Playing Big Without a Box

I'm staying at an Airbnb off The Strip for a few months. I like to play big: multiple 2k buy-ins, big wins of 5-10k.

Safe deposit boxes are not available. Cashiers give me a really hard time when I try to deposit or withdraw from a players bank.

Armed robbery seems to be a big problem in Vegas. And I prefer not to come and go to the casino every day with a lot of cash/chips.

What can I do to stay safe?

Define cashiers give me a really hard time etc. Part of their job is to handle safekeeping.

I would ask either at the poker cage or main cage if a temp safe deposit box is available for the duration of your trip.

Otherwise, just carry the cash on you. Since it's likely you are playing at Bellagio/Aria/Wynn, 10k is chump change to carry around. Just pay attention to your surroundings.

If none of that sounds appealing enough to you, you can always lose.

I lived and played in Vegas for 4 years, but I've never heard of casinos in Vegas having player bank accounts, nor have I heard of armed robbery being a big problem there, but...

Make sure no one is following you out of the poker room, out the casino door, or following your car after leaving. Consider parking at a different casino than the one where you're playing. It's not easy to follow someone home on the strip.

For what it's worth, I would worry FAR more about leaving my money in the room of an Airbnb room than having it on my person anywhere in Vegas.

If you're renting an entire apartment that would be somewhat safer, but I still wouldn't be thrilled about it.

$2k buy in isn't big, and tripling your buy-in isn't really that big of a win. So many guys just walking around with overstuffed manilla envelopeor backpacks one month ago. Mainly be wary of random women who say hi to you.

As others have said, $5, 000 to $10, 000 isn't a big deal in Vegas, but I sure as heck wouldn't want to get robbed! Spread it out on your person if you can and pay attention to your surroundings. Find multiple hiding spots in the Airbnb and make sure they aren't filming you 😉
