Proper Eats food hall at Aria is pretty solid. Chicken shawarma sandwich and the sushi are very good. Smash burger solid. Haven’t had the others.
Looking for decent casual dining options within walking distance of the horseshoe. What I know of is Earl of Sandwich in Planet Hollywood which is a bit of a walk, Ramsay burger planet Hollywood, secret pizza Cosmo (not sure how long this walk is), money line pizza Aria, Ellis Island restaurants. Anything else notable that's closer? Anything good in that outdoor food court thin

When I’m on dinner break at the WSOP, I see lines out the door for their terrible, overpriced food court options. I just go out the door, cross the street, and get some great lasagna or chicken parm for ~$30-35ish.

at the far side stood a sign with sun faded pink font promising 'fine italian cuisine'
first impression being watered down red sauce
proceed to witness wedding parties unload from three stretch hummer limousines stacked up in a row

It has probably been at least 20 years since I was there, so this info is just a wee bit dated. When I went the food was ok but not outstanding, and IIRC included all the cheap Chianti you could drink. There was a strolling musician (accordionist?) who hustled every table by walking up and asking where you were from and then playing a location appropriate song. The guy was probably 85+ y/o then, so he may or may not still be strolling along.
The true beauty of the place was that it was pure 1950s Las Vegas. Tons of B&W pictures on the walls of vintage celebs and non-celebs. It is definitely worth at least one trip, but unless things have changed markedly, temper your expectations of the food.
Can't believe Margaritaville is closing. Wow, maybe Caesars is selling off the Flamingo. We used to love eating there and then playing in that old run-down poker room that is also gone. Damn, Vegas just ain't the same.
Have been wanting to try Barista's, but it never seems to be open or the right timing. We love the liquor/wine convenience store across the street from it, though! Been there many times 😉

Batista’s is great for the old school Vegas vibe, food is not good if I remember correctly.
Not good at all. Yet somehow better than the wine.
Know before you go that you’re going for the vibe and location and AYCD wine.
Get off the strip, actually just off the strip. Also have Ellis Island not too far from there on Koval. That place is a blast and a low rollers heaven. A little farther down is Double Down Saloon one of the funnest, cheap diver bars in town with a punk rock jukebox and 70s porn on the tvs.

Yep. Tried to go into Stage Door for my 53rd birthday (after buying a few bottles of wine next door with my husband), but I didn't have my ID and they wouldn't let me in! LOL. Maybe we'll stop there this time and I'll have a drink for my 56th 😉

Paradise and Naples is an interesting intersection. One side is 2 huge gay bars, the other side is grimy with the DD, the tattoo shop I go to and Naked City Pizza, which is very good if you like deep dish pies.
Mother Wolf was phenomenal, 10/10 dinner. The focaccia, cacio pepe, and pistachio gelato in particular but everything was great.

The Office Bar which I’ve never been to is basically part of Naked City pizza. Don’t they refer to this area as the fruit loop district. An interesting way to refer to the gay bar district. The owner is a pretty interesting character as well and also owns Frank’s Tiki Bar and a bar at the new punk rock museum.

Wj94, I’ve seen you post that you might be overly nice to restaurants because you worked as a server, I have to call you out for your mother wolf review. I can’t find one person besides you that would ever go back including myself. You get far better food at north Italia which is a small chain of simple American Italian food imo. Focaccia was really good though.
