yeah i'm kind of surprised that he didn't come back with graphs comparing USA to Sweden when that was super trendy
and feel somewhat responsible for him leaving and hope it was an unrelated issue that just coincided with our back and forths, that was not my intention, and felt even worse after all those people talked about how great he was in person, i previously really enjoyed his thread presence as well with his hunting dog pics being a nice highlight
he did kind of lose it a little when people started talking about social distancing, vaccines, and masks itt
was a big proponent of not doing anything preventative and letting nature run its course - caught a lot of flak from some of us (mostly me) and stopped posting never to be heard of again
that was my main experience with him - but everyone else that knew him from meetups said that he's one of the nicest people in the world
and it kind of seems like his let god sort it out policy wasn't as awf
correct. nice guy and his mrs too. tbh that's been my experience with everyone I've met irl from here. some people are different to how you imagine, some are very similar, but all decent people
Thank you but it is what it is. We talked about it while I was in Denver just couldn't save her and the marriage. I had to be like a total bitch to get her to go to the doctor and get into therapy and like it worked, but the romance etc... was done. She's a great mom and we are really good co parents do I'm not upset.
As Bo Pelini always said: it is what it is.
Also, obviously huge PITA but I do request people use she/her for my pronouns.

Affirmative, I work as a senior mechanical engineer for a design firm. Not sure how long, like it all depends on how everything plays out. I would love to raise my son here but obviously moving back to Minnesota makes a lot of sense which is why I'm heading back to the grind.
Don't talk to Mike too often but Jesse has a son who is a bit younger than mine and we do family stuff somewhat regularly. Heading to the zoo on Sunday. Last couple years we watched football every Sunday but I think he's heading to Lee's this year so not sure if my boy and I will be there.

I'm actually working on an academic philosophy work I'm going to self publish on a unique twist on Immanuel Kant. Likely will have zero readership but I love writing and find it very rewarding and simply refuse to do back to college.
Unfortunately I can't trim it down to a paper without leaving too many unanswered questions.

I'm teaching War Theory (think Clausewitz and stuff), Airpower history, Contemporary Warfare (modern theory and practice), and Naval History this year.

GL. Try the academic presses before you go the self-publish route. The readership for self-published philosophy is sadly as low as you think.

Per Garricks comment, definitely thought about submitting it to a traditional publisher but I simply want to own the rights to my work. Publishing is a scam and if it's valid then it's valid and I'm just going to hustle and grind to get it out.

he built a custom house and not only is the gun room fully mirrorred but it has a selection of oils and body rubs on each wall
Hopefully he actually did get a house built, I know he has wanted one for a while. Tried looking up his twitter and saw it was shut down. Don't blame him, social media is garbage.
