Feel Wrath's Seniors Special
The Aussie will be in Vegas for 8 nights - 10th to 18th June. Staying at Horseshoe.
It’s been 3 years since my last Veg
4 days of painting in the books. Very happy with what I got done. all prep work & then 2 coats on 3 bedrooms plus the lounge, dining & kitchen. All of the Architraves & skirting was an oil based paint, so we had to prime them first which was extra work.
will have a fair amount to finish up when I'm back/probably mostly after I move in, but the high traffic areas are all done.
I have 2 sleeps til Vegas & actually allowing myself to get excited now that a lot of the work has been done.

At the airport, about an hour before my departure. 13.5 hours to San Francisco and then a quick change to Vegas. Scheduled to get there mid morning Weds. Not my first rodeo with long flights and I’m looking forward to it tbh
Finally starting to feel excited after a really busy past week or so. Have a load of Jaka coaching stuff downloaded for the plane and am hoping to do some work & read and generally chill.
Sadly am flying economy class so there’s zero chance of me sleeping but it’s a morning/day time flight so all good.
Roll pic and my shoes for run good. Those Converse have seen better days but have also seen me through a lot of times, so they stay with me!

Safe travels!
Not enough coins for a bona fide senior.
Go go go!!!
wish you all the luck and look forward to hearing about it
Shoe game looking strong.
Which shoes will get used on the gym C2? All would likely work.
Safe travels, look forward to potentially meeting a long time H&F logger next week.
posting to subscribe in epic bread
go feely!!!!
SPC and I wishing you the best of luck and are looking foreword to the trip report.
Git sum
Thanks Breaux!
Actually pretty enjoyable 13.5 hr flight considering no sleep. Watched an about 7 episodes of the Newsroom which I really enjoyed and did some work on my mtt game.
Had a super hard ass immigration official who tried really hard to inconvenience me. Guessing that’s his only joy as he stamps passports in a basement for 8 hours per day
Currently sipping a breakfast beer (it’s 1am in Sydney) while I wait to board to Vegas
Should arrive in Vegas by 11 if everything goes to plan.

What about a super senior? I qualiify 😀 I would love to play one but none running while I will be in town. Not sure seniors are so soft? I only played in one ever ($600 at Wynn). I was the stone cold bubble boy. But the play was solid and I find I have more of an edge aganst young guns who look at me as an OMC and are confused when I shoot back 😀
Daily Deepstack for granpas Thursday, $two-fitty.
I get it, but the age isn’t going away…May as well own it.
A few years ago I was competing in the world’s silliest sport (indoor rowing). Turning 50 took me into 50-54yo age group and gave me a chance to be competitive at Aus and World champs so I was super excited when the age ticked over!

Missed this the first time. How does that work, 3 boats in a swimming pool?
Glad to hear you arrived safely, despite customs guy. Best wishes in the Seniors and any other things. You deserve some rungood after what you've been through the last few years.
I’m not able to comprehend the concept of a 13 hour flight being “enjoyable,” but glad it worked for you!
Are you planning any major adjustments based on the studying you did on the flight, or just sharpening the tools already in your toolbox?
Good luck with the rest of the travel and with the start of your series.

Indoor rowing is using a Concept2 rowing machine. No water (except sweat)
ship it
Will update later - currently in a truly remarkable $250 Senior’s Deepstack at Horseshoe

So…I got a very early check in at Horseshoe and managed a 2 hour nap. Woke up at 3pm feeling totally spaced out.
Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Horseshoe room. The hallway and general decor around the property is very tired but the room itself was clean and spacious and absolutely perfect for what I need.
Headed to the pool for some sunlight and a swim to wake myself up. Contrary to the other old men in LVL I actually enjoy some music while I’m at the pool. Tbh
After a shower it was time for a little poker. One of my many nitty ‘rules’ that have helped me survive and to some degree prosper in poker is to play small when I’m jet lagged. When your brain isn’t working properly you don’t want to make difficult decisions for a lot of money.
So I played 2/3. It was a new table and I was surprised that everyone started with the max 500 stacks. The table was decent - two grinder types who knew what they were doing but were quite straightforward and then the rest were making middle aged recs. One absolute drooler who of course ran as pure as can be and had 2k when I left.
I had a slightly frustrating session where I got hit heavily by the deck but never at a time when the villains had much of anything.
There’s a limp and I open JJ to 15. Limper calls. The board is 962cc I bet 10 he calls. Turn is Jc I bet 45 he folds.
Two limps to button who bets 20. I’m in SB with KQhh and raise to 70, they all fold
A tight guy opens to 12 two callers to me in bb with QJcc. I should squeeze here but flatted which I was annoyed about. Flop is Q high the raiser bets 10, the other two call, I raise to 65 and they all fold
I open button with 86cc and bb calls. Flop is A83ss I bet 10 he calls
Turn is an offsuit 7 I bet 35 he calls
River is a third spade and he bets 150. Ok then…you have a flush! I fold
I open 33 to 12 and tight guy 3 bets to 25 (!) I call.
Flop is KJ2 and checks through turn another J and checks through. River is a 4 I bet 10 he calls and MHIG vs AQ. I LOVE tiny value like this. Makes me very happy
There’s an open and a call and I call bb with 44. Flop is A24r checks through. Turn is another A, checks to raiser who bets 25. It’s a messy spot for me because a check raise is so strong and he probably doesn’t have an Ace but I have to look for value - I go to 60 and he folds 66 face up
Two hands later I open button for 12 with 66. Both blinds call.
Flop is 962 I bet 10 they both fold.
Next orbit EP who was the drooler opens UTG and there’s 2 callers. I have JJ in bb and raise to 75 he calls
Flop is AKJ I bet 50 and he folds 99 face up. That’s 4 sets in an hour!
UTG opens to 15. +1 goes to 50. I’m in +2 and find KK and go to 150 and they both fold. This spot is a little meh too - maybe I should flat here?
The big regret from the session was this hand. There’s an open from UTG +1 and a call and I flat cut off with 66. Folds to a grinder guy in bb and he goes to 85. UTG +1 calls. Back to me and it’s 70 more to fall and hit my set. I chose not to, the board was A65 with two diamonds and AQ got it in vs AKdd for a 1k pot that could all have been mine.
Last hand was annoying. I open MP with A4cc and drooler calls. Flop is A 8 10r. I bet 10 he calls. Turn is a 4 I bet 45 he calls. River is a 9, I check he bets 75 and I think I have to call. His range was very wide and he’d be betting his two pairs for sure but he had 76 for the straight
So…I racked up to go to dinner with a slightly meh $150 profit.

Dinner at Battista’s was fun. Met TJ (who I have met before) RP Poker, Mr Baseball and Prairiebreeze who I must have been chatting with for a decade or more so that was great.
I had a steak of some kind which was fine - nothing to write home about but good. I realised at that point that I hadn’t eaten since being on the plane 14 hours ago - jet lag does weird things to your body. The food really hit me though and I was suddenly very tired.
I had a walk to the Strip with prairie and did a quick CVs run and then we said our goodbyes and I went to bed.
10.5 of the best hours sleep you can get ensued and I woke up feeling groggy and…late for the 9am Senior’s Deepstack! The $10 coffee from Lavazza was necessary but painful to pay for.
Truly incredible table - of course no pros and lots of terrible recs and almost every hand was 4+ handed. Also of course…I couldn’t find an opening hand and bluffing didn’t work well.
I scratched around for a few hours and all of a sudden I had 15bb. I got a reshove through with 44, I burned half my stack with K high trying to get someone off a weak Ace.
I got to 8bb and then managed a double with QJss against the button shove of a newly arrived legend of poker John Duthie who had J7. But then in the next level I shoved my last 11 bb over a lump with AJo and then limper called with KQhh and got there
Meh. I’ve spent a few hours at the gym (pretty good) and then the pool and have just eaten some Flautas at Guy Fieri after once again realising I’ve barely eaten today
The plan from here is to play some cash and then the satellite to tomorrow’s 5k Senior’s

FWIW the Horseshoe food choices are mediocre, Paris is much better. If you don't know, you can just walk over in the hallway near the cashier. Cafe Americano has decent food you don't have to bend over too much for, relatively speaking.
I did some work in my room and then had a quick +75 session of 1/3 before heading to play the $5k satellite at Horseshoe
Once again the field was incredible and I think they would have given away more than 25 tickets in the end. I never got anything going and didn’t pick up a hand of note which is needed in a turbo ish structure - 20 min blinds and 100bb starting.
Only hand of note happened at 100/200. There’s a limp and then thr button was a very active French guy who opened to 700. I had Q10hh in the small blind and 3 bet to 1800, he called. Flop was JJ9 one heart. I jammed for his last 2k and he called with A9o. Turn was another heart but I couldn’t get there
Other than that I basically defended bb where appropriate but never got anything open spot. Ended up shoving my last 10bb over JJ and not getting there
Meh. By this point it was 9pm. I got a quick seat at the Horseshoe 3/5 game. My table didn’t seem great tbh - 4 regs but actually was off the hook with action. I again just never found many spots. I won a decent pot defending bb 3 way with AJo and then check calling two streets on J82 QQ and being good
Biggest hand was a little annoying and I’m not sure with how I played it.
I open to 20 from UTG +1 with QQ. Good Asian reg 3 bet to 60. We’re 630eff. I chose to flat - I can 4 bet and I would at my home room, so maybe I can, but I took the more passive route.
Flop is J 10 6 I check he bets 55 I call
Turn is a 5 I check he bets 150 I call
River is a super annoying K and he bets 275 I fold
Idk.
Either way, I mainly folded for two hours and racked up at 11 -275
Had a decent sleep with the aid of a sleeping pill and I’m now eating breakfast at thank Grand Lux

I was just about to say LFG but first hand at 100/200/200 …SB limps and I’m in the bb with 73o I raise to 600 and he calls
SB must be 70 and looks a lot like Bill Clinton with a ball cap on
Flop is 34Q, he checks I bet. Turn is the lovely 7 he checks I bet 1000 and he check raises to 3000. Yuk but I can’t fold two pair here and I call
Turn is an offsuit 8 he leads 5000.feels a lot like 56 but he can also have a better two pair?
I make the lay down.

I think it’s a good fold.
Whenever you encounter any degree of resistance in the early stages, it’s better to just fold, and move on.
