Las Vegas Fine Dining Thread

Hey,

2. N9ne at the Palms (stakes imo)link

3. Ago at the Hard Rock(Italian)link

4. Prime at Bellagio (Stakes obv)link

5. CraftSteak at MGM (STAKESSSSSSS) link

6. Mesa Grill at Caesars (some kinda grill?) link

7. Fix at Bellagio (i have no idea i read the description, this could be ANYTHING) link

8. SW Stakehouse at the Win, obv stakes, for some reason wynn has the worst godamn website ever so no link=/

9. Bouchon at the Venetian (french, head chef is Thomas Keller, guy is fcking sickkkk) link

anyway, add to my list or tell me to avoid places on my list for reasons.

Thanks, wj94. I looked into inKind a year or so ago, but there are no restaurants near me that accept it. We used to go to Vegas four or five times a year, but now it's two or three, so not sure it's worth it, but I'll look again.

I have read... that when you see Maguro that is as deep red as this, that it is actually Dolphin.

Isn't akami maguro deep red? From my searches it is.

Dinner at Jean Georges. This is my fourth time at JG and every previous time I was underwhelmed by the steaks, but remembered the sea bass as the best piece of fish I’ve ever had. Well that held up because we all agreed the steaks were pretty average but the sea bass and short rib were incredible.

Ribeye and two NY strips - 6.5/10
Rib cap - 8/10 (but not worth $130)
Miso glazed sea bass 10/10 so good we ordered another one
Short rib - 10/10
Crispy sushi rice - 8/10
Bacon wrapped shrimp - 9/10
Beef carpaccio - 8/10
Tuna tartare - 7/10
Desserts - 9/10
Cocktails - 9/10
Bread - 9/10

$1100 plus tip for 5 people. It was all comped thanks to my degen friend which is nice. Overall very good but for the money there’s other places I’d rather go. Or just come back and get the sea bass/short rib instead of steak.

For our Bazaar Mar dinner (

), this is what I was thinking:

Kueh Pai Ti or Puntillitas Fritas (they both sound good)
Monkfish SAMM (I love monkfish, but last time I had it I was underwhelmed -- Sparrow + Wolf)
Rossejat

Should we skip the monkfish or Rossejat and go with the Miso Glazed Secreto Iberico or the Wagyu? Since this is a seafood place, I was thinking seafood, but we both love meat 😉

I'm open to recommendations. My husband is picky and doesn't like mustard (not a problem here) or mayonnaise (aioli, but he might have to deal with it or we can get on the side).

Dinner at Jean Georges...

is that Duck fat or just whipped butter?

No help with Bazaar Mar menu (see above)? We have reservations for Sunday, so hoping someone can agree or make a suggestion. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

the things that piqued my curiosity
only focusing on the opportunity for seafood

Puntillitas Fritas (hubby should learn to like aioli with black garlic)
Abalone and Shiitaki
Hokkaido Sea Scallops (either crudo or pan seared)
Rossejat
Cockles en Salsa Verde (i have a weak spot for clams)
Seafood Butifarra (duh...sausage and pà amb tomàquet)

I haven’t had any of those at Mar except the Rossjat which was great. I’ve seen other tables with the two apps and they looked good. The shrimp things are small.

I had the iberico secreto at Bazaar Meat and it was good but didn’t blow me away, rather have steak for the money. The Wagyu steak also comes with a full side of mashed potato and a side salad both of which are incredible so I’d vote for that.
