Stardust Casino

This might not be the right place for this, apologies if so.

So I'm an out of towner who has visited a few times and I am talking with my other half about moving to Vegas in a few years. I've recently got interested in the history of the town. And the Stardust seems to be quite the story.

Does anyone have any stories they'd like to share about it? Or book recommendations?

Thanks guys, watching Casino again for the 30th time.

Check out this old thread. Sadly, most of the pics are 404'd now, but the stories are still great.

Thanks!

I played a bit there in the 80s with little clue about its shady, even dangerous, status. Apparently it was much worse in the 70's though. Apparently that is where the mob was shaking down everything including bigger poker players?? Can't remember how I did there.

In the 1970's I used to take regular trips from my home in Chicago to stay at the Stardust and play poker.

There was a very strong connection between Chicago, the Stardust and the "skim".

I seriously don't know what you mean by "much worse" or by "even dangerous"; it was great.

Went to Tony Roma's frequently, never once got "blowed up"

Spilotro was threatening and shaking down poker players, and that's dangerous.
