Belgium pk on Monday at the Circa sportsbook there.

How many people are pissed about the ruling?

You sound like MEb!

Hold your horses till I complete my trip report!

Sorry for the spoiler [emoji15]

FIFA is the most corrupt sports organization there is. Trump probably called Infantino to get the red card suspended.

The IOC can probably give FIFA a run for its money (and then there is the whole boxing universe), but I also can't argue with your statement on FIFA's spot on the most corrupt sports organization list.

FIFA right now, then IOC when it's their time. Ofc, boxing is a whole nother animal.

Call was absurd to start with.

Studio soccer.

Mick Jagger & Paul McCartney would like to speak on behalf of a handful of deceased musicians.

And I’m sure everyone knows by now that Trump indeed made that call.

Golf gambooling itt.

This post actually inspired me to make my first ever "win tournament after first round completed" bet.

Nice. I rarely bet pre tournament, normally I wait until after 2nd or 3rd round but I just liked Wyndham after the 1st round that week.

THIS post inspired me to make another bet at 4:04am Sunday morning.

Outstanding. I liked Gotterup yesterday as well but didn’t pull the trigger.

Day 41
Sunday July 5th

Usual pool time in the morning, taking advantage of the fact that the deep end is open on the weekend.

Then headed over to Bellagio with the intention of playing a 5ish hour session before late reg’ing the ultra stack.

There wasn’t enough players to start a must move though and the players in the main game looked entrenched so had to change plans. ( Action is noticeably dropping off as we near the end of the series)

So plan B. Have something to eat and play the Ultra Stack earlier than we had originally planned.

Haven’t been to Caramella for a while and they’re open for brunch on Sundays.

$55 all you can eat which is probably a good deal for some people but not really for me as I can’t eat that much.

I was pleased to see my favorite pasta was on the brunch menu.

And I also tried the tiramisu French toast which was pretty good.

After brunch we joined the ultra stack in level 7 which was 500 - 1,000 - 1,000 with a 60k starting stack which still left plenty of room to play

The first bullet went south when we tried to get creative against the loosest player on the table who was over betting everything.
We check-raised shoved at him from the small blind on an all rags flop but ran into the top of his range and he obviously wasn’t going to fold Q-Q.

The 2nd bullet we got all-in pre flop with A-Ts vs Q-Js and obviously didn’t win it.

Back over to Bellagio where there was a must move game running now but it had a long list and they had no dealers to open another table so we watched the England game in the sportsbook.

Full of Mexicans all cheering loudly. Well I can cheer loudly for England as well. Come on England!

Fun was had and it was a great game. The officials tried to help Mexico with a questionable red card and a non existent penalty but it was all to no avail.

We had of course unleashed hell on the 3 Lions.

I played cash after and booked a -$1,100 loss when the game broke at 3am. Yes the game that has been running round the clock all summer finally broke! A sure sign that summer camp is nearly over.

Not the greatest day poker wise then but what a great game to win.

I thought the red card was pretty much correct tbh but the nearly seemed harsh to me

Well, you had it right. USA soccer can never resist the temptation to poop their pants on the big stage. Embarrassing game.

Day 42
Monday July 6th

Cash game day today and I wake up around 10:30am and after checking the WhatsApp chat it seems like they’re going to try and start the $80 Mix around 11am but the lineup does not wet the appetite. Quite the opposite in fact, so absolutely no need to rush in. We’ll have some leisurely pool time and maybe watch the Spain game.

Monday late morning and the pool is almost deserted. Earlier in my stay I didn’t like the Horseshoe pool area, but now I think it’s a hidden gem and it might be my favorite pool in Vegas. One of the waitresses is going round handing out free mojitos. It would be rude to refuse and it’s actually got a good amount of Bacardi in there. I approve.

I put a couple of small bets on Spain and the Under so when I’m done at the pool I watch the 2nd half of the game in the room. Spain win 1-0 with a late goal and we have a couple of winners. So many late goals at this World Cup.

Then over to Bellagio and I get a seat in the main game after a short wait. Doesn’t look like there will be a must move today. Further evidence of the action winding down.

The main game still isn’t great but we make the best of it. As the saying goes ‘ better to run good in a bad game than run bad in a good game

I semi-bluff raised Guy with just a 6 on a 6-4-2 flop in PLO after he’d raised pre and continued on the flop for about a $600 pickup is the only hand I can remember.

You have to adapt to the game conditions. When the table is tough I try to play tighter and more small ball with the exception of the above hand because I know the player and think I have an edge in PLO against him and pretty much anyone who plays in that game.

We grind the afternoon, more interested in the USA - Belgium soccer game on the TV’s than the actual poker game. As expected USA were no match for a decent European team. USA favored? Stone cold wrong line. We took advantage but I wish I would have bet more.

We rack up with a +$2,200 win after 6 hours. I skipped lunch in order to have a nice dinner. I text GolfPro to see if he wants to join me but he’s still otherwise engaged (no more spoilers)

So I dine alone at the bar in Prime.

Filet with gratin dauphinois and a glass of Cabernet. 10/10 Tastes much better eating it properly and enjoying it with a glass of wine rather than in a to-go box at the poker table while I’m playing.

It comes with 3 sauces: Bernaise, ginger soy, brandy peppercorn. I personally don’t like bernaise but alternate bites with the other two sauces and without.

On deck for the rest of the week:

We have exactly 3 tournaments left to play:

$1,000 PLO Mystery Bounty
$1,500 Pick Your PLO
$3,000 TORSE

So to use a Baseball analogy it’s World Series Game 7. It’s the bottom of the ninth, the Dodgers are down two runs. They have just 3 outs remaining to try and manufacture some runs to save their series and they have the top of the order up; Ohtahi, Pages and Freeman.

In other words, I still feel good, let’s hit a fcuking home run in these last 3 tournaments!

Damnit, I want to cheer for you both for this trip report and my investment, but if you are calling yourself the Dodgers I am going to have to cheer against you :(

Great result today and the filet looks vg

Looks GREAT!!

Belgium isn't very good, but can you at least have some respect while you are on American soil? 😉

Prime looks great, but can we start a thing where we show pics of a steak that is cut into?

Pick your PLO?

Are they still blocking off the deep end, or was it possible to swim there?

by golddog

Pick your PLO?

It's a Dealer's Choice event; the player on the button picks the game and can choose between:

- Four Card PLO High, single board
- Four Card PLO High, double board
- Five Card PLO High, single board
- Five Card PLO High, double board
- PLO/8
- Big-O

At least that is what I can gather from the structure sheet. Bart Hanson talked in a recent podcast about wanting to play this event in case he has been eliminated from the Main Event.

Day 43
Tuesday July 7th

Rough day.

Did exactly the opposite of a home run in the PLO mystery bounty. 3 (bullets) and out in quick time.

Also lost -$3,000 in the cash game.

And Colombia lost on penalties for the tri-fecta.

Don’t really want to go into details.

Appreciate the update, but more so that it's short. As we get to the end of the series and you're getting worn down by both exhaustion and the tournament results, I'm glad you don't feel obligated to exert additional mental energy posting a recap of a bad day. Hang in there.

$3k TORSE going to be the summer saver!

rename it TARSE after he wins
