mostly in their early 20s and from vegas or cali, im a fat 30 something from the middle of an ohio corn field, and i feel right at home when i go despite not being able to move so dont feel weird about playing if youre older
I also know of a group that i met because i was at tark that play, that is alot slower pace, mostly older people who i think work in restaurants who also play late at night, 1130-130 type of thing, i kindve ghosted that group because i cant play as much, but they were mostly all pretty nice and it was an ok run, not nearly as competitive as the omb run, but if youre a little older i can see it as a good option if youre up late.
I also know the guy who runs the tark gym, and can find out if they have a run that would be even more suited to you if youd like, whether it be earlier or with older people or what, the omb runs are what work perfect for me but i know they have all sorts of stuff there.
If interested you can DM me or just follow their page and show up, the main guy is named DJ, he will get you set up if you message him on there as well.
When i moved here, playing basketball was the key to happiness for me, gambling all the time is really draining and i knew nobody who was into basketball when i moved here and it was a big downer for me because i love playing basketball, so always willing to help anyone in a similar boat who doesnt really know what to do.

hey man thanks for the info. yeah bball was life for me in my 20's ,, i specifically got an apartment in nyc for like 7 years that was directly across from bball courts and that i could watch when a game was forming.
i would probably have to personally start with half court but can def get to full court once i get some reps in.
I have played there before.. played with jose montes , cord garcia and his crew once , and was going to play more but had a family emergency and had to leave vegas for ny in the middle of june.
but will join that group.
